I appreciate this video so much, because a) I bought this kit for my 2 Shih Tzus because grooming costs were out of hand, and b) this is the realest video--it was good seeing it used on the same breed I have, and seeing them react. Good to know I can use the deshedder on my short-haired Rat Terrier, too. His fur is everywhere! Thanks!

My shih tzu has since been diagnosed with cancer 🙏🏻 but he’s doing okay. I’d just much rather be able to do this at home. And I think I do a better job!

Thank you for this video! I have 5 cats and a lab/German shephard/retriever mix and it's shedding season so as you can imagine it's a hot mess in this house 😂 between my allergies and the constant fur on my bed from the cats and my dog looking homeless from blowing her coat I've been researching grooming machines and this has been so thorough and helpful ❤

Just FYI I really do continue to use this - not just for the sake of this video! I use the grooming feature more than other but with your breeds, you’ll get a ton of hair!

I bought the Uproot dematter/detangler and used it on my long-haired cat yesterday. OMG. I got another cat, and my bed was covered in fur. I am seriously considering this to eliminate the mess. I am concerned about the noise as she is "delicate", too. But I am thinking I will get this.

@@angela-sanders I think the trick is to get them used to the tool WITHOUT the vacuum turned on. And then start at the lowest (quietest) setting and slowly work your way up. Also, if your cat likes treats, you can give her a tasty treat as you're grooming to establish a positive association!

It says on their website that it's as quiet as a refrigerator.
... what kind of refrigerator do they have? Do they mean an industrial walk-in fridge? Lol. It IS quiet compared to a dryer at the groomer's, but fridge quiet? Doesn't sound like it.

I’m gonna have to agree with you there.

Got mine as a b-day present.
Your cat might tolerate better IF you had suction on lowest setting.
My kitty is skittish but she loves to be brushed.

Wondering If this will work with a chow chow. Not supposed to take a lot of hair off them when trimming them

The deshedder tool would probably be great for a chow chow. If you’re just spot trimming, you can use the trimmer without a guard and just trim to the desired length (not use it against their skin). I did this when trimming up legs and even on the bottom of their paws.
