      VERY well put man. The phrasing is what makes a guitar player memorable. Plus you have to have the shade and the light ya know? It can't be all "weedly, weedly". If this solo was all fast runs, then that last part wouldn't stand out as it does. This is a great solo, bar none.

    • @foreversuperficial271
      @foreversuperficial271 2 года назад +41

      yes. and that's exactly why it's not that good. when i first heard this, the very first thing i've noticed is how flawless the other guy's soloing is
      then, when marty started playing, it's sloppy at times and even goes off-beat at times... but that's exactly why it's "better". it's just much much more soulful and it really sounds like a master on his own craft whereas the first one it really sounded like "a guitarist who memorised the solo"

    • @sirspongadoodle
      @sirspongadoodle 2 года назад +99

      @@foreversuperficial271 i disagree, being clean isnt something that robs the "soul" from your playing why would it??, nobody can play "flawless" its the same reason why sloppy double tracks sound bad but clean double tracks sound amazing.. the reason he sounds worse is purely his vibrato..

      @@sirspongadoodle i think what he meant is to sound robotic . as a drummer i agree with this statement , there is a reason why no one will replace and sound like dave lombardo former slayer drummer because the guy simply doesnt use triggers so his drumming sounds very chaotic and agressive while every other drummer sounds like a robot especially the base drums .so you can say the same for other instruments , sometimes not to try to be perfect just makes the whole thing sound better .
