@@gtk_NOvcas, opamps etc on every channel. There are three different saturation circuits per channel as well so choosing different “plugins” will ensue the selection of one or multiple of those circuits in different combinations. Gain reduction, limiting and saturation are happening in real analogue and it’s all real time. The reason why there are about 2000 samples of latency at 44.1/48 is because of the way DAWs process audio buffers but rest assured the digital signal being sent via Thunderbolt is converted to analogue (by full 32 bit AKM converters I should add), processed in full analogue and simply converted back by those AKM chips and back up the Thunderbolt cable. All of that doesn’t take more than 4 milliseconds
I honestly can't think of a reason why someone would want to buy this. At first I thought it was a summing mixer with 8 channel strips. But this is literally worthless
if this has no way to upgrade ( doesn't have a bunch of different options - tubes, op amps, transformers etc) this is Snake Oil 1000%... My first thought as you switched was all the plugins you used all literally sound EXACTLY the same!!! I don't buy analog gear for all the same sound/ character lol If this had like 2 types of tubes, different transformers and actual changing of the circuit then it would be worth it...
How the fuck much? 😂😂 no thanks but great video
Looks like the worst of both worlds to me. Hardware with the ever present fear of janky drm implementation jump scares.
I was all set to defend mcdsp till I realized this was a hardware 'accellerator'.. seriously McDSP? maybe 15 years ago this would have been compelling. Non native plugins are a huge workflow bummer and time-suck.. simply not worth the headache and modern computers have more than enough power. hard pass
No it’s analog. I don’t think it’s worth the workflow either, but some people will. I wouldn’t want to work with tape either but some people love it. Why the complaints? If no one wants it no one will buy it. It’s that simple.
Main take away away from this is that Reaper seems like a nightmare
you sound like a flanger
Yeah, its a side effect from my home planet
He connects the whole thing and right away try plugin doctor, what is wrong with you guys? Didn't you know you have to use your ears? We don't have plugin doctorcrap. What a waste of money.
so you dont check your tools in every way possible (not just ears)? you do you

Freqport $1000 / 4-channels (2 sets of 2 tubes)
APB-8 $4000 / 8-channels (various Analog Signal Processor options)
APB-16 $7000 / 16-channels
My first question is always: Does it give me something that I don’t already have, or can’t easily or more cheaply get?
If it does, the next question is: Is it worth the price? And then: Can I afford it right now?
These have been out for a few years now, and everyone I know that got one is pleased.
I think the consensus is that: It ain’t cheap, but it is damn good.
thre is one problem the software is old now ucan get cheap suff soundinf fantastic well mcdsp sleep well
