I live in DC...I’ve never seen a real raccoon until one night they starting ripping my roof apart...guy charged me a grand to fix that breach....I got robbed I believe...I’m glad you helped your husband...good work y’all...
I have them in my attic now. There are 6 downspouts that they change up using, I've blocked them ,now they use the fence to reach the gutter. I cannot find thier access point. So by stopping them from getting on the roof that will give me time to find out where they gain access. Tomorrow I'm going to heat up hot chili peppers inside my attic to force the kits and mom out for good . Then the task of clean-up insulation removal, duct repair, feces and urine treatment and pest control to get rid of any bugs as a result of the feces. Then blow in new insulation and patch all access points. Sound costly, I hope my insurance covers this crap. These raccoons only make noise while moving, I hear no clawing or animal sounds at all. Security light at all corners of your home is a must. They have been getting in for some time now and not one neighbor has said they see them ,they are in and out in the daytime on my roof and sound exactly like a human, fricken creepy.
So they r active during the day? I thought they were nocturnal so only go out at night to forage for food. Wow. Have you finally been able to get rid of them?
@@beverlycharles6534 yes I did it by scaring the hell out of them I took a 4 ft long box it was the box that the animal trap came in I got so angry I started slamming the Box on the ceiling all over the entire ceiling of my home I literally could hear them moving about right where I was standing and it was a big one it had to be the mother so what I had done was I took a strip of wood and I put several screws to in Long facing upward about 20 screws and it was a 4-foot piece of material that I put the 20 screws in and then then I screwed that piece of wood onto the top of my fence where they were accessing my gutter I did that in two locations on my home once I scared them out of my attic they can only get off the roof bye using like the roof of my car they jumped from the roof to my roof of my car and got off and they could never get back in it took me a year to figure this out they are gone they never came back I never did find the entry point where they are actually getting inside my attic but they can't get up there anymore because I screw them like that funny joke there

Hang Evictor Strobe Lights in your attic. It may take a week or two, but raccoons will leave, taking babies with them. Remember to screw the Evictor Strobe Light chain to a rafter. Otherwise, Raccoons tend to pick the chain off the hook and relocate the Evictor to another part of the attic. Make sure the attic is totally dark.
Never heard of this b4. Will research it. Raccoons pulled back my siding and now have put a hole in the roof. I never hear or see them tho. I have been standing watch between 4a and 6a each morning to see how where they r climbing up. I have not seen or heard these buggers. I put brite motion detectors outside and would like to have something inside to make my attic UNcomfortable. The idea of them picking up the strobe light and moving it away is just WEIRD. They r really smart I guess.
I'm glad I checked RUclips. Now I know what that horrible noise is. Something huge falls down into the house between the walls and through the crawl space overhead. Mothballs, juicy fruit gum and if that doesn't work I'm calling Ghostbusters !!!
You are truly a good lady helping you husband repair the roof holes. It was hilarious however seeing you try to get the courage to descend the ladder. I know it was terrifying BUT it was truly funny watching it.
Funny!😂 word of advice on the raccoons. Never fix the entrance until you know the coons are removed. And a staple gun won’t hold a coon out. They are strong and will tear those out. The spot they are getting in is notorious for coons. Best thing to do is get them trapped and removed them build a box covered in sheet metal up in that crevice so they can’t get up in that small area and get a lot of leverage to tear into the attic. Second don’t go in an attic you know has had coons in it without a good full face respirator. Their poop Carrie’s a few diseases that can make you very sick and even kill you. No joke! And coons chew things like wires so be careful in the attic that you don’t accidentally touch an exposed live wire they have chewed and get yourself electrocuted! Best way to trap them is a live trap up by the entrance with wire mesh around the entrance leading to the trap so they have no choice but walk into the trap. It’s called a positive set. Gives them no choice. Most coins in attics in the late winter and spring are momma coins having babies. So there’s likely babies up there. Not a bad idea to set two traps so you get them all. If you only get momma coon and babies are too young to come out on their own you can get some good heavy leather gloves and get up in attic and get the babies out by hand. Once you know they are all out then repair the entrance. If you repair it first and the coins die up there it’s gonna stink to high heaven.

You have a very steep roof. Your are a brave woman; most people would have been too scared. I worked construction for years and I wouldn't go on a roof like yours without a safety rope. The safest way to get on the ladder, is to put your foot around the side, while holding the top.

Shelbii Burch I have had squirrels since Thanksgiving day!! He actually came into my house,ran under the couch..day after another one!...after that just sounds. Since then I've had 3 different removal services....no luck! I think they're gone and they come back....it's almost MAY!..ughs

They are pissing and pooping directly above my closet and I’m scared they will compromise the ceiling and eventually come crashing through! I’m thankful their didn’t seem to be any wires being compromised in that area! I WANT THESE CRITTERS GONE!!!

I own ad pest and wildlife control company. If home remedies worked I would be out of the job. You need a professional to re move the animals and then we contact you Insurance company to get it cleaned up Insurance company to remove all of the attic insulation and get rid of the smell or you will have it year after year after year.
JOY TERRY we stapled pantyhose filled with moth balls around the area they were getting in. We also nailed 2 by 4s to close off the places.. and we set traps
