Also snow white which was made in the forties. My dad went to see it and then went back to see it again I think he set the record for seeing that movie. He absolutely loved it.
1) Robin Williams - Genie 2) Tony Jay - Frollo 3) Jeremy Irons - Scar 4) James Earl Jones - Mufasa 5) Bobby Driscoll - Peter Pan 6) Jim Cummings - Winnie The Pooh 7) Keith David - Doctor Facilier 8) Vincent Price - Professor Ratigan 9) Pat Carroll - Ursula 10) James Woods - Hades
Sterling Holloway’s VA skills was described as “magical” and I can see why because he has voiced many characters in his time at Disney, from Mr. Stork to Pooh Bear. He’s one my favorite VA’s to voice classic characters.🙂
These voice actors played a huge part in Disney's long history in creating classic cinematic animated masterpieces! For if it wasn't for the amazing skill of the voice actors, The Disney characters that we all know and love would never have been given so much life!
Sterling was wonderful as Pooh and Jim Cummings was a worthy successor...Sterling was also wonderful as Kaa and George Sanders was noble as Shere Khan.
At first, Disney and his team considered casting someone else as the Crone in Snow White, but Lucille Laverne convinced them to give her a chance. All she had to do to nail the Crone voice was take out her dentures.
So many of my favorites in this including Kathryn Beaumont, Eva Gabor, and Ed Wynn, and Sterling Holloway is amazing! My favorite character of his is the Cheshire Cat 😊
I Absolutely Love the Brilliant Voice Acting Performances of Marvin Miller as the Narrator, Bill Shirley as Prince Phillip, Mary Costa as Princess Aurora, Verna Felton as Flora, Barbara Luddy as Merryweather, Barbara Jo Allen as Fauna and Eleanor Audley as Maleficent from *Disney's Sleeping Beauty,* Barrie Ingham as Detective Basil, Val Bettin as Dr. David Q. Dawson, Alan Young as Hiram Flaversham, Susanna Pollatschek as Olivia Flaversham, Vincent Price as Professor Padraic Ratigan and Candy Candido as Fidget from *Disney's The Great Mouse Detective* and Adriana Caselotti as Snow White and Lucille La Verne as Queen Grimhilde from *Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarves.*
Excellent list! When Vincent Price says a line like "Oh, I LOVE IT when I'm nasty!" so much twisted glee, not only do you know you've got the perfect guy for the part and he's having a total blast! He and John Hurt set the villain voice acting standard to stratospheric heights!
Disney’s Adriana Caselotti and Dickie Jones vs Non-Disney’s Irene Cara and Seth Green If you remember Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs and Pinocchio in The Golden Age of Disney, it’s not often it screams sequel but another animated studio did. Only thing is it’s very different from the Disney original. No one would recall Snow White and Pinocchio wear blue and face different villains
My younger sister and I watched a video a few months ago of all of the Disney voice actors. It was so as you say surreal seeing Walt Disney himself with his iconic Mickey Mouse voice. It was so weird that it was him. It made us also start to tear up because there was the man who started everything….There he was recording the voice of his iconic and amazing character
The best way to honor Disney's 23th anniversary (other than it's short "Once upon a studio", that is) Thanks for this beautiful top, Emely. Have a happy saturday afternoon and God bless you. Take care and greetings from Colombia to you as well. Oh, BTW, you're my favorite voice from this channel.
Mrs. Felton was lovely as Flora in Sleeping Beauty and as the Godmother in Cinderella...but she needed to chill out as one if the Elephants in Dumbo and as Aunt Sarah in Lady and the Tramp.😊😊😊😊
Eleanor Audley deserves credit for not only Maleficent, but also for Lady Tremaine in Cinderella and Madame Leota on The Haunted Mansion ride at the US Disney parks.
Great list. Though for Eva Gabor's spot, there should have been a reference or shout out to Miss Bianca as well, since that was another role Eva had. I'm a bit shocked there was no mention of Bob Newhart, Joe Flynn, Jim Jordan, or Michelle Stacy, since Penny does have a few things in common with Cinderella. Fun Fact: Verna Felton, who was the fairy Godmother was also Wilma's mother on the Flintstones, so if you listen to the voice you can identify it.
One small mistake, I believe. The dress the stepsisters rip apart wasn't Cinderella's mother's dress. She made it from stuff the mice brought her, which is why the sisters were saying "That's my ribbon!" or "Those are my pearls!" They were.
Hearing Vincent Price say that Ratigan is his favorite Disney Villain. Well, The Great Mouse Detective is one of my favorite Disney Movies when I was a kid
I can’t even pick my favorite out of all of these! They’re all so iconic and they all shaped my childhood and I love all of them (even the evil ones 😂) I love that Adrianna Casoletti was on the list. I’ve always loved her unique and girlish voice. Her singing voice is also so incredibly beautiful
#1 is easily the best of the best. Without Halloway, Winnie the Pooh would not be the voice of all childhoods for many people who grew up on Disney. On a side note, I personally liked the performances of Sebastian Cabot as Sir Ector from The Sword in the Stone and as Bagheera in The Jungle Book.
It may not say favorite in the title but I love Dwayne Johnson, Robin Williams, Bobby Driscoll, Verna Felton, Stephanie Beatriz, Paige O’ Hara, Nathan Lane, Lea Salonga and Sterling Holloway
Sterling Holloway was perfect in all the roles he played,Jerry Colonna was amazing as the March hare,Basil Rathbone as Bagheera, and I forget who played Shere Khan, but he was amazing as well.💘💘💘
Sterling Holloway is my favorite voice actor of all time. Jim Cummings is a good successor, but personally, Sterling will always be one of the best original Disney voices.
They got the number 1 pick right, but Vincent Price as Ratigan is one of Disney's best voice acting performances ever. Seeing him at anything below 2 is a travesty
I love Eleanor Audley as Maleficent and Lucille La Verne as The Evil Queen. Hero wise, my favorites are Mary Costa as Aurora and Adriana Caselotti as Snow White. Male wise I love Vincent Price as Ratigan and John Hurt as the Horned King. Hero wise I love Phil Harris as Baloo and Cliff Edwards as Jiminy Cricket.
If you're going to include Walt as Mickey Mouse, you have to include Clarence Nash as Donald Duck, Pinto Colvig as Goofy (as well as several of the dwarfs in Snow White) and Billy Bletcher as Peg-Leg Pete.
Am I the only one who thinks Vincent Price has always been a Ham? Granted, other than this movie, Rankin & Bass Peter Cottontail and the 13 Ghost of Scooby Doo, plus one 70s horror movie that forgot the name of, I've never seen/heard him act.

Tony Jay narrowly ekes out my number one as far as acting. Robin Williams was awesome, but he played one note: frantic comedy with heart. Frollo was a dry, ugly wit, but damn if he didn't have some grisly range. It's definitely 51/49 though.
Those on my list that were left out - Ed Brophy as Timothy Mouse in Dumbo - the ideal friend, and basically speaking for himself AND Dumbo; Hans Conried as Captain Hook and Mr. Darling in Peter Pan - master of cartoon villainy; Barbara Luddy as Lady in Lady & the Tramp - people don't appreciate how hard innocence is to act; And James Baskett as Br'er Fox in Song of the South - problematic it might be, but he truly OWNS the character and pours so much energy into it that you feel winded just watching, but he's still menacing where he needs to be. In fact I'd say he had a LOT more fun playing Br'er Fox than he did playing Uncle Remus.
A few egregious omissions: Edward Brophy as Timothy Mouse Eric Blore as J. Thaddeus Toad J. Pat O'Malley as pretty much anything he did Hans Conried as Captain Hook Rod Taylor as Pongo Peggy Lee in Lady and the Tramp
All these voice actors were very special to me growing up they brought magic and feeling to there performances as there characters and there’s no denying they were born to play the roles 😊❤️💖
"Cinderella" and "Sleeping Beauty" were works with such a high level of perfection that it was hard to believe they were made in the 1950s.
I agree wholeheartedly
Or maybe the standards were just higher then
Also snow white which was made in the forties. My dad went to see it and then went back to see it again
I think he set the record for seeing that movie.
He absolutely loved it.

7) Keith David - Doctor Facilier

@@jfb173jbPeter Pan and The Great Mouse Detective were in the 90's?! 🤣🤣🤣
@@Uncle_Smidge obviously not, but the others are....Little Mermaid, Hercules, Princess and the Frog, Aladdin, Lion King...

Loving the appreciation that Ilene Woods is getting here! She's so wonderful!
So classic and iconic!
Indeed.
All of them are iconic ❤

Yesssss! Phil Harris getting his flowers ❤ Phil Harris is one of my favorite voice actors of all time!
They always makes me feel like simple times when I think of classic Disney and the voice acting fuels it even more
right
I love these voice actors ❤❤🥰🥰
Me too
Long before voicing Baloo, Phil Harris was one of many performers trading banter with the penny pinching Jack Benny on the Lucky Strike Comedy Show.
Born in 1976, I have seen them all growing up, but my favorite was and still is Cinderella and have it on DVD to this day.
So many of my favorites in this including Kathryn Beaumont, Eva Gabor, and Ed Wynn, and Sterling Holloway is amazing! My favorite character of his is the Cheshire Cat 😊

Mrs. Luddy had such a sweet voice as Merryweather and Lady and such a motherly voice as Kanga.
Walt, James and Wayne were all great as Mickey and Russi was wonderful as Minnie..may they all rest in peace.😊😊😢😢
Happy 100, Disney.

Classic Disney movies are the best, I've seen many of these movies several times over, and they're simply timeless!
Right
Agreed
Newest Disney are boring I hope they will restart classics again
Eleanor Audley deserves credit for not only Maleficent, but also for Lady Tremaine in Cinderella and Madame Leota on The Haunted Mansion ride at the US Disney parks.
I Love Disney. Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs and Cinderella were My Mother's Favorite Disney Films
My mother loves Snow White as well, she was born the year it came out.
Great list.

Its very rare to see the classic era voice actor still alive
Billy was great as the early version of Pete and he was also great as Henry aka Papa Bear in the Merrie Melodies cartoons.
Also Billy Bletcher in MGM voices cartoon shorts he does Spike the Bulldog.
Love the picks! My favorites are Kathryn Beaumont and Ilene Woods.

He was great as the Genie. He's lucky he got to play him again in Aladdin 3, before he passed away.
Great picks!
You knew I wanted something earlier today and so you're delivering
The voice actings were really iconic🎙️
George Sanders as Shere Khan definitely deserved a spot on this list!!!
Pat Buttram as the Sheriff of Naughtingham
PAul Winchelle as Tigger
Sebastián Cabbot as Bagira
Edward Brophy as Timothy Q Mouse

I find Jiminy Cricket as one of Disney’s Best Characters. It’s just a shame he’s not in the list of Top 20 Best Disney Characters
I read that Carl Stalling spoke Mickey's first words.
Very very great epic list I like it a lot very very great job mis mojo one of my absolute favorite list ever 😊❤

Speaking of Disney, I now made 600 Disney Videos on my RUclips page. I will ALWAYS be a Disney Lover
I also think Disney had Ben Wright in 101 Dalmatians. He’s from The Sound of Music
