    How did they deliver this? They have to fork lift it off a truck? Thinking of getting one but access is a bugger

    • @bikerantics5001
      @bikerantics5001  Год назад

      Hi, all they do is kerbside delivery, you have to figure it out from there, unless they’ve changed their policies recently 🤷‍♂️
      Mine was delivered on to my driveway, while I was at work, signed for by my misses. To get it to my shed I had to take it down my neighbour’s driveway and then turn right along a narrow path at the back of my house, then another 45° right turn up a 12” high 18” long ramp on to my decking. Then over a 1.5” step into my shed. I used two skateboards under one of the long edges of the crate it comes in. Obviously on its side it was a lot thinner to manoeuvre down my narrow pathway and in to my shed, my misses was on hand to help steady it. With hind sight It would definitely have been better to have a mate help me out🤷‍♂️. Hope this helps with your decision 👍
      If access is truly a nightmare then maybe look into an Abba skylift, it’s a bit more fiddly to get your bike on but it’s a lot more versatile and manoeuvrable than a lift🤷‍♂️ and gives really good access to all of your bike👌

      I say access is a nightmare, but access is only a nightmare if the driver hasn't got enough confidence to get a 7.5t truck down the lane. Its doable, just unloading it from the truck was my concern. I can probably get it delivered elsewhere and load it in the van piece by piece if nothing else I guess. Cheers dude!

    Didn’t fancy an Abba Sky lift then? But that is a really nice piece of kit you’ve got there. A couple of safety straps and you’ll be ready to go.
    Should make videoing much easier for you as well especially when you want to show us those low down back breaking areas on the bike - looking forward to it👍

      Did i not mention ‘I’ve got an Abba Skylift’, to be honest I’m storing my mates Abba Skylift for him so I’ve actually got two Abba Skylifts in the shed at the moment. Trouble is the GS1000 won’t fit on them. . . and I’ve got more floor space now so a motorbike lift table was what i ‘needed’ (can’t believe the Misses fell for that line!) and I’ve got safety straps, nice Orange ones 👍
      I’m definitely looking forward to no more crawling around on the floor! First test will be this weekend doing an oil and filter change on the Gixxus 🤞

    Ive been after something like this, but the carriers insist i have to have a fork lift truck to unload it with (!) In a residential property ??

      It’ll definitely take a couple of strong fellas to man-handle it, because of the size of the crate and the weight, but it’s definitely do able. It certainly helped screwing skateboards to it to get it down my back passage 🥴

    Whoever thought it was a good idea to sell bikes without a centre stand wants battered 😂. I dare say you could extend your shed/workshop with all that leftover packaging 👍
    Seriously though... Nice piece of kit 🤑

      I’m pretty sure the Gixxus hasn’t even got centre stand fixings 🤯
      . . . i did ask the misses about another shed extension. . . she wasn’t very lady like with the answer 🤷‍♂️

      Luckily I got in just before Covid was an excuse to put all the prices up!
      This is my latest video on my lift, that someone asked about, don’t know if it’ll be of interest. It just shows how i use it now as opposed to when i first bought it:-

    Is this stand ment only fr small bikes, how to support the rear wheel fr heavier bikes ??????

      @bikerantics5001  2 месяца назад

      Hi, i think this lift is rated for 450kgs and easily lifts my Hayabusa at 270kgs, as shown in this video:-
      ruclips.net/video/3W797WLVszY/видео.htmlsi=aGvGIIgIKwIsKOYu
      I use a paddock stand to support the back wheel. Hope this helps 🫡
      And you definitely used to many question marks😂🤣

    Hi, thinking of getting one of these. How big is that crate when it arrives? I have a Machine mart local to me and said i can collect if i have a suitable vehicle. Would it go in a big estate car?

    • @bikerantics5001
      @bikerantics5001  3 года назад

      It’s about 7’6” long by 2’8” wide by 12” high and 175kg. The problem would be lifting the end up to pull it into the car because of the weight, you really need a pick-up or a drop-side vehicle. The only way it might work is by unboxing it (that’ll save a few kg’s!) and sliding it in on its bed or lay the top of the crate in the car and slide it up that. It’s still fairly heavy to haul around though. Good luck 🤞
