"World Class Builder"
Love your videos, Jared. I have to pick up a lathe Thank you for sharing your ideas.
Peace
Thanks for watching!
Your videos are so educational Weems. Thanks 🙏
Glad you like them!
If your going to really take it to the desert. I would get new modern shocks if it's allowed.
Dude 25/bushing is bananas. I legit just spent 21 for four on my VTX. :o But I honestly watched because I wanted to know how to not cry and rely on Daddy Bezos. Good shit!
can barely wait for this one man, I hope this is Brand not specific! LOL
Good Day Weems Motor Co
You too!
its cool seeing the process but this isn't saving anyone money who doesn't already have a lathe. this isn't true DIY.
The main point is the basic principle. I'm sure anyone with a drill can rig up some sort of system to do the same job.
Yeah, I thought about that too....However, there is more than one way to skin a cat!
@@jonathanlloyd919 that could've been shown/explained. that's why i think this isn't a proper DIY. He showed how to DIY with a giant lathe, not how to DIY with tools most of us have in our garages.
Well Stupid me all these years Ive been pressing things in using a vice. now i know i was doing it all wrong. time to go to harbor freight and get a lathe to press fit my bushings and to use emery cloth on my rusty parts. 🤑
LoL, More than one way to skin a cat!
Damn I thought this was going to be a boring vid. Making a bushing, OOOOW wow. But this was really cool how the lath does it all. No Hammers were used in the filming of this Vid. Thanks Jerod. I was just going to do a Play thru and like it but I actually watched and was not disappointed.
Thanks for watching and being entertained!
I could have used some of those. I bought new shocks for my 1975 Honda CB750 and the cheap rubber bushing that came with them got torn up on installation. Ended up using the old ones I had.
That desert race sounds fun. I wonder what the temp will be. I'm new to old British bikes and I recently noticed how hot the carb on my 64 TR6 gets. The temperature will be fine while riding around (thanks to the airflow) but when I park the bike the heat transfers from the engine to the carb... it'll get hot to the touch after 15 minutes or so. I've tried a couple different insulators...they all work about the same. Is that just the way these old British bikes are? My Honda carbs stay pretty cool, but it's a very different design
Great note. Webco made some finned intake spacers that take up some of the heat.
👍

Good DIY, thanks for sharing Jared.
Thanks for watching!
Nice work!
Thanks for the visit
@@weemsmotorco my pleasure! YW
Nice! i don't have a lathe but i gotta brain so , I bet I can rig something up. LOL
You can do it! Use a VICE!
Weems thanks for the no bullshit content !!! Loyal fan of ur content, wish I was in the swamp I would enjoy helpin you on bikes I ride a sporty but love BSA an triumph choppers, N.J 1%er.
Just curious what lathe do you have in the shop?
The lathe is a 1947 South Bend 13 inch bed with a 5ft. tail
Awesome idea, wish I had a lathe 😄
It’s a life saver!
I've got an old motorcycle repair course written in the late 60's or early 70's that uses a Triumph twin to illustrate the 4 stroke engine section. It's kink of neat when you see the old engine still being used today.
Why do you think every single car or bike EVER sold has never used Eurethane bushes as standard?
They are garbage. Eurethane melts at temperatures shocks reach. They aren't a lender or progressive stiffness. They go hard, hard, collapse to soft. Rubber goes soft, medium, hard progressively.
Eurethane won't last long, 5 years max in a good climate. If the suspension is rotating of flexing even 5° they will crap out.
Good rubber is only on good brand cars. I've got 50 year old Toyota's here with OEM rubbers still
Great Point! I will keep an eye on them for sure!
Great video. Showed a lot of simple solutions and a drill could be adapted to do this as well. Thank you.
You bet!
