that helped so much! Thanks very much indeed. I am fashioning a mooring harness for my boat to make single-handing onto and off a swing moor. Life is going to be so much better now!
Been through quite a few splicing videos and yours is by far the most detailed and easy to follow step by step video on RUclips. Thank you for numbering the strands and marking point “A” and “B” 😄🙌🏻
Hello Ayla! Thank you for your feedback. I'm so glad to hear that you found this helpful; I've not had any comments on this one before so I wasn't sure if I'd explained it very well!
@@WorkonaSuperyacht Agree it was very clear. I'd suggest using a mid tone background for black rope because the contrast makes it difficult to see - it was magically clearer on the wood background!
I agree. I've been through several videos and failed attempts. I can't try again at the moment, but I have no doubt that I'll succeed next time thanks to the clear instructions about strand #3, "over one and under the next", how to do the taper, and many other little gems sprinkled throughout this video. Great job.
Excellent video, clear and well explained. Maybe using a pointer to indicate details rather than a finger would also help. I have no desire to work on a superyacht but these skills are invaluable. Thank you.
The high contrast of the black rope against the white background resulted in a lack of detail of the rope making it very difficult to see exactly what you were doing. When you filmed against the background of the cutting board it was very much easier to see the detail of the rope. I think it would have been better to make the entire recording against the background of the wooden cutting board. I have watched dozens of "eye splice" videos and I'm still no closer to success. I just can't get past those first three tucks.
I think you have just done the best vid on this.............and by gum I have searched a few!
Thanks Alex! 😊

@The Darkroom UK Ltd Thank you for the feedback! I shall most definitely implement your suggestion for background colour on future ropework videos.

Thank you Stephen!

Thank you, Callum. I really appreciate you taking the time to leave some feedback.
Great stuff
Thanks 101!
Wish my job looked as neat.
What about a end splice? Do you have a tutorial on that?

So are you doing this fiddly work on your own free time or company time?
Does it matter! Very well executed knot.
Who cares dude?
