It was actually very rare for a spring lock failure to happen.
And probably the worst part is, the spring Bonnie suit is programmed to wander towards the sounds of children. That means in FNAF 3, William was forced to walk towards the noises against his own will. Imagine how painful that would be..
i feel like william through out the game slowly gains more control over the suit. theres moments where you use the audio lure and springtrap doesnt move
Considering he has been in there for a few decades, it's probable that his nerves decayed. So I highly doubt he'd feel much.
The suit that Mike just died in walks out into the restaurant*
@@thechickennuggetlordv2654oh god no-
@@A_Rookiehis brains would've died he just repossessed the suit

If I'm correct, originally Phone Guy in FNAF 2 actually did mention more people dying due to springlock failures. This was what led people to believe that Shadow Bonnie and Shadow Freddy were the spirits of the employees who died in the suits.
However, it was revealed/implied in one of the novels that Shadow Bonnie is made up entirely of what is called "Dark Remnant". "Dark Remnant" is essentially a varient of regular "Remnant" (leftovers of human souls, basically) that is infused with agony, pain, and all things bad.
This would imply that the dead employees suffered so much in their deaths that it was enough to spiritually manifest a shadow version of the animatronics they died in, and it haunted the halls of that establishment until it closed.
nice theory. could also explain the "purple" essence from william since he died so painfully aswell
Springlocks weren't a thing in FNAF 2...
very interesting theory. even if we take out the dark remnant thing, this theory is still very solid
@@samiamtheman7379Yes they were, FNAF 2 happens after FNAF 4 and Sister Location, so those suits were already made. :/
@@jamirgordon9745 It happens after Sister Location and 4?
Regardless, FNAF 2 was the second FNAF game that Scott made. Spring-locks weren't ever mentioned until he made FNAF 3. They were never mentioned in 2 because Scott didn't think of them yet.
The good news is that the Springlock suits did have a pretty good history of being stable, the training tapes likely hyped up how dangerous they were to encourage employees to be cautious with them. There's only 2 confirmed springlock failures in the lore. The one that shut down a Sister Location (Springlock costumes were immediately banned after that), and the famous Springtrap scene in fnaf 3 (the suit was 30 years old at that point).
Still a death trap tho
Yeah, for what I heard they are really reliable if maintained correctly, with the chances of actually suffering a springlock failure by a suit on good conditions being basicly impossible, but this is Fazbear Enterteinment, so is very likely their maintanance wasn't done very well seeing their whole story on being the most incompetent private company in fiction
just like spring locks in real life, they rarely fail, specially not because of moisture
@@tawagotoCage I think what moisture does is actually just make whatever is retaining the springlocks rust, thus making them more likely to malfunction. It could also make more likely to suffer an springlock failure as the mechanism being wet would make it more likely to "slip" back into animatronic mode.
@@pablosoleramaeso4561 the thing is that with how real springlocks works, if it rusty it will probably be stuck shut rather then snapping loose
@@pablosoleramaeso4561 if you have one of those pens that can click in and out, theres a springlock in the button, you can take it apart to see how it works
Bro the fact springlocks are set off by moisture is dumb as hell, and the employee in them knows this, BUT THEY ARE DANCING AND RUNNING AROUND A CHILDRENS BIRTHDAY PARTY WITH LOUD NOISES, SCREAMING, MUSIC, FLASHING LIGHTS, AND PEOPLE, AND THEY ARE ALREADY NERVOUS ABOUT DYING IN THE SUIT, SO THAT, COMBINED WITH THE TIREDNESS OF BEING IN THE SUIT, WOULD MAKE YOU SWEAT, AND THAT SWEAT KILLS YOU.

Yep
In the silver eyes book it is said that a regularly cleaned and over all well taken care of spring lock suit is actually quite safe to wear with only a small chance of the spring locks failing. So they really aren't that sensetive, but same can't be said about moisture. I mean, you all know what william does using his spring bonnie suit not only in the books but also in the games. I can imagine the kids kicking and fighting back when william killed them, and that didn't trip the spring locks, same goes for the things he does in the silver eyes book like when he kidnapped charlton.

The very idea that the human body can initially survive this, at least for a little while, is terrifying. Our bodies are very fragile but very enduring to be able to stay alive despite such traumatic damage. Either way, amazing video and absolutely sp00ky!
True. It's not the pain, or the bleeding, or being completely crushed that kills you.
It's slowly drowning in your own blood as it fills your lungs.
@@wingedbluj1674Your lung will also be shredded apart

The fact that you would still have a chance of still being alive after the springlocks are done going off, even for a few seconds, actually haunts me to my stomach. Not being able to see, hear, or speak and having every single bone crushed in the span of 10 seconds is actually number 1 on the worst death list
It's nice how you put the fact that the suit just stood in a natural pose waving hello, I liked to think that sometimes the suit would start performing, causing even more pain with all the rapid and nonhuman movements

I used to avoid FNAF a lot, but watching this has taken my interest into the lore in particular, nice work Mr. Illustrated!
Thank you :) glad you liked it. There are lots of excellent lore videos worth watching that can help
@MR_ILLUSTRATED this actually kept my patience a bit higher, they practically ruined the story
Be careful of the lore, it is so wild and it is a lot of theory work too
FuhNAFF, ID's Fantasy and Game Theory are good. Just remember that the lore is burdened with red herrings and Easter eggs that make it difficult to identify and sort the real lore clues, so there's gonna be some disagreement in the FNAF theorists community.
wait until after the new dlc is out, then start learning tge lore, we still need this dlc to confirm or disprove some things
This is honestly a great depiction of a Springlock failure. While the endoskeleton impalement is very accurate, there was one detail that was left out. Before the endoskeleton moves back in place the locks themselves sever the throat, vocal cords, and skin. Then as the endo snaps in place Mike would be literally drowning in his own blood. Other than that it's 100% accurate. But not going to lie, the x-ray pieces in these vids make me shudder. But that just makes it more appealing.
I think the reason why the blood drowning thing isn't in here is probably because it's from the comics and the comic's being canon is an ongoing debate among the fnaf community, so either he wasn't aware of the comics or he just left it out because he thought it wouldn't be canon to the lore of fnaf. I feel like the former is more likely than the latter but who knows

0:18 MIKE.. you say..?
The worst idea is the pressure of these springlocks. The skull can be crushed only after under pressure of 500 kg. William probably did that shit on purpose.
Damn Springtrap looks so damn menacing when you draw him!
Forgot to mention, I saw a video talking how the locks weren’t that dangerous when they’re maintained, like in a graphic novel Willy sets off a lock and only one fails. So I wonder if the suits could just cut the employees most of the time. But being decades old the springtrap suit was a death trap.
This could be true, but it’s also possible that when one fails and stabs you, your body panics, leading to you falling onto the ground or against a wall, causing more springs to fail. Then there’s also the moisture of blood from a single cut going into other springs sparking a chain reaction
I can't imagine someone just walking into a room and then seeing your coworkers dead in a bloody bunny suit then casually text their boss and say "it happen again" then carry on with the rest of your day like it's a normal Tuesday

Much too painful im getting the hell outta here for my own safety and well nah I'm going to stay here and wait for sweet sweet death 😮
There were a few other deaths aside from the 5 children of the first Missing Children's incident [the ones stuffed into Classic/Withered Bonnie, Freddie, Chica , Foxy and Spring Fredbear/Golden Freddy. As mentioned the Bite of 83 was performed by a malfunctioning/not safety tested Springlock Fredbear on "the Crying Child" strongly implied to be Afton's youngest son [named Evan in the books], who is implied [by different behaviors in different games] to co-haunt the now spectral Golden Freddy [withered Springlock Fredbear] with "the One You Should Not Have Killed"/Vengeful Spirit/Cassidy, implied through FNAF6 UCN cut scenes to be one that Afton not only killed, but brutalized and stuffed into the suit that killed his son.
Other Deaths include: arguably the first Afton Murder [unless you believe Withered Chica], Charlie Emily [name from the books and I think FNAF6] the daughter of his Business partner Henry, who it is implied was the first murder and the second death, being killed in retaliation for "Henry's creation" [as Bonnie was William's Fursona and Fredbear Henry's before the springlock suits] killing his son Evan [bite of 83]. He killed Charlie outside the first Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria. The Security Puppet [programmed to home in on her green writsband] went to her in the rain and shut down as she bled out, being possessed by her. The Puppet then went on to give a second life to the original 4, with Golden Freddy already haunted by Evan Afton [who presumably helped Cassidy].
Another death was another Afton, William's daughter Elizabeth, who was killed by Circus Baby by accident [Baby was programmed to kill, to collect remnant for Afton, Elizabeth disobeyed, got too close to Baby in a room with no witnesses, and got Order 66'd. The books imply that Baby was a stolen robot made by Henry to mimic his dead daughter Charlie, and that AI Charlie [possibly the Mimic1 program], tortured by William, and the ghost of Elizabeth share Baby, while Scrap Baby from FNAF6 is fully Elizabeth, since Michael is tricked into removing Charlie's memory core in the Baby service minigame in Sister Location.
To round out the undead Aftons, Mike, the oldest Afton Child [and presumably Foxy Bro, the one that torments Crying Evan and yeets him into Spring Fredbear in FNAF4] is scooped and worn as a reverse springtrap by Ennard in Sister Location, due to the remnant and agony [and potentially some other Afton chicanery] Michael does not die after Ennard leaves his body, instead surviving as a zombie.
Due to FNAF 2 and 3 minigames, it is strongly implied that another 6 kids were killed in New Freddy Fazbear's [the FNAF 2 location] and they are stuffed into the Toys and possibly Balloon Boy/DD/JJ
There's also the Bite of 87, which was done by either Toy Foxy/Mangle or Toy Chica on a security guard, destroying hid frontal lobe, but possibly leaving him alive.

Its one of those things that reminds you FNAF is more than jumpscares and cameras; its a Horror game through and though. @@joshuabarger1215I did search it up. But I didn’t have to, it was actually invented in 1993. That’s when the first sms phone line (Nokia) was invented.
@@OldSport83 Ok
Also fun fact according to the books you dont die of bloodloss
You die from drowning in your own blood
Damn bruh, springlock suits are very dangerous, we should probably not use them-
*insert canon event meme*
I’ve have followed you for props 6/7 years and it’s awesome to see you are still drawing and it’s amazing to see how good you have become at it, one thing is that you cover horror but what I love the most about your channel is that you actually give a damn about your art and it’s so cool to see how it’s evolved from your SCP series to now, to be honest I haven’t visited your channel since the Day breaks series from when it started. I love how in a world of AI generated art you still hold your own integrity and self respect within your art, you rule mister 💪
This is the greatest definition of springlock failure EVER
The fact that he couldn't scream is perfect and also another detail is that he couldn't fall on the floor and just jerk around in the suit is great.
The reason being is that the suit and the endo being held back all together is already heavy enough.
For example Fredbears springlock failure, the person inside is unable to fall down as the parts force back into
place locking together which explains why springbonnies springlock failure went into a default pose as of locking back into place
Fantastic video!!! I've wondered just how bad a springlock failure really is. I'm not sure if I'm glad I know, or rather wish I didn't. Man that is brutal. William got what he deserved. I am rather glad that the kids were already dead before ending up in the suits. FNAF is a really crazy string of events, games, lore, puzzles, vidoes and I don't even know what else. Once again I'm going to shout out Wendigoon and his STELLAR video covering all of the FNAF timeline and events in as logical a sequence as I think anyone could come up with. It's a long watch, but SO worth it!
the suits that the kids were put in weren't springlock suits, they were just normal animatronic costumes that went over the separate endoskeletons
Not even William deserved that
@@bossmine3997 Dude murdered 6 kids. One as an act of vengence and 5 were to deliberately posses the suits. The hell he didn't deserve this. He deserved even worse.
@@stormqueen29 no, because that's not true justice
@@bossmine3997 Tell it to someone who cares.
The incident involving the Springlock failures at the 'Sister Location' probably involved the suit you get stuck in during Night 4 of the game of the same name
Mike after jumping into a pool with the suit on 💀
are we gonna ignore that he said “get your balls crushed into jelly”
Not only did Mike die twice, but he works in the same establishment.. Truly a terrible fate far worse than death in the FNAF lore...
All jokes aside, this is a really good analysis of the Springlock Failure, kinda sent shivers down my spine. 👍
This implies that Mike is theoretically immortal
there is not only one mike in fnaf lore
@@frugo-3871 Mr. Illustrated uses someone called Mike as an example...
@@TheBloxxedSanarcati i know but i said there is not only one mike in fnaf universe
I absolutely love that X-Ray art you made, almost like you took like an autopsy or medical type of perspective on his death ykwim
I've never felt sick while reading or listening to graphic detailed narrations, but this, this surely made me feel uneasy. Well done, you hit bullseye!
The crime child actually push someone as a joke in a spring lot golden Freddy suit, and it had a failure because he fell over
0:04 WHY?!! WHY DID YOU SAY IT LIKE THAT??!!!!
"Having your balls splattered into jelly"
😭
Last time he described it as “squidgy bits being turned to mush”

Loving your branch off content
Thanks :) I’m really enjoying it
Mike can never catch a break.
You made FNAF way darker than i would have thought.
Honestly the springlock suits were a technologically genius invention if they had been designed better and tested on dummy’s then a lot of FNAF lore would be completely different in fact a lot of the story would likely not have happened or if it did it would be nothing like the original story
The only big difference I can think of is FNAF 3 (and by extension FNAF 6)
6:50 this was narrated and sounded very well and even made me sweat
OH SHIT!
This video provides a detailed description of being in a springlock failure that the original one in the FNAF 3 minigame look like getting a cut
