It's pretty easy if you were playing smart and making sure certain weapons are maxed before it begins... namely the Rocket Launcher, Assault Rifle, Heavy MG and Shotgun. All 4 trivialize this guy, as the Rocket Launcher breaks him into second within the first few seconds and if you run out during second phase you have 3 weapons all suited to damage at variable ranges... which is helpful when this guy starts screaming around the arena so fast that controlling your range to him is damn near essential. Of course I'm one of the madmen that did this fight with non-ranked weapons and almost exclusively used weapons awful for them on the hardest difficulty. Those being Disc Launcher, Orb Cannon Thing and Laser Crossbow... It's been a long time so names escape me. That fight is hell without being on the hardest difficulty with that loadout... Discs almost never hit, Crossbow has little ammo and does almost 0 damage when fighting in a duel setting, and the Orb Cannon does a lot of damage... if it ever hits them, and also has low ammo. It came down to going melee with the buzzsaw... which is also a death sentence on the hardest mode since he can literally erase you at close range. But I did it... took hundreds of tries, but I did it.
Do you know how cool it would be if P+ made a Vanquish 2?! Honestly since Vanquish was only able to hit the 900k mark in sales in don't really see the possibility of a sequel. But it would still be cool of they did make a Vanquish 2!
That's the unfortunate part... "The First Time"... as I tend to agree, it's epic as hell if you do it off a single run... but Vanquish has almost 0 motivation to replay it, as it has almost nothing of value to change it up for consecutive runs outside of difficulty... especially if you've mastered all the little tricks you can do. They could have done so much more with the game, and platinum is known to do silly little additions just for the fun of it... look at MGS Rising. Sam could have access to the Zero Limit State as a Bonus throughout the Main Game, Pull out a Guitar when he Slides on his Knees, Weapon Properties could be altered, you could select a weapon' rank instead of having to play start to end every time you want to, and many more that are doubtless in people's minds and well within the realm of possibility. That's ultimately the problem with Vanquish. It's outstanding on the first playthrough, and amazing once you learn all the tricks, but absolutely awful for recurrent playthroughs once you have done both... and gives 0 reason to replay it outside of achievement hunting. It also came out at a very bad time and got almost no attention, and so the odds of a sequel ever fixing these issues is literally 0... as the remake has the exact same problems and 3 new weapons is fun for all of 5 minutes with each. It is too repetitive.
1:00 to 1:24 If you can force Bogey into the second phase fast enough that this verse plays as the Limiters are removed on Sam's Suit... it is the only part of the song that suits the "Ascended State" period, which is ironic... because the section directly following 1:24 almost always begins playing when they have the 3-way melee clash, which is the part of the song which directly follows that verse in the song.
i'm pretty sure that mikami was not "AT" platinum" BUT he was an independent contractor for p* for the duration of vanquish (i also think he was working with grasshopper on shadows of the damned at the same time) - he was never a full on employee... it's not uncommon in japan to contract talent... so it's possible he may be re-contracted ;-)
This is such a great boss battle music. Do you think you could send me the mp3 file, I can't seem to find it anywhere on the net that isn't torrents and stuff.
Dont even compare these two... not to rag on Vanquish but considering when Z.O.E came out compared to it... no matter how fun Vanquish was at the time, if a Z.O.E game released at the same time... based on the quality of the original for when it released, it would completely eclipse Vanquish. I'm not saying Vanquish is a bad game, simply that Z.O.E - while flawed - is higher quality for how much older a game it is, so if a new one were to release at that time with improvements... nothing would really compete with it if handled properly.
Because one was forced to retreat when Sam overpowered it, as the first time Sam fights Bogey it is somewhat incomplete... hence why it's output is so low, that is precisely one of the reasons they were fighting to keep their target... Sam and the Professor created the ARS together.
Fun Fact... He was meant to, as there was code in the original Vanquish which mentioned Sam having something of a "Blade Mode" he could access as something of an empowered state. It was ultimately scrapped, but I did remember seeing a few modders access that code and edit it into the game as an actual feature... while buggy as hell, Sam would deploy a large wrist mounted blade with either energy or flame erupting from it... he would also gain a heightened ARS meter but take increased damage for the duration.

Explod pausemovetime This game is pretty much the reason why I HAVEN'T bothered playing many third person shooters since.
TronPowerNode Platinum Games FTW

none of them even compare when you have all this mobility and range of dazzling moves you can pull off
"Oh, release safety limiters? This should be cool."
*boosts*
"HOLY SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII-"
Beat this game on all difficulties + challenges... such epic memories. Wish there was a sequel...
LareCat why need one
@@mochalta2862 beacuse it would be epic
Finally got around to completing it all too back in 2016. Hoping there will eventually be something else to do with Vanquish.
"Disable the safety limiters on the suit."
Fuck... She could have done that when I was fighting both of them.
In her defense, the suit did blow up.
??
When?
@@vincentmuyo well...it ALMOST did.
shinji mikami + platinum + sega = BEAST.
"Doktor, Turn off my-" Oh wait, wrong game.
"If you're gonna make this my fight......then I'm going to end it!"
Was off the fucking chain fighting this boss on Hard mode, i can't wait to have a go at it in God mode
“If your gonna make this my fight. Then I’m gonna end it!”
This boss was a pain but it was super satisfying

Vanquish best game ever the final boss was hard and fun I sure wish they make a sequel or appear in other Sega games.
I love this OST and this game
this last battle was so fucking epic the first time

Does even the game like that need some more variety, when the main parts of fun is already there?

super mega underrated 10/10 game
Same developers that do great action games. Bayonetta is my personal favorite though
I wish i knew i was playing Zone of the Enders when I fought this boss... -_-

1:35 and 3:11
It's like I'm really fighting the Dummy Anubis
Im sure there will be one.
THIS GAME NEEDS A SEQUEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Imagine if it was multiplayer.
Colonel Nohman?
I kept telling myself "Think Devil May Cry..." for all the dodging I had to do. Why did there have to be TWO?!

this game had music?
The best way to play this game is to set all volume settings besides music down to 5 and increase the overall volume.
@DjokaeFF67 *cough mega replay value cough*
Trust me, you dont want to know...
Vanquish 2 teaser is up
Boss is so easy on normal lol
Mikami left Platinum. The future of Vanquish is pretty bleak
They can always hire Jamie Christopherson.
