- Well, it is finally here - MOVING DAY! After spending weeks downsizing, decluttering, and minimizing our possessions, we are finally ready to pack everything we own into our two vehicles and head out across the country! Today, I'm sharing a little more decluttering and a few last-minute preparations as well as some of our journey after hitting the road!
I hope it gives you lots of motivation whether you are moving as well or just wanting to minimize your possessions.

Decluttering and Moving Resources:

Where we sold the majority of our furniture: Craigslist and Offer Up
Where to take old towels and blankets: Check with your local animal shelter
Where to take unused toiletries: Check with local women's shelters. In Dallas, there is Exodus ministries
Where to donate gift bags/boxes (in good condition!): Check with your local donation center - ours takes them! I have also seen them for sale at the thrift store.
You can also list items for free in some areas through most of the same sites that you can sell on. We ended up putting FOR FREE signs on some of our stuff at the last minute and setting it by our door and everything got taken!

Oooooh that scene on your last night @ old apt !! Soooo familiar & relatable. Happens every time ! After ALL the work of major purging / organizing / packing ... and then still this random stuff . Wow ! I’m just subscribing today @ 1.39 K ! I’m new here. Excellent job with the move wow ! I’m so impressed! And your son is adorrrable , & such a good traveler, & “helper” with packing ! I’m confused tho : in part 2 vid of your big pre move downsizing, I thought you said you were moving to New Hampshire. Now Virginia ? Well .... VA is beautiful ! I’ve been there , but not in decades. ( Charlottesville & Richmond) . And it’s not aa cold as NH !
We are moving from the Dallas area to Las Vegas in one car but will have to move a small load by moving company.
I keep looking for more videos.

What did you do with all your furniture? We are about to move and we are hiring a 4metre van to move the furniture but we aren’t keeping all of it so I just hope it fits!
We sold the majority of it. What we didn't sell we took it apart and moved it with us, that way it took up less space when being transported

We are moving to NH in the Fall. For the next couple of months we will be in VA

When I was watching the first 2 videos, I was thinking "they can't really fit all that in their vehicles can they??" ... guess not lol.
Lol, I know! It was quite the feat. I definitely underestimated how difficult it would be!
Too much stuff! I’ve been there. You think you e downsized to basics until you go to move it! Whew.
So true! Moving really does make you realize exactly how much stuff you have
