    Hey thank you for all your tutorials! They are all really interesting to watch. It helps me a lot to begin with basics in Photoshop. And it's kinda sad to see you are no more release videos :( Thanks anyways!

    • @shub
      @shub  6 лет назад +4

      I appreciate that. Quite the opposite actually. For the last five years I've been getting paid to make videos for a company, so have been releasing it through their channel instead. I made a full time job of this thing I like doing - which hasn't been great for output on my own channel, but certainly great for my life overall.

    Hello Jeremy, u gave me good information. Please help me- I want to experiment something. I want to take a photo with 3 filters- RGB with BW, and i want to combine three of them to get colorful original result. HOW SHOULD I SHOOT BW PHOTO WITH RGB FILTERS?

    • @shub
      @shub  3 года назад +1

      Only way I know how to do it is by taking a full color photo, and then breaking up the channels in post as shown above, but I'm sure there are filters you can put over your lens to make it so you're only seeing the blue / red / green independently - never experimented with that. Betting someone has - keep me posted if you figure it out.

    I have Photoshop 5.1 extended. My channels tab when opened shows the RGB, the Red, the Green, & the Blue... but instead of the red, green, & blue showing different shades of grey for each channel, instead they have a Red transparent Overlay & a Green transparent overlay & a Blue transparent overlay... with the RGB Channel appearing normal. How on earth do I get the shades of grey for each of the 3 color channels? Is there some setting I need to change? Any help is GREATLY APPRECIATED - TY.

    • @hendrix5757
      @hendrix5757 7 лет назад

      lol I know its too late, but all you do is make sure the layer with the full composite picture is active, and then go the channels and click on any of the individual channels to isolate it. Hit Ctrl + A to select all, then Ctrl + C to copy the channel. Now go back to your layers tab and add another blank layer. Hit Ctrl + V to paste the channel onto the blank layer. Do that for each individual channel, but make sure that the layer containing the full color composite image is always selected prior to selecting a channel, otherwise it'll either copy the wrong data, or claim there's nothing to be copied.

    When you press on one of the channels, you're seeing a black and white representation of that channel. My advice, if you're new to Photoshop, is to just not go around clicking on channels. Don't worry about channels until you really understand layers.

    Unfortunately you did not respond to my question, namely how did you move the channel into layers. In response you simply fired back more stuff that you have done. instead of answering my question, namely "how did you get the green channel into layers.
    I am not attacking your competence in using CS6, or you as an individual. My comment was about your delivery of information.

    how to make selection using by chanel with white brush

    • @shub
      @shub  8 лет назад

      Draw on the channel with a white brush, and then Command click on the thumbnail of the icon in the layers palette. Although, I'd suggest if you're doing it for selection, you use a Mask. If you google "How to use channels for Masks" you can see the video I did on this subject.

    Funny how you predicted my confused reaction. XD
    I have a CS5, RGB Colour, 8 bits.
    It worked before like in this tutorial but a couple of years later something happened(I don't know what) and then the channels went all coloured.
    I.E. Red made it all red, Green made it all green, ETC.
    But when I used the copy-paste trick it went grey scaled as if it was suppose to remove a colour.
    Why does this happen? ; v ;

  • @quillgirl18
    @quillgirl18 10 лет назад

    benzlikesthings Go to image and click mode. Then click RGB color. It'll give you a message that tells you that applying the RGB might change the appearance of layers and it'll ask you if you want to flatten them. Click flatten and the colors will appear again.

    I am a beginner. I have much to learn and I am not ashamed that I am ignorant because I acknowledge that fact. I was simply you for some information, namely, the transfer of a channel into layers. You did not address that question. I was asking for clarification of your information and you failed to deliver it. Not only that, you could have responded to my query using a personal address. Others who are way more famous than you have done so when I contacted them. Please, just answer my question.

    I am just a newbie & am trying to step outside the box. I have heard of "channels" and I tried to follow you with a green screen image of my own. But you were too fast for me to see how you grabbed the green screen channel and placed it in the layers panel. I just saw similar comments below. Perhaps if you slowed down in your delivery & used a script you would be more effective. It would also improve your narrative. 58 thumbs up out of 5230 views would suggest that your video is not effective.

    For example, you stated that there are 10 channels. As far as I can tell there are 7 channels, namely r,g,b (additive) and cmyk (subtractive hues). You clearly stated 10. I am not attacking you as a person, but simply pointing out that your delivery was imperfect. Your are working in an extremely competitive market. If you wish to succeed in that market to must present a delivery second to none. Your video is not perfect. You "ad libbed" your presentation and made a number errors in doing so.

  • @JayBaggio

    Thanks for teaching but to be honest the video was very confusing, I didn't learn anything new but actually felt more lost than before. I think it's because there is no systematic method, you just jump from one subject to another without connection, you talk too fast and press many things without explaining your shortcuts or what you are doing step by step, etc. I didn't really learn anything useful. In any case, thanks for sharing knowledge.
