Thanks my man. I was diagnosed with AIDS in 2012. From the start I wanted to learn all I could about the disease and I began with macro -level issues like the physiological effects of AIDS. Now I have shifted my focus to the components involved in those effects. And so I came to the question -- WTF is a T cell? Your vid was a great place to start. Clear, well-spoken, very informative.
    On with the hunt!

Great videos! Just wanted to mention that the Thymus is developed from the 3rd Branchial Pouch (not the 3rd "Brachial" Arch). Branchial Arches, Pouches, and Clefts all arise from the same precursor, namely the Branchial Apparatus (or Pharyngeal Apparatus). Might be minutia, but just wanted to clear that up just in case.

rather helpful to understand a key organ of the human body, Thymus . My key interest relating to this topic is "Beat Aging" , ie , develop translational technology for this purpose. Question: Anyone developing "Personalized Medicine" Model to Simulate a particular individual's Thymus ?

Wow! I was looking for stupid dog tricks and found this.
I didn't even know I had a Thymus. I have difficulty operating the Slurpee machine at 7-Eleven when I'm thirsty, but this made medulla, cortex, CD3, CD4, CD8, MHC1, MHC2 and negative selection self-reactive precursor cytotoxic apoptosis dendritic cells super easy peasy.
PCD seems so harsh though, kinda like how my aunt raises chickens with plans to ship them to WalMart where people buy them, put barbeque sauce on em and eat them with a side of coleslaw. The lymphocytes that make it to the lymph nodes are the winners because they're not chicken dinners.
Do you have any videos on Do-It-Yourself (DIY) brain surgery cause that's my next step to getting more smarterer so I can fix my brother. He's retarded --uh, like, you know, I mean mentally challenged.
Although that boy couldn't tell the difference between a Thalamus and a Thymus, he watches Homer Simpson and wants to work for Homeland Security guarding fissile material at the local power plant.
Whatever debt you had to society, you just done paid it off without going to prison. My probation officer says I can't get into medical school, but with your help I might get my GED. We should become friends...
Grassyass ameoba! That's spanish for "thank you friend", in case you didn't know.

DIY brain surgery follow up: important, don't let all the cerebral spinal fluid leak out.
Good to know my thymus involution is age based and not from watching Waterboy where I first learned about medullas, pacifically the medulla oblongata.
You know Hans and Franz? Pump up those macrophages!

Very informative, however I find your usage of = very annoiying because you use it for practically everything and that really pulls out its meaning. Although your (spoken) statements of course are correct it can be confusing to read CD4+ = MHC II.
Why not use an arrow or something instead? = should really mean "is equal to".
