Yes we all know the OG Xbox is MVG's favourite retro console. The bias is strong. But that is ok as he does not shove it down our throats like other youtubers bias.
Get over it kid.

There is nothing to get over.
He explain his reason because I think he cut his teeth programming and making home-brews for the OG Xbox.
In fact the OG Xbox was pivotal for the creation of home-brew gaming on consoles as well was the home for XBMC, now known as KODI.
OG Xbox was an incredible console for the modding community.
This channel is my go-to for the technical side of game news.
Would be interested in seeing if any of these games have unreleased LAN modes. Battlefield 2 Modern Combat was Xbox live only online…maybe some lan for testing purposes in this unreleased version
I had purposefully forgotten all about red star after reading the comics since the game was cancelled. I hope that this build is further along than the others! Thank you for sharing this trove with us!
I've been waiting for the English version of dinosaur hunting for YEARS ... there was this guy on a forum that I can't remember, who managed to find it on eBay but wasn't willing to share it on the internet ... and now here he is. .. shootout to hidden palace !!!
I'm glad you get to explore some new terrain. I hope to learn more about the mystery of The Vatz.
How much of that he-man game is playable? Like can you beat it? I'd love to try a brand "new" xbox game even if it means some bugs!
that cool nice to see people still trying to save what they can
Whenever I hear about new releases or games being found for the Dreamcast I can't help but smile. That console was amazing and deserved better.
There's a reason I have Project Deluge marked as one of my bookmarks. Hidden Palace are the preservation kings.
I'm glad these types of software were released. Now it won't be lost to time 👍
There's YT clips of the Dinosaur Hunting English translation, but I never thought it would be shared. Thought it was just going to remain lost to everyone that didn't have deep pockets, forever.
I would enjoy a live-stream about trying out a few games.
My dream of JSRF source code being released is still a dream
But at least these releases are pretty damn awesome
What console do you want to see it ported to? I played the DC JGR a bit and it always makes me happy when the DC get some love with new games or ports.
I also wish this would happen. If we have a debuggable version it could be reverse engineered
I took a shot everytime i heard "I turned on my devkit", got 3 quarters through and fell off my chair.
It's always a good day when there's a release from MVG. Most times it's a video, sometimes it's Quake :).
That's so many source materials to investigate into! Many followers will be keen to know why some of these game never got release.
RUclips has latched onto "Xbox Prototype" in the title and has concluded that this video belongs in the Gaming category dedicated to Activision's _[PROTOTYPE],_ which released on the 360 in 2009.
I find that very funny.
I can't tell you how many quarters of my lunch money were spent playing San Francisco Rush 2049 at my local arcade in the 90's lol.
Holy shit, Wrastlin is going to go nuts for the CDi games.
Not sure who that is but if they didn't go nuts back when the CDi stuff leaked why would they now. Video makes it clear the CDi stuff was a previous dump
@@Dingleberries LOL this guy doesn't know how to use the 3 shells! 😆
The Red Star was released for PS2, but they cut intro cinematic due to license issues. I wonder if this build have it. Truly great game, one of the best beat em up from Western devs
I got my Xbox RAM upgraded a few months ago and now I have a good use for it! Since I feel a lot of these prototypes will take advantage of the extra RAM, it'll be great fun!
Before anyone asks, No, there's no Conker 2 prototype in existence. The game never left the planning stages in development.
What I want to know is, are the Xbox prototypes of Perfect Dark Zero and Kameo: Elements of Power included or no?
Prototype preservation! This is too cool.
I can't believe the title didn't mention the Dreamcast but the surprise was amazing :)
I'm so proud of this community.
These prototypes and unreleased games always make me think about Duke Nukem Forever, that early 2000´s build that 3D Realms actually have and want to release but Gearbox isn't responding. That early trailer of Duke Nukem Forever is such a iconic trailer for it's time and I would love to see what more there is.
Your videos never disappoint, always something awesome every episode. Thanks for all the great content man.
Some people found luigi in a dreamcast prototype of SEGA GT
9:12 IGN posted a video back in 2011 with gameplay footage of the english version of Dinosaur Hunting
I've been into the Hidden Palace since just before drx released the huge dumps of Sonic prototypes and Saturn/Dreamcast prototypes. There's lots of great stuff over there and drx deserves lots of thanks.
Nice! Can't wait to go trough the DC games next WE! Xemu is gettin' better & better btw Lastest stable release shows 62% as playable.
I am quite surprised that this preservation infrastructure can be performed without any legal/copyright issues. There was never some claims from some big companies which only care for their benefits and not their licences preservation?
There's only one reason I'm following the Xbox emulation scene: I need to play Tony Hawk 2X.
I know 1+2 is out, but I don't wanna get it on Epic, and overall, 2X is much closer to the originals in style, and I wanna experience it.
That Advent Rising Prototype interests me considering that the trilogy was canceled.
Same here. I played this on OG Xbox and it is very good game with a great story with cool gameplay. I wish the PC version was better as the controls are messed up. I was disappointed to hear they sequels were canceled considering it was underrated in my opinion. The later levels blew my mind back in the day.
@@robertlawrence9000 The pc version has missing cutscenes. There are mods that readd them. Its one of my favorite games and the pc version just makes me want more.
@@JasperPerri oh I never tried modding the PC version. I do own a copy of the Xbox version. Maybe I'll check out the PC mods for it then
I think Advent rising I'd my favorite OG Xbox game.
@@Mystical_Zeus Yeah it's up there for me too. Too bad people didn't give it a chance. It has a great story. If there was a remake today for new gen hardware I would buy it in a heartbeat
Crazy Taxi 3: "Here's a build three months from release - it's full of bugs, textures don't load" - ohhh it's crunch crunch crunch right up until release to manufacturer. Some games really do only come together at the last moment as a recognizable product. As much as I want to work in games ... I don't want to work in games.
I was there when video gaming first started and that is were it all began and what we have today all leads back to the beginning and to have and make it accessible to all and these classic games are still so awesome today and should never be forgotten as I play them all the time...and good to see people are taking steps to preserve this heritage of were gaming began and we can still enjoy today and for years to come.. Game on MVG and everyone else. 😊
And now to these unreleased games is just awesome and one more reason to have it available and preserve these gems. 👍
I think its time to go and experience some old games that werent released. I love emulation. I will always support it.
This is amazing. I never knew about this. It's like a treasure trove
the hidden palace is awesome, thats where i got Sly Cooper prototypes
This is a great contribution to video game preservation. Thanks for sharing.
Mvg is love ❤️
I agree 100% Xbox Emulation has definitely improved! I use Xemu for all my Xbox Emulation needs and it is amazing. I been playing Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Ninja Gaiden Black, Burnout 3 - Takedown, and I actually just beat Genma Onimusha on it! Amazing!
Vary cool, always amazes me when games look 99% done and dont come out.
By today's standards those 99% done games are essentially complete.
@@AdmiralBison XD by today standards 80% is for sale then 10% more for patches.
Good joke,
It’s because half a budget gets spent on marketing. If they think the game will flop then they can cut their losses early by not marketing at all, which means no point in producing and distributing it
@@alessandrorossi1294 Im not sure that is true for older and smaller games. Back in the day a lot of games had vary little marketing.
But you may be correct, there is a lot of risk back in the day of pressing discs.
Im relay not sure when Holywood style PR pushes relay started, something like the cyberpunk PR push never happened back then for smaller games.
First party games had some push (like halo).
Just an FYI, taking "a screenshot" of a real world object, is called taking a foto... :P

Can't wait for the day when they release the early build of Halo when the game was a 3rd person shooter. (PC Game)
The OG Halo in the RTS version for the Mac would also be super nice
This is dope !
i hope to see more of those unreleased games
this is one hell of a feast.
never seen so much meat in my life.
Whoa! Advent Rising!? Is that a remake?! I love that game! @Modern Vintage Gamer thanks for showing us these games! Any chance you can make a series of videos showcasing many of these unreleased titles and what they have to offer? Thanks! I love your content!
Huge OG Xbox fan, waiting for the day we have dolphin-level emulation.
Me when I read the title :
"Holy shit!"
Me when I watch the video :
"Holy damn shit!!"
Love the content, MVG. Keep it up!
wow this is amazing i had no idea what this hidden palace thing was im def checking this out tonight
Excellent news, thanks for the heads up my Friend
"screenshots of the discs themselves"

OMG! I swear I played this game (area 51)on a PSU demo disc for my ps2! Loved the way it felt, always wondered if a full game version came out!
Yeah, for both PS2 and Xbox and also PC. The demo had slightly better graphics for the soldier armor, was downgraded for some reason upon release.
6th generation was really the best in many aspects including the amount of rumored or unreleased games
The whole collection (PS3/XBox360 and before) is around 25TB. It's not going to be a problem to back them up.
I'm going to guess, but Dinosaur Hunting was probably cancelled because Monster Hunter was released around that time. Similar name, similar concept etc
I remember playing a demo for Red Star in gamestop and then just never hearing about it again, no internet in those days.
You mention your dev kit but I’m curious if these will run on an original modded Xbox as well…
Kinda shocked they didn't scan the media properly instead of taking low light photos
