- Turn your speakers up for this piece of history - the pushback and start up of N779NC operating Delta 9944 to Charlotte on 23 January 2014, the retirement flight for the aircraft. This would be Delta's final DC-9 flight ever (for real this time).
Coming up now on 10 years from their retirement. I still miss them.
This aircraft was displayed at the Carolinas Aviation Museum but in 2017 for SOME reason, they scrapped the aircraft.
They scrapped it because it was not being kept up to the standards Delta wanted. Sad and unfortunate but true.
No thump? That’s one of the coolest parts.
Great video really great! Push-back & start videos are so awesome, where did the flight originate from? delta last dc-9 flight why? are dc-9s being retired or something
oh what a shame they didn't do a 'power-back" for the last time! That would have been even more awesome! Thanks for the upload. Sad to see the end of another aviation era..
love the good old DC -9 jd 85 engines
at least they husted the safety announcements during engine startup so you could enjoy listening to the engines starting up
I hate when the safety announcement is done during engine startups. Kills the mood.
