Not only an admirable novelist, also a very gifted speaker. Incredible how lucid and beautiful Mantel expresses her thoughts. Should you type it up, this interview would produce beautiful prose.

Her voice, her use of language. Brilliant

I have yet to read any of her books, but am acutely aware of her as an authentic voice of expression. She seems so reasoned, proper old school intellect and manners.

I love her eloquence and expression in describing the art and skill of storytelling. She has a wonderful, almost poetic way of describing things. In this way, she rescues a dire, lazy interview with leading, generic questions and elevates it into something transient and ultimately, fascinating.

A brilliant writer and so insightful about the process of writing.

The interviewer is rather antagonistic and the questions are leading. So congratulations to Hilary for avoiding the traps and continuing to inform the audience. Mantel is another Thomas Cromwell. Someone of such exceptional ability that she helps us to restructure ourselves in better ways. Not by brute force but by clarity of exposition and depth of knowledge. That is the trick of Cromwell. To create mental structures that are positive and self-reinforcing.

Classic Guru-Murphy. His interviews with random celebrities have been quite controversial. Tarantino, Robert Downey jr and Richard Ayoade have all had problems with him. Still, he does make engaging interviews to watch.

She would make an amazing forensic psychologist- how she describes her abilities- it’s how any investigation of human events should proceed

I love her eloquence and the use of the English language. However, the interviewer has and staccato tone a bit intense and very nervous every time he speaks.

She's posh for Derbyshire, I'm from there and most people don't sound like this!
