Fun Fact: Painting out the boom is how movies like Gone Girl and TV shows like House of Cards captured dialogue.

Aaaaaaand this is how we sound guys get fired 😂
Great tips! It happened to me in my recent short film, and of course, it was the best take. The way I solved it was by duplicating the frame and maskin out the part with the boom using the same take, only seconds before it dipped into the frame. I found out later that the mask did not follow even tho it was a static shot. THe tripod moved slightly, but I did my best masking it out and it worked fine :-)
This is such good info! And a Clint Jones co-host!? So dope!
As a sound mixer I would suggest just recording wild tracks of the swings and ball hits. I think they would save some post money just dropping in sounds. Of course this won't work for every type of shoot but this tennis video would be easy...
Love this method. Especially if you already know some compositing. One of the reasons I learnt it. Out if necessity.
Not sure if I’m late here, but Sarah is amazing in this video! Sounding like a true professional! Overall well produced!
Hi! I would love a lighting breakdown of the intro scene, LOVE the look. I assume overhead diff, bounce on the right and reflector on the far left to create a backlight?
#TeamDeity 💯😎
Think I am gonna be watching this channel more lately… don’t know why ! 😊
Deity should do a verison of the Apture Holiday party. Called Deity Holiday Party.
I literally just bought the Bubble Bee Chroma Blue Spacer Bubble. So much easier to see when the boom is in the shot.
I have a hard time seeing the boom in the shot when it's just the black wind screen. The blue really helps it to stand out so I can see it.
Pwnonin for newbs! Haha totally something different but I’m subbing!
Hey guys. In that first example, you DO have a clean plate. It's any part of the take before the mic dips in!
Would y’all make smartphone vlogger kits like ride has because I would like to get one of y’all make it?
Why use a content aware fill when you had a clean shot before the boom dips in? Just use a small clip from a second ago.
I know him he was on corridor digital. I miss that guy.
I knew I recognized him
or.... you can get yourself a proper Boom Op. that won't f*ck up the takes. Like me for example 😁👍
Or you could just use Radio mics???
Right, which is what we said in the video. But boom dips happen.
they certainly do. :)@@DeityMicrophones
