Despite the fact that these movies are basically big product placement, these movies really did have one of the most creative concepts I've ever seen. And one of most simplest but almost awesome multiverse I've ever seen. I mean if you said to me on street that someone made a show that explains how racing cars can save the multiverse back in 2002 I would have thought you were talking bullshit. And the action being this awesome? Seriously, can you make car driving any more awesome then with these movies?

HERES! BENDY! Oh Yeah! The idea of a high stakes race through the multiverse in custom made cars is just awesome. And the stakes are even higher in acceleracers. Plus I loved how World Race was building up to a race through the actual hot wheels city. Again despite being a blatant product placement.

if they mean I-35 that's a 1500 mile road with just about the same amount of environments as Highway 35; starting from desert in south Texas, the swamp of Houston, and the cold states of the north, ending in a major city. Don't think there's any pyramids on it though haha

I have world race along with a lot of other early 200s racing games on GameCube and I should do that

Back then I thought it was just an average racing game, looking back though, GOD DAMN that was a fucking masterpiece, beautiful tracks, excellent, responsive controls, cars that all felt unique and a kick ass sound track, all without any stupid gimmicks, sure you had the pick up to unlock shortcut routes, but that required skill to get, wasn't a guarantee that you'd be able to get to it, and unlocked it for every for a short time. As silly, fun racing games go, that game was pure skill expression, so winning against your friends felt like a real achievement.
Highway 35 and Acceleracers are prime examples of my childhood. All the other racing toy tie-ins just fail in comparison.
And this Smash Mouth song is the best one ever.

Paid my respects over at All Star but this is a special little corner I thought I'd visit. My brother and I loved these movies and my whole family still jokes about and references them. This song tends to come on every now and then. Rest in peace legend

Recently rewatched Highway 35 and Acceleracers. Highway 35 is still just as good but, the phrase "it's bad but that makes it good" sums up my nostalgia trip nicely. It was great for its time.

I liked the Hot Wheels World Race film way back in the day. The story was good, the visual animation was better than expected. Smooth, cartoony, and had a great scale of vast and impressive visuals. I'm not the biggest fan of Smash Mouth, but I do enjoy this song too.
I still have a DVD copy of this movie, but unfortunately it doesn't play that well anymore.
