Masada For The Win: IWI Pops One

  • IWI weighs in with a 26 oz pistol that makes a statement. At least here in TNP. It might look similar to some other guns but the Masada has its own personality and if it reminded us of any other guns (like the VP9) it was only a good thing.
    Shot on multiple outings in the desert, we learned the Masada well. This included a snow storm as well. Important things like ergos, SAWC, accuracy, reliability, sighting and more are all covered in this feature length GRV. We take it back to the table top where an Israeli A4 Skyhawk and IWI Tavor (discussed) will keep us company. There are many outstanding GTW handguns covered here to this point, most are recommended. The Masada enters the fray and just may emerge as another go to option for good civilians and LE.

    Hi TNPrs! Project still strong and working hard. Remember TNP Patreon gets the videos first and some never post on the main channel! Here's some TNPr comments from Patreon, join the fun and full flow of TNP content: www.patreon.com/Nutnfancy
    "Joe Hardy I know it's a minor thing, but props to IWI for giving their firearms cool names, instead of alphanumeric designations. 2 3w The Nutnfancy Project AGREE! 3 3w Load 2 replies Powernoodle In an increasing crowded market - which is good news for the consumer - aesthetics and the overall vibe you get from a pistol can make the difference between success and failure. While 2nd cool is subjective, I think the Masada excels in the aesthetics and good vibes department. Well done Brother Nutn, and continued prayers for healing and full recovery. 3w The Nutnfancy Project All xlnt observations and thanks PN 1 3w J Ram Hey Nuttin, from an aesthetics perspective, I recall you and Gerdine talking about how the Ruger American, having an "ugly butt" and not being attractive. How does the Masada get a pass on an almost identical frame? Not looking for any vindication on the American (it is what it is, we like what we like), I'm just looking to understand the difference in your opinion (e.g. is there a 2C aspect to it in your opinion). Side note, nice upgrades to the swiss legends watch sir. Oh, and we don't mind long GRVs.....so keep them coming. 1 3w Doug Styles Very cool. I need to get my hands on one of these and would hedge my bets on it's long term track record potential. PPQ vid was my intro to TNP and is still a favorite polymer 9 (esp after adding Dawson Precision sights). 3w Pvt_Schmuckatelli Hey, Nutn'! Love you. Love your show. I woke up today and saw I had...not one...but two notifications on my Patreon app. Even while you're on light duty, you are still executing to the highest standards of excellence. Thanks for the GRV. Going to watch the WRV next. Take care and follow the doctor's advice so you recover quickly. Tango Yankee Victor Mike. 3w BRIAN J ANDERSON Holy cow! another pistol with almost all good qualities and features and price too!! So many choices makes a first time buyers decision difficult and those who already have pistols wish they had more!! 2nd cool and want vs. need in play! 3w JASON ARMSTRONG Want. Just need to fine one in California. Sellers, contact me. 3w Gary Boss The Masada is a bit ugly but I'm now thinking about getting one. I bought a Steyr and Canik so what's one more? Take care of yourself. 3w The Nutnfancy Project You are wise to have a collection of these fine guns, love both of the other ones you list as well! 3w Scout154 I just played with one at a local gun store last week! It feels really good in the hand. I would like to shoot one, but right now for me the next handgun I buy is going to be the Steyr Arms M9 A1. I have been lusting after one for years now. 3w Gary Boss I really like my Steyr M9 - probably my favorite handgun now. Just go get it... 1 3w Load 2 replies SURVIVOR Keep kicking ass my man throwing prayers your way 3w The Nutnfancy Project Thanks, I'll take 'em 3w Phill Super Nuttn, how about a comparison and recommendations video for value weapon lights including the TRL-1&2, TRL-7&8, and Protac 1L & HL-X? It was helpful for me when I did a side by side comparison of them them inside and outside to get a good feel for area illumination (SA and walking) and their reach. 3w The Nutnfancy Project I like the idea but I don't want to buy or loan them. What I'll do is mention them as competitive options. Most are really good these days. 3w Jerry Hall Always appreciate your hard work. Recover quickly. 3w The Nutnfancy Project Thank you! 3w HappyFrancisMacomber Canik TP9 SF had been my most impressive value 9mm to date. Will have to shoot the IWI. 1 3w The Nutnfancy Project TP9 is amazing 1 3w Load 1 reply Justin Carwile I’d be kinda interested in a long slide version of this pistol. 3w Joe This looks like a winner, if I weren't already set I'd look at these for sure. Great job reviewing with damaged shoulder 3w The Nutnfancy Project Thanks...show chugs onward. 3w Zak Orendorff Man that honey badger knife is amazing. I have it in 8cr and D2. Cant believe how cheap they are. Chinese knife companies are knocking it out of the park with stuff like this not to mention how amazing budget knives are now these days. 3w The Nutnfancy Project "Chinese knife companies are knocking it out of the park with stuff like this not to mention how amazing budget knives are now these days" Totally agree. The Honey Badger is one of my all time fave EDC blades...that's saying something. 1 3w Load 1 reply Dan Great GRV Nutn! Hope you are healing well! 3w Tacticaldoodle I wonder if people will take issue with the name again these days. I remember when the Magpul Masada came out there were whispers of all kinds of conspiracy and they had to put out a press release explaining their reasoning. It makes more sense coming from IWI at least. IIRC it was a seige where the defenders stood up to the romans and fought/starved to death over surrender. 3w Racing Psychosis Actually I think it was mass suicide rather than surrender, but then most of my studying of Roman history is related to England and Gaul. 3w Chris Marchi So what is the vest rig you have there? 3w Lon N Per usual - excellent review bypassing the usual YT tactical elite drek. Have you given any thought to a Polymer 80 glock build review, or even better a PF45 build? I must confess to having a "bit" of a 45 acp bias after growing up reading Col. Cooper. 3w Racing Psychosis The Polymer 80's in 9mm that I have shot function and yea they are Glocks. The grip angle is different which definitely fits with some people that dislike Glock. I don't dislike Glock, but the P80 Glock 19ish just points super well to me. But honestly, unless you like building, you can buy a factory made striker fire pistol for less.michael szymborski Thanks for the review, hope you are healing up! 3w Racing Psychosis Another, the Canik TP9SF, I've shot is super awesome for the price point. 3w Garrett Boone Wow do I love and miss table tops! Thanks nutn. Also, I don’t see why you like the form factor of the Masada but not the 19x? Same barrel to grip ratio 3w Harold Galen McPheron Great review.... 3w Andrey Shlyakt What do higher price point pistols like the VP9 and most CZs have over stuff like the Canik and Masada and that category? I'm curious because I've had my sights set on a VP9 but all this competition is making it difficult! 3w Pedro Track records, more accessories due to age, public perception. 3w Load 1 reply Arthur Krieger More value value value. Much love Nutn, this is what we're here for. 3w david rockwell The Masada like the Steyr A2 is a great choice for new shooters. More experienced shooters should be mentioning alternatives to Glock and S&W. There has been some incremental innovation and value offered by non-traditional firearms manufacturers. Thank you for the continued effort and dedication. 3w Kevin Sanderson The format of “full sized grip and compact frame” continues, and everyone loves it, but the 19X and G45 got tons of hate. The internet is full of amnesiacs. 2w Thomas Nemcek I absolutely LOVE my Masada. I mounted a Trijicon RMR and it is LETHAL. I also love my Jericho 941. The trigger on that is unbelievable. It IS heavier, but the tradeoff is less muzzle flip (especially with the CZ-75 slide design) and felt recoil. Thanks for the review Nutn. Praying for your speedy recovery! 2w Chris This was an excellent review nice to see there's some high value still out there!"

      Guys it's not $5 per video it's whatever you want it to be. And yeah his sentiment was right before about not using p atreon because he got paid for views now he don't. This stuff is not cheap. Production and quality of vids are superior to most channels and he gives honest reviews. I'm a patreon member because of his watch reviews and if we don't support watch reviews then they may go away. So I choose to pay for what I want and enjoy. Hell just using his discount codes will pay for patreon. Why should it be free he does all the work spends all his money and you want to bitch because he gets people who want to support the project and ensure it continues.

    • @svenblubber5448
      @svenblubber5448 4 года назад +1

      @@Pozilla-xh8xv There are enough chanels that have paetreon without hiding content behind paywalls! If your content is good enough people will support you if they can on principle, even if all content remains free to see for all who can't afford to pay!
      Also I would be less critical if he hadn't trashtalked people who ask for paetreon support before doing the same, and if he weren't continually whining about essentially only doing it for the money...

    I'm actually glad to finally see a gun or two that us forcing the gun field to up it's game. But it's gotten to where companies were just rehashing stale ideas; not knocking the Masasda, but saying just in general.
    I wanna see companies really push the conceptual boundaries. Examples like the rumored "alien gun" where the barrel is actually on the bottom on the slide that supposedly decreases recoil, or polymer infused tungsten frames, striker fires having already optic milled options, Glock's striker block/backplate feature to become something of a option for all striker fired.
    The options need to expand so the already saturated market at least has some color to it.

    Speaking of compact, I said this before, but please PLEASE review the Honor Defense Honor Guard! They fixed the P320-like drop safety issue, so that Honor Guard is back as a great competitor to the M&P Shield, which lack the ambidextrous controls the other M&P handguns have. That being said, you drive me crazy when you say that the 3-5 ounces difference in a polymer pistol is a big deal for things like backpacking or anything really. Here is why I do not think it is (this only applies to pistols, not long guns, bull pups, etc):people generally only carry one pistol. Ounces would matter if they were carrying like 5-10 pistols. But I’m sorry, nobody is gonna be like “ok, time out! Whew! Damn, I should have bought a Glock 19 because this Sig P320 is just kicking my ass!”(do not own either of these guns). Ounces matter when they are added together, but for one piece of equipment, I don’t see a few ounces mattering AT ALL.
    For EDC, it might mean the difference between being able to carry iwb with workout shorts/pants on. I’m talking standard 4” barrel Glock 19 sized pistols.
    Also, the older I get, the more I realize how not unique/not original I am. People can be very different but people are definitely way more similar than they are different. I feel like if I made out some elaborate plan for a WROL/economic collapse situation, it would be sabotaged by other people who had the same exact idea I did. Trust me, no matter how unique I think a plan is, someone else has thought of it.

    The VP9 height was always the same as the glock 17, but it held 15 rounds not 17 as the glock 17 did. Now it holds 17 will you be reviewing that again for 2020 or at least a table top review of the upgrade.

      @@jiheemvohor9720 the HK Vp9 is the heaviest of the 3. It also has a slightly taller slide and slightly higher bore axis. I’ve had that with other pistols where the ammunition had not been stored correctly and therefore was defective. Also I’ve heard that some under powered American made ammunition does not cycle in some foreign made pistols 100% . that said I think they probably accounted for that when you listen to the American market
