Jeremy Irons is the whole reason Scar works as well as he does. He can be convincingly deadpan and sassy one minute, and threatening and completely unhinged the next. A Shakespeare style villain deserves a Shakespearian actor, and Irons fit the bill perfectly.
Yeah, he’s more overrated if you ask me.
I still wish that they would have brought him back as scar for the live action version. If they brought back James Earl Jones then they should have brought back Irons for scar.
Yeah, his acting was a lot convincent as villain
Why are is the Pixar characters not on the list
Don’t forget Jim Cummings!
Iron's voice acting was so strenuous, he blew out his voice recording "Be Prepared". Jim Cummings had to step in and record the last third of the song. If you listen closely, you can hear the change right as Scar says "You won't get a sniff without me!!"
Keith David is so underrated, his performance as Dr. Facilier is AMAZINGGG🔥❤
Yep. He is the best character in the Princess and the Frog film...and one of the best Disney Villains of all time
Sign him up to play my villain.
Cree Summers has been the voice of more cartoon characters than anyone. She was the voice of Penny on Inspector Gadget because her dad was the voice of Dr. Madd. Even if you look up Cree Summers voice credits, it won't give you all of them. You literally have to know the cartoon tv show or movie to see them all...she goes back waaaayyyy before she was old enough to do "A Different World." I love Cree Summers. I can recognize her voice damn near anywhere!
Fun Fact: When Simba tells Scar that he's weird, Scar answers back with "You have no idea", which Jeremy Irons also said in his Oscar Winning turn in "Reversal of Fortune."
You have no idea, ready normal people?
Ready! Ready! Ready!
The internet is for Por
When Scar said this, I don't know what I felt: shaking chills?.. Great job!
*”Well you know how men are, they think no means yes and get lost means take me I’m yours!”*
I did NOT appreciate Meg’s comments and sass when I was younger! 😂😂😂
"So long, Herc - it's been a slice!" is one of my all-time favourite lines!
The Great Mouse Detective did save Disney Animation from going bankrupt, thus it's such an underrated gem with an amazing voice cast. Vincent Price was just too perfect for the role as Professor Ratigan, however the other voices such as Barrie Ingham as Basil, Val Bettin as Dawson and to name a few others, deserve a lot of credit for this wonderful animated movie.
Jonathan Freeman has been voicing Jafar since the original Aladdin. He should have at least been an honorable mention.
Bonus points to him for reprising Jafar as well when Aladdin debuted on Broadway too!
@@werthmelissa oh, I forgot he did that. That’s really cool.
Wow.. Many villains' voice actors are underrated.. They did a great job for interpretee to the villains perfectly in the movie
Keith David once said in an interview Dr. Facilier is one of his favorite roles
And Tom Hulce's voice is a miracle. The angel equivalent to Frollo's devilry.
Hercules is one of my favorite Disney movies. Megara was such a refreshing character. She's smart, funny, flawed and delightfully sarcastic and sassy. Some of her dry line delivery vaguely reminds me of the beloved Alan Rickman.
Great list! When you have an actor like Vincent Price say lines like "Ooh, I love it when I'm nasty" that just oozes such twisted glee and delicious wickedness, not only was he truly having a blast in the recording booth, but you know you've also got the perfect guy for the role! John Hurt's horned king still sends shivers down my spine in the best way!
93: Stitch is cute and had zero idea that the co-director voiced the title character. I love it so much, I’m loving the nostalgia and the casting
Cree summers not only voiced many characters in her early years of her career but also voiced princess kida from Atlantis the lost empire and the villainess hyena from gargoyles she was excellent
DB Sweeney as Aladar (Dinosaur)
Della Reese as Eema (Dinosaur)(RIP)
Haley Joel Osment as Sora (Kingdom Hearts)
Jesse McCartney as Roxas (Kingdom Hearts II)
I wouldn't call Jeremy Irons performance underrated at all! It's very highly celebrated... my husband is a huge Lion King fan and he certainly agreed with me!
88: When I saw The Princess and the Frog on the big screen, I was surprised and amazed by Keith David’s performance as the voice of Dr. Facilier
96: How is Jeremy Irons, the voice of Scar, underrated? I find that hard to swallow. His performance as Scar is not just entertaining but phenomenal as Disney’s Best Villain. He may not be my favorite villain but from what I see, he just has fun bringing this character to life as a twisted evil king and have hyenas bow to him
The Lion King was the first time Matthew Brodrick and Nathan Lane performed together b4 the Producers appeared on Broadway
Oh yeah, they also did a great job: Matthew Broderick gives it humanity to the Simba's character and Nathan Lane gives it a lot of humor and charism to the Timon's character
How is Cree only number 9? She is everything!! She owned this movie! And could sing if they needed her to
I'll throw in one more from "Atlantis": Leonard Nimoy as Kashekim Nedakh, Kida's father and the king of Atlantis. It wasn't a big part, but Nimoy sure gave it everything he could, and definitely did not make him sound much like Spock!
You must have been smoking something if you think that Jeremy Irons as Scar is underrated, because his performance as Scar is almost as acclaimed and mentioned in the same breath as Robin Williams as The Genie from Aladdin.
Yay, any project featuring the legendary Tim Curry is automatically a thousand times more awesome. Forte always scared the bejesus out of me, especially during the climax! 😱
Mae Whitman as Shanti? Ming-Na Wen as Mulan? Kathryn Beaumont as Alice and Wendy? Bruce Reitherman as Mowgli?
People don't give Cree summer enough credit for her work on Atlantis.
People don't give Cree summers enough credit at all. Her voice acting history is one of the strongest you can find.
@@boulavard exactly. People can name a bunch of characters she voiced over the years, all the way to Netflix voltron. Yet she doesn't get the credit she deserves. It's not right.
Cree Summers learning all she does amazes me ❤😅
1) Cree Summer doesn't get the credit she deserves - Daughter of the late Don Francks who voiced Sabertooth in X-Men: The Animated Series.
2) Tim Curry

28) Corey Burton - Braniac in Superman: TAS, Jagga in Thundercats, Count Dooku and Cad Bane in Star Wars The Clone Wars
91: Even when I was a kid and now, John Hurt as the voice of The Horned King still haunts me
Just found out my sister was born in the year when The Black Cauldron was released
What are you talking about Jeremy irons has been recognized for playing scar
James Wood as Hades in Hercules. If there were an Oscar for voice action, Woods would have been the hands down winner that year.
How could you miss him?
The perfect top to wrap up this month. Thanks Ms Mojo and a happy sunday to you as well. Take care and i hope i see you soon for more. God bless you and greetings from Colombia.
86: I would never call Cree Summer underrated. I love her as the voice of Kida in Atlantis The Lost Empire
Dr. Facilier's animation took a shortcut by rotoscoping Michael Jackson's dancing, and seeing Dr. Facilier performing MJ's famous moves snapped my willing suspension of disbelief. Even now, when I watch "The Princess and the Frog", I can't fully enjoy "Friends on the Other Side" because all I see is MJ dancing.
😂😂😂 MJ is STILL an inspiration to all, even now!!! ❤❤❤
He does Michael Jackson moves?! And I’m just now finding this out?
Princess Kida of Atlantis gorgeous
HOW TF IS SCAR UNDERRATED
Ikr that’s generally seen as one of the best voice acting performances ever 😂
He’s more overrated if you ask me.
I've said it before, and I never tire of saying this: EVERYTHING about The Hunchback of Notre Dame is UNDERRATED! The songs, the characters, the animation, the themes...ugh! Glad Tom Hulce was included in this list, though I'm astonished Frollo wasn't mentioned.
As for Susan Egan, Megara is ONE AND ONLY. Who else is as sassy and sultry as her? She, along with other heroines, should be part of the Disney Princess franchise, even unofficially. My top 2 sre Megara and Esmeralda, and my other favorite non-princess is Judy Hopps.😁
I agree all these actors included in this list are underrated, even by me. Even creating an effective and convincing villain takes effort. Bravo to them all! 👏🏻
How was Jeremy Irons performance underrated? Everybody loves it.
I was thinking the same thing.
89: Excuse me for being excited but WHOO! Yes! Yes! Vincent Price is on this list! I don’t know how to explain how much I love The Great Mouse Detective as a kid. For the villain, voiced by a legend, I just love his villain performance
Honestly Tim Curry seems to have millions of underrated voice acting performances
People tend to forget that Irene Bedard, the woman who voiced Pocahontas, is actually Native American. I thought this was a big breakthrough for Disney since they could have easily had Pocahontas voiced by someone white, more famous or with more experience. It's unfortunate tho that after this, Irene seemed to had led a hard life. This opportunity should have opened more doors for her and Native American actors and voice actors.
She is? That’s amazing!
I'm all for giving Jeremy Irons credit, I really really am, because he was BRILLIANT. But...why do youtube channels keep using clips that were dubbed by Jim Cummings? (Cummings had to take over for part of the "Be Prepared" song because Irons temporarily lost his voice)
97: Laurie Metclaff should have recognition as well. She voiced Jim’s mom. Might be a small role but anyone can relate to a mom character
Tim Curry is the best as he can play both a villain like IT and a loveable character like Nigel Thornberry. Cree Summers is wonderful as I expect her to play beautiful dark coloured characters. Love Kieth David he can play my villains and heroes with charms. Oh, Vincent Price is great when I saw 13 ghost of Snobby Doo I can't see anyone else to play Vincent Van Spectra. David Ogden Stiers can really bring that charm or hating that villain but loving that sweet kind character. John Hurt has that voice for the scary villain just perfect. Donna Murphy my god she made Mother Gothel wickedly villainous. Chris Sanders as amazing because I didn't know was him until I place the movie on for my younger cousin and read the credit of Lilo & Stitch. Tom Hulce gives a voice for calm, sorrow and joy is perfect. My God Jeremy Irons as Scar was great and I love how he bought the song Be Prepared as one of my favorite Disney Villains songs ever (ruin in the Live Action) his voice fits the charm that is of a villain.
99: The number one that’s highly underrated is Susan Sheridan, the voice of Princess Eilonwy. The movie has this Princess forgotten in The Bronze Age. She may not have gotten a song like other Disney Princesses but she deserves better
Yeah!!
How can you be underrated when you have the best villain songs. Be prepared is a whole ass bop.
Let's not forget Edna Mode - director Brad Bird from "The Incredibles" 😉
100: What can I say except knowing that is a great list
I'm not certain Jeremy Irons' has been underrated. He's often held up as a standout performance; not an easy feat in a cast that also includes James Earl Jones, Cheech Marin, Whoopi Golderg, Nathan Lane and Robert Guillaume.
- Miley Cyrus as Penny
feat. Chloe Grace Moretz
⚡ "Bolt" (2008)
Keith David as Dr Facilier is my first introduction to him as well as my favorite character he's ever played since Dr Facilier is my favorite Disney villain of all time 👏🏻😈❤🎶
I LOVE how so MANY of these characters are VILLAINS. That makes me all the more HAPPIER!!!!!!!
I just love Kida's voice. She holds the magic of the story.
87: Speaking of villains, I did a video of Tim Curry and Vincent Price together while singing their villain songs
Idris Elba (overall great at voice acting) did pretty good as Chief Bogo
Atlantis is so underrated. Love this movie.
92: Mother Gothel isn’t the “Mother of the Year”. I just can’t get this out of my head. She’s not just a villainous manipulator but she actually had a daughter in the animated series she left behind as a unknown character for selfish deeds
Professor Ratigan Vincent Prince was just perfect Jeremy Irons as Scar perfect, Keith David as Dr. Facilier perfect Disney villains at their very best!
That is very understandable!
90: I’m still shocked that a actor voices the villain and the villain sidekick. I was unaware at a kid but in honesty, I’m not a huge fan of the villain but Higgins makes me laugh
I feel as though Jeremy Irons and Tom Hulce should be switched, and the only reason Scar made the top spot is because the Lion King is more popular
Well, duh. Mojo just wants to pander and conform to popular opinion as much as possible. Isn't it obvious? 🤷♀
@@1992disney that’s what I was trying to say, and that they should be ranking who they think should be on the list not who people like to watch
@@ToPureToBePink Exactly. They're more worried about losing viewers than giving those who have every right to be on lists like this.
Yes mother gothel!! She sounds amazingg
Scar is the only reason half of us watch the lion king, I’d hardly call him underrated.
94: Justice for Tom Hulce. I like his character and his song Out There
Atlantis should have been a big movie. It’s a shame
How was Jeremy Irons underrated? It was a great performance, but everyone acknowledges it. Putting him at the top spot is like saying “James Earl Jones is a great actor, but do you know what role of his everyone sleeps on? Darth Vader.”
98: Ben Wright should’ve also be on this list. He might be a big star in The Sound of Music but he voiced Rodger Ratcliffe in One Hundred and One Dalmatians
Few people talk about Tony Jay as Claude Frollo, Eva Gabor as Miss Bianca, Pearl Bailey as Big Mama, Emma Thompson as Captain Amelia, Linda Hunt as Grandmother Willow, Jim Varney as Cookie, Geraldine Paige as Madame Medusa, Randy Quaid as Alameda Slim, Miguel Ferrer as Shan Yu, or Brian Blessed as Clayton, just to name a few. These are actors who have or had great voices and therefore deserve more recognition than they get
I agree with the list, but Kida deserves to be higher!
I don’t see people talking about voice actors in general though. I wouldn’t even know the actor behind the voice of most cartoon characters apart from Tom Kenny and Cree Summers because they’ve been in so many things I watched growing up
Yippeeeee~! Hulce made it!
95: I love the voices of Flora, Fauna and Merrywether in the animated original than the 2014 version
Dr. Facilier is the perfect villain. His presence and song are so strong that I simply miss in the movie a benevolent presence so markable and full of good energy as the Muses from Hercules and their songs.
Tim Curry is soooooooooooo underrated but I love his performances
0:06 the fact is that Jeremy Irons has vocal problems from the last part until Jim Cummings took over the lead.
Who has ever underrated Jeremy Irons' Scar?
Yeah, Jeremy Iron is not underrated; he and James Earl Jones are the best.
Very very great epic list I like it a lot very very great job mis mojo one of my absolute favorite list ever 😊❤
underrated disney voice preformances there are so many and for what its worth you should do a tv list
I am very happy Susan Egan is on this list.😁 Honestly I wish they put her in #1 or #2 but I’m fine with honorable mentions.😌

@@marleecorrell1486 Yes. It's *LeGume.* That's Gaston's last name.
Don't forget Rob Paulsen as one of Cinderella's mom's friend from Cinderella 2 and Cinderella 3
Can't wait to watch this so I can 1 fill the TOH hole in my heart and 2 Iike the concept already!!❤
Brian Blessed as Clayton from Tarzan, Ian Holm and Janeanne Garofalno as Skiner and Colette from ratatoui , Jenny Slade as Bellwether , James Garner as Lyle from Atlantis the lost empire are also underrated.
I can’t believe you think Jeremy Iron’s performance is underrated.
i find it funny how Keith David voices both the villain from Disney’s frog movie and the villain from Disney’s frog cartoon show
"is it the frank or the beans?" - Keith David
Tim curry is always great in movies i loved him as lord darkness in legend especially with having to work through all that makeup also keith david was great as dr facilier as well as the arbiter in the halo franchise
Are you serious? Nobody even mentioned Betty Lou Gerson Angelina Jolie James Woods Jonathan Freeman or even Eartha Kit? As Cruella Jafar Hades Yzma or Maleficent? They’re so underrated!
All voice actors should get a lot of credit for what they do, even if the role is only on screen for a few seconds.
One of my favorite Disney villains. Jeremy Irons is what made Scar, it wasn't the same without him in the live version, I would have liked it better if he would have voiced him, in fact I had to come straight home and watch the cartoon as to not have it ruined for me.
1. Tangled
2. Frozen
3. The Little Mermaid
4. Tarzan
5. Mulan
6. Pocahontas
7. Atlantis The Lost Empire
8. The Black Cauldron
9. The Lion King
10. Raya and The Last Dragan
11. Oliver and Company
12. The Hunchback of Norte Dame
13. The Princess and The Frog
14. Beauty and The Beast Enchanted Christmas
15. Anastasia
16. Brother Bear
My Favorite Best Disney movies with the Best voice actors and actresses ever
Love John hurt RIP also loved him in 1984
What about Roger Miller as Alan-a-Dale from Robin Hood? he's so underrated in my opinion (as well as Opetaia Foa'i as Matai Vasa since he only sings and doesn't speak)
i would title this as My League of Extraordinary Gentlemen
Do a top 🔝150 celebrities who you 🧒 forgot were in magical 🧝♀️ girl 👧 animes (including Pretty Cure, sequels and 🐜 reboots)
Brian Murray as John Silver only an honorable mention?! Are you kidding me, Mojo?! Did Murray's vocal portrayal of the cutthroat, ruthless, and menacing cyborg pirate with a heart of gold not satisfy you enough to consider making that more than an honorable mention?! You included his Makings of Greatness speech, but even that wasn't good enough for you to put it on this list?! What kind of taste do you really have?! Why do you always have to keep treating Treasure Planet like it's some second rate movie?! And of course you had to make Lion King number one for the millionth time! If I were you guys, I'd put Murray as Silver on the top spot instead of Jeremy Irons as Scar because Murray's performance as Silver was not only just incredible, but it was also CRIMINALLY-UNDERRATED along with TP! I don't get why you guys even think that Irons' performance as Scar is underrated, when The Lion King's still one of the most popular animated movies ever! I'm so sick and tired of this bias and favoritism! 😡😤
Jermoney irons and Tim curry.. two of my favorite actors
David Ogden Stiers doesn't get nearly enough recognition for Governor Ratcliffe and Wiggins. He did such a great job even making it so no one would ever know at first that they were played by the same person.
7:23 BTW, always loved Ben's face there right after he said, "Just loading the last bit of cargo." It always reminded me of the face a person sometimes makes when they're saying, "Heh, heh, get my little pun there?"😆
Brad Bird as EDNA MODE❤❤❤
