- Ganesh Balakrishnan did his mechanical engineering from IIT Bombay and went on to work for quite a few years as an Engineer. It is around this time that he decided that an MBA would help him scale career heights which led him to take up CAT and crack IIM Bangalore eventually.

What happened after his IIM degree, how life panned out through multiple jobs and how he eventually decided to startup is what Ganesh discusses in this part of his conversation.
Ganesh talks in detail about his process of choosing mechanical engineering, what followed in his job and what led him to take up management. He discusses how a lot of work ex can come in as a barrier during your campus placement, even at an institute like IIM Bangalore.
He talks further about his selection at Bain & Co., working as an analyst, spending time at Honeywell and how the idea of starting up came his way.

You guys should also bring people from IIM ABC 1 yr pgpx epgp and mbax that's where you get all sorts of diversity people who clawed their way up instead of bringing a standard framework just doing LinkedIn search you can find all, please consider as the discussion will be very enriching!

@@InsideIIMKonversations team no offense but I'm a fan of these videos hence felt for the benefit of larger audience comment was necessary. ABC 1yr program has stronger profiles compared to 2yrs as the candidate mix is very diverse from army majors to energy to IT to civil engineers, given they have 7-12 yrs of workex the insights will be very different bcz of their profiles

Not sure about the content of this video but just seen the thumbnail .. and I am thinking how misguiding it is.... Not even a single company will give you a job in management consulting untill and unless you are not from IIM specially ABC... So yes tag matters...even in a long term as well . When you are going for funding , job switch etc.otherwise people are not idiots those craving for IIMs ... Warna koi chota mota course hi kar lete upgrade,Udemy, Coursera se
