I’m an Australian living and working in Russia. Russians as a whole are wonderful people. No animosity towards people who have harmed them in the past. Very forgiving. It’s a safe place. No problems at all. The language is difficult for me but I haven’t found the time to immerse myself in lessons. I get the usual comments from outsiders about why I’m in Russia. Having a kind a loving Russian wife helps)). People assume Russians are not informed - it’s far from the truth.
Absolutely agree with you about Russian magnanimity to the ex enemies. It amuses me quite a lot. You come across here and there in history facts or classic Russian literature about the soldiers of Napoleon army who were left in Russia due to injuries or any other reason, stayed and found their new home there and were treated even better than many Russians. No hatred to Germans who killed millions of people in WW2 either. However the neighboring nations that were the victims of the Empire or Communist Russia are demanding everlasting remorse and apologies from the Russians. So mean.

I am African living in Australia since 2007, many people I speak to about Russia, wow they hate Putin too much for no reason but what they listen and watch on MSM western media. Just on Friday at work this dude maybe in 60s he was ignorant about Russia and Putin. He was spewing hatred and if that dude was with Putin in one room, Putin better be careful. Я в последнее время постоянно об этом задумываюсь, что в 70-80, может и раньше, когда были детьми мы не сомневались в освоении космоса человечеством, полет к далёким звёздам. А затем кто то убил эту мечту. Конечно в каком то виде она осталась, но кто из детей хочет стать космонавтом?
Пока существует капитализм фундаментальная наука не будет приоритетной, и космические исследования соответственно тоже. Космос не приносит денег, и финансироваться он будет по остаточному принципу. Пока странам вечно не будет хватать ресурсов и денег для поддержания благополучия своего населения, ни о каком космосе мечтать не приходится. А им всегда будет не хватать по известным причинам. Хорошо что периодически запускают хотя бы автоматические станции, тот же Китай.

Don't underestimate the Western propaganda system. The Western propaganda is much more superior to the Russian one. Only a few could doubt what they're being fed. I come across many people from the different Western countries. They're typically biased agaist Russia if not brainwashed to the core.

The people in civilian life is a completely separate topic that is not reported on except that civilians cannot criticise the government. But I have followed quite a few civilian Russian channels that cover different aspects of Russian life from life in the developed cities and towns to the totally neglected ones - where in the latter there is rare rubbish collection never mind recycling bins - the different life of different people, travel and nature in the different parts of the Federation.. Life of many parts reminded me much of life back in the 1960's in Ireland when people had allotments and parents or grandparents living in the rural areas on small holdings and from where we got our vegetables, turkeys or bacon etc from home raised and killed animals, home knitting brought in a bit of extra cash to very rural homes. There wasn't much cash to spare but many were happy enough getting by. But there was also high unemployment and alcoholism etc.. young people moving to the city for higher education and work - or emigrating.. or for seasonal farm work or as building labourers in Britain.

Thanks for watching. It is amazing to see the deliberate ignorance of people in Europe, Australia and America. I remember when Australia had less rules and police were respected more or less. Now you can't do anything without a permit and the police are seen as thugs. With some of the recent politically motivated arrests recently you could say they are just a private military for the rich and powerful.
@@82acresfarm Russia has even less freedom. Unless you have contacts in the government, your rights are not protected in any way. The government is completely irresponsible to the people. It is impossible to influence it. Rallies and strikes are forbidden. There are a lot of problems in the West, but at least I can't imagine that Australia can attack New Zealand and spend a hundred billion dollars to destroy their cities.

Absolutely the same sentiments here. I've been living in Russia for almost 8 years. Quite a few people I knew well have treated me as though I've changed and somehow know less about what's going on here than they do back in the UK, because I've been swept in by Russian propaganda. A month back in the UK almost drove me crazy -meeting new people, or folks I hadn't met for a while, I tried to avoid saying where I lived, but people asked. When you meet a person with an open mind, it feels like a very special moment though- a bit like meeting a real human in "Invasion of the Body Snatchers"!!

Good video. I’ve been studying Russian for the last year. I just got back from two weeks between Moscow and Saint Petersburg and certainly everything that was said in this video I concur with. I had a great time, and I also spent a lot of time beforehand making a lot of friends through Telegram in the cities, so I actually had people waiting for me when I got there and that was fun. I got to try and get introduced to a lot of things. I don’t think my wife would be game for moving, and one of the reasons that I am not sure that I am ready to move is because I feel like there is still an opportunity to wage a fight to save the United States. I’m a Texan, I know American history, I am also 49 years old, and I do fear for the condition of the United States. I do think that Europe is lost, I found kinship with people in Russia. But you gave me something to think about.

Русский так не выучишь. Испанский - один из самых лёгких языков. Во всяком случае в повседневном варианте, если вы не актер или лингвист. А глаголы движения - это вообще адский адъ, их очень много и они строго ускоспециализированные. Все эти входить, выходить, подходить, переходить, недоходрть, заходить. Есть ещё измерение однократность/регулярности: иду/хожу. Есть ещё измерение времени/намерения: иду, пойду/схожу. И так далее. Глаголы движения - это прям сотни часов практики. И без них - никак.

Pretty funny the American expat went out of his way to say “everything made by the government is outside of capitalism so there’s no competition to inspire excellence” and then immediately afterwards talked about how excellent a government service is in Russia. Seems like the platitude about capitalism producing excellence and socialism doesn’t motivate people isn’t really true.

I personally know several people who have moved to Russia from the EU. They are mostly Russian speaking people though. There is a Facebook group of the EU expats to Russia where people share their experience and one could receive a piece of advise on the subject if needed. Europe is in a huge decline - it's values, democracy, the freedom of speech - and the aftermath of the Ukrainian war is making it worse and worse. Mass madness in hysterical desire to wreck Russia eventhough the outcome is to be devastating to themselves. No common sense at all. And those who have got one are called pro-Russian and pro-Putin, lol.

Было ли у вас ощущение, что мы, русские, как будто маленько не доверяем англосаксам/западным людям? Как вы и сказали для нас важна искренность и доверие, но я никогда на это не обращал внимание, ведь мы русские тоже ведь всех друг друга не знаем и нам когда-нибудь всем приходится впервые общаться, но мы на такую вещь не обращаем внимания т.к. это подсознательно с детства с нами и не ощущаем такого давления при первом общении. Я надеюсь вы понимаете о чем я, не о ненависти и пропаганды, а о том, какое мнение в обществе об американцах у нас сложилось. В основном нас учат с детства, что америка всегда обманывает и поэтому так сложно сдружится с американцами? Не обращали на это внимание? Просто интересно стало как мы ведем себя со стороны, потому что мы то привыкли к этому в нашем обществе и никогда не задумывались об этом. I’m an Australian living and working in Russia. Russians as a whole are wonderful people. No animosity towards people who have harmed them in the past. Very forgiving. It’s a safe place. No problems at all. The language is difficult for me but I haven’t found the time to immerse myself in lessons. I get the usual comments from outsiders about why I’m in Russia. Having a kind a loving Russian wife helps)). People assume Russians are not informed - it’s far from the truth.
Absolutely agree with you about Russian magnanimity to the ex enemies. It amuses me quite a lot.
You come across here and there in history facts or classic Russian literature about the soldiers of Napoleon army who were left in Russia due to injuries or any other reason, stayed and found their new home there and were treated even better than many Russians. No hatred to Germans who killed millions of people in WW2 either. However the neighboring nations that were the victims of the Empire or Communist Russia are demanding everlasting remorse and apologies from the Russians. So mean.

I am African living in Australia since 2007, many people I speak to about Russia, wow they hate Putin too much for no reason but what they listen and watch on MSM western media. Just on Friday at work this dude maybe in 60s he was ignorant about Russia and Putin. He was spewing hatred and if that dude was with Putin in one room, Putin better be careful. To many people think Russia is Putin and Putin is Russia. It is like Russians are just robots under Putin control and command. Just listen to news it’s Putin Putin and nothing positive but hate and feeling hurt that Putin is alive. Nothing good as ever been said about Putin ever since I have been here 15 -16 years now.
I've watched his videos before (it popped up in my youtube feed before) he is a very cool guy 👍👍

Knowing the facts and the sequence of events since 1990, any opponent is not terrible. Be calm about attacks in the comments, study the chain of events, reasons and decisions taken by Russia - this is your reliable armor. Everything there is honest and strictly within the framework of international law, without cheating (unlike the Western manner of doing foreign affairs - constant cheating in your favor and distortion of facts).

Я в последнее время постоянно об этом задумываюсь, что в 70-80, может и раньше, когда были детьми мы не сомневались в освоении космоса человечеством, полет к далёким звёздам. А затем кто то убил эту мечту. Конечно в каком то виде она осталась, но кто из детей хочет стать космонавтом?
Пока существует капитализм фундаментальная наука не будет приоритетной, и космические исследования соответственно тоже. Космос не приносит денег, и финансироваться он будет по остаточному принципу. Пока странам вечно не будет хватать ресурсов и денег для поддержания благополучия своего населения, ни о каком космосе мечтать не приходится. А им всегда будет не хватать по известным причинам. Хорошо что периодически запускают хотя бы автоматические станции, тот же Китай.

Don't underestimate the Western propaganda system. The Western propaganda is much more superior to the Russian one. Only a few could doubt what they're being fed. I come across many people from the different Western countries. They're typically biased agaist Russia if not brainwashed to the core.

All foreign reporting on Russia is about political Russia is the Government policies.
The people in civilian life is a completely separate topic that is not reported on except that civilians cannot criticise the government.
But I have followed quite a few civilian Russian channels that cover different aspects of Russian life from life in the developed cities and towns to the totally neglected ones - where in the latter there is rare rubbish collection never mind recycling bins - the different life of different people, travel and nature in the different parts of the Federation..
Life of many parts reminded me much of life back in the 1960's in Ireland when people had allotments and parents or grandparents living in the rural areas on small holdings and from where we got our vegetables, turkeys or bacon etc from home raised and killed animals, home knitting brought in a bit of extra cash to very rural homes. There wasn't much cash to spare but many were happy enough getting by.
But there was also high unemployment and alcoholism etc.. young people moving to the city for higher education and work - or emigrating.. or for seasonal farm work or as building labourers in Britain.
I wish I lived in Russia. Sadly I may never even have the chance to visit.

Great interview, I think for foreigners who want to move to Russia, such interviews are useful. Justin, by the way, has become more Russian - there is no European "friendly" smile like an American.)) And I also think that now Russia has a real chance to become such a Noah's Ark - Russia needs to promote the concept of a country for people and families with traditional family values! Absolutely the same sentiments here. I've been living in Russia for almost 8 years. Quite a few people I knew well have treated me as though I've changed and somehow know less about what's going on here than they do back in the UK, because I've been swept in by Russian propaganda.
A month back in the UK almost drove me crazy -meeting new people, or folks I hadn't met for a while, I tried to avoid saying where I lived, but people asked. When you meet a person with an open mind, it feels like a very special moment though- a bit like meeting a real human in "Invasion of the Body Snatchers"!!

Good video. I’ve been studying Russian for the last year. I just got back from two weeks between Moscow and Saint Petersburg and certainly everything that was said in this video I concur with. I had a great time, and I also spent a lot of time beforehand making a lot of friends through Telegram in the cities, so I actually had people waiting for me when I got there and that was fun. I got to try and get introduced to a lot of things. I don’t think my wife would be game for moving, and one of the reasons that I am not sure that I am ready to move is because I feel like there is still an opportunity to wage a fight to save the United States. I’m a Texan, I know American history, I am also 49 years old, and I do fear for the condition of the United States. I do think that Europe is lost, I found kinship with people in Russia. But you gave me something to think about.

Русский так не выучишь. Испанский - один из самых лёгких языков. Во всяком случае в повседневном варианте, если вы не актер или лингвист.
А глаголы движения - это вообще адский адъ, их очень много и они строго ускоспециализированные. Все эти входить, выходить, подходить, переходить, недоходрть, заходить. Есть ещё измерение однократность/регулярности: иду/хожу. Есть ещё измерение времени/намерения: иду, пойду/схожу. И так далее.
Глаголы движения - это прям сотни часов практики. И без них - никак.

Pretty funny the American expat went out of his way to say “everything made by the government is outside of capitalism so there’s no competition to inspire excellence” and then immediately afterwards talked about how excellent a government service is in Russia. Seems like the platitude about capitalism producing excellence and socialism doesn’t motivate people isn’t really true.

I personally know several people who have moved to Russia from the EU. They are mostly Russian speaking people though. There is a Facebook group of the EU expats to Russia where people share their experience and one could receive a piece of advise on the subject if needed.
Europe is in a huge decline - it's values, democracy, the freedom of speech - and the aftermath of the Ukrainian war is making it worse and worse. Mass madness in hysterical desire to wreck Russia eventhough the outcome is to be devastating to themselves. No common sense at all. And those who have got one are called pro-Russian and pro-Putin, lol.
I love listening to the stories of real Americans. It is sad that RUclips and Google have been intentionally blocking some content from stories that are touching on sensitive subjects.

У меня вопрос к обоим после того как вы рассказали как русские впервые видят/знакомятся с человеком. Было ли у вас ощущение, что мы, русские, как будто маленько не доверяем англосаксам/западным людям? Как вы и сказали для нас важна искренность и доверие, но я никогда на это не обращал внимание, ведь мы русские тоже ведь всех друг друга не знаем и нам когда-нибудь всем приходится впервые общаться, но мы на такую вещь не обращаем внимания т.к. это подсознательно с детства с нами и не ощущаем такого давления при первом общении. Я надеюсь вы понимаете о чем я, не о ненависти и пропаганды, а о том, какое мнение в обществе об американцах у нас сложилось. В основном нас учат с детства, что америка всегда обманывает и поэтому так сложно сдружится с американцами? Не обращали на это внимание? Просто интересно стало как мы ведем себя со стороны, потому что мы то привыкли к этому в нашем обществе и никогда не задумывались об этом. Ещё мы любим шутить на тему "раз ты американец, значит шпион)", и я думаю, американцы обижаются на эти шутки, хотя это всего лишь для русских это шутка для шутки, и не для того чтобы обидеть.
Ну про шпионов с русскими они точно так же шутят)
Пропаганда до добра ещё не кого не доводило, желаю западу смотреть на мир и особенно на себя совсем с другой стороны, чтобы потом понять какого быть изгоем для своих граждан и своей страны.
