- I designed the first wall clock. It made entirely of wood. It developed drawing in stages. The number of gears can be calculated with computational tools. Igeargenarator.com . mechanical pendulum wall clock.
A clock is an instrument to indicate, keep, and co-ordinate time. The word clock is derived ultimately (via Dutch, Northern French, and Medieval Latin) from the Celtic words clagan and clocca meaning "bell". A silent instrument missing such a striking mechanism has traditionally been known as a timepiece.[1] In general usage today a "clock" refers to any device for measuring and displaying the time. Watches and other timepieces that can be carried on one's person are often distinguished from clocks.[2]
The clock is one of the oldest human inventions, meeting the need to consistently measure intervals of time shorter than the natural units: the day, the lunar month, and the year. Devices operating on several physical processes have been used over the millennia. A sundial shows the time by displaying the position of a shadow on a flat surface. There are a range of duration timers, a well-known example being the hourglass. Water clocks, along with the sundials, are possibly the oldest time-measuring instruments. A major advance occurred in Europe around 1300 with the invention of the escapement, which allowed construction of the first mechanical clocks, which used oscillating timekeepers like balance wheels.[3][4][5][6] Spring-driven clocks appeared during the 15th century. During the 15th and 16th centuries, clockmaking flourished. The next development in accuracy occurred after 1656 with the invention of the pendulum clock. A major stimulus to improving the accuracy and reliability of clocks was the importance of precise time-keeping for navigation. The electric clock was patented in 1840. The development of electronics in the 20th century led to clocks with no clockwork parts at all

El mejor reloj que he visto....los demas lo cortan con laser o cortadora, esto es artesanal.
Enjoyed the build. Well done. Keep up the great work.
Thanks
Cuanto trabajo !!! Muy bueno. Una excelente terminación. Admirable en verdad. Saludo. Daniel. Argentina 🇦🇷
thanks.
Lot of patience!
Bravo!
Great work! What I like most is the fact that the clock looks handmade.
thank you
I will watch your other videos as well.
looping music is very passé and annoying, but clock demo was good. thanks.
Herkese tavsiye ederim çok güzel bir kanal

Impressive to say the least. Well done my friend.
Güzel bir calisma, paylasim icin tesekkurler.
Artisan meets engineer. Superb work my friend. Inspirational. Looking forward to your next project.
I'm impressed that you used hand-held tools for this. Fantastic. I find it better than the lot of the other clocks I've seen out here on the net. Great work! You should be very proud!
FYI: I don't want to hijack the video, but for those who are looking for a "quick" way to do ratios, if asked, I can offer a way. Maybe the owner of the video might like it. Remember I said "quick", not completely "easy" depending on your maths skills ... it is a machine after all. :D
Again, great video - you are inspiring! Thank you!
thanks. what is offer a way. ?
@ With you permission ...
First, you need to know if you're doing 12-hour or 24-hour dials, and how many teeth and what kind of escapement you wish. After that, do the following:
Say your pendulum period is 2 (about a 94 cm length that "beats" 60 times per minute). Then multiply that by 60 to get beats per hour (3600), then divide by TWICE the number of teeth (if you have a 30-tooth wheel, the divide by 60). That will give you the revolutions of the scape wheel in an hour (in this case 60). Now, multiply that by 12 (for a 12-hour dial). You know have 720. So the scape wheel will rotate 720 times to each 12-hour single rotation of the final wheel.
Now start dividing by numbers smaller than 10, for example SIX. That would leave you with 120, so divide by SIX again. That leaves you with twenty, which is divisible by FIVE and FOUR. So, your gear train must have a 6 - 6 - 5 - 4 ratio set.
Now simply do the pinion/wheel matching. Start from either end, but I kind of start from the scape end, and use the smaller ratios. So my 30-tooth scape will have a pinion of 6, which will require a wheel of 24 (1:4), then a pinion of 6 again matched to a wheel of 30 (1:5), then another 6-tooth pinion matched to a 36-tooth wheel (1:6), and then finally a last 6-tooth pinion matched to a 36-tooth wheel (1:6) - 4 X 5 X 6 X 6. You have (24 X 30 X 36 X 36/6 X 6 X 6 X 6) {outer teeth wheel totals divided by pinion teeth totals}, which gives you 720. If you want to double check, get the seconds in 12 hours, and then reduce by the ratios to the period you started with.
12 X 60 X 60 = 43,200. Divide by 36 (hour wheel teeth, then multiply by 6 pinion teeth, etc.), so it will look like this:
43,200 / 36 * 6 / 36 * 6 / 30 * 6 / 24 *6 / 30 (
@@thomashughes4859 , you are perfect.
@ My friend, "I stand on the shoulders of giants" - Sir Isaac Newton. Most of what I learnt was from Goodrich and Beckett and the 100's of videos like yours - thank you!!!! You are the perfect one!
@ By the way, I just created an Excel Spreadsheet that will "draw" the epicycloidal gear teeth from which you may make a template to cut your next set of teeth. If using "cut" or "radial" pinions, use half the diameter of the pinion for your generating circle; and if you're using "lanterns", use the whole diameter of the lantern. I will be making an "Eight Cubed" Medieval Clock with "classic" lantern pinions OUT OF PAPER!!!
The eight cubed is because I'll be using a 4 sec period with a 21-tooth wheel (verge escapement) using three 8:1 compound gear sets and a 12 hour dial. Wish my luck!
Great build! Congratulations! Enjoyed vid, design and craftsmanship. Keep on rolling! Greetings from Serbia.
That is amazing and amazingly beautiful.
Muy interesante diseño..
Gracias por sus valiosos comentarios.
görünüşüne bayıldım çok güzel
wow, beautiful
what do those lines you drew on the biggest gear at 1:53 mean?
Çok güzel yapmışsınız hocam
Nice job😃👍👍
thanks

Bahşiş için teşekkürler dostum.
Excelente!!!
você o vende ?
Yeah . i sell , Eu vendo. deve ser um bom preço
Does the pendulum move indefinitely or do you prompt it every now and then? thanks

nice
çok iyisin ....
Do you have plans you would sell?
wow, nice work!
how many teeth on the escape?
also, how many teeth on your pinions??
i noticed you're using a seconds pendulum, so that's 3600 bph.
very curious about your going train calculations and how long it runs.
thumbs up.

yes 30 teeth plan but then it was 60 teeth. 2 second pendulum
Hesap formülü linkte tr.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarka%C3%A7
@ çok teşekkür ediyorum hocam
Congratulations, it's amazing. How long does it run before needing a rewind?
3-4 days.
Variable depending on floor distance
Bravo hocammm müthişş
hocam bundan satın alamiyor muyuz?
tek örneği bende. Başka bir tane daha üretilmedi.
bu tip mekanizmalarda hangi tür ahşap kullanıyorsunuz ?
