Do not attempt to modify your shredder unless you are aware of and willing to take responsibility for all the ramifications of doing such. Injury and property damage are both very real risks.

i think i agree with that they usally are terrible the quality of some of them are cheap and poor i have a heavy duty one that takes 10 sheets it takes a lot of paper to jam it its not a bad shredder and its only designed for 5 sheets some struggle with just 1 and its just like so annoying when you have to keep reversing it and forwarding it however it depends how expensive it is my advice to get a half decent one that can shred up to 5 sheets get a fellowes paper shredder is my advice because they are unkillable i have one the amount of times ive jammed it and it still works some are good some are terrible
i had a cheap Staples shredder that I took apart and disabled the safety features like you did and that thing could shred pens and thick wires and chicken bones but one of the METAL gears had a tooth that broke off and ruined the entire thing when i put ~100 sheets of paper in it.
The issue with the feed switch happened to two shredders that I've used. I fixed it by gently heating the white switch lever until it moved smoothly and didn't rub on anything. I liked watching you shred non paper items you should do more of that if you still have this shredder. You could remove the part that covers the intake so it's like a mini SSI shredder. And thanks for shredding that Win ME CD Man I hated that OS. It always crashed on me, and then one day it wouldn't start up.
I love to have a shredder continuously running sadly my Arora 6 sheet shredder dose not have that option its nice to have it running constantly and just throw stuff in much faster much more effective
The same thing happened to my shredder the plastic part over the cutters broke. The shredder still works but it has no combs to remove the paper from the teeth. How did you fix yours? And you should try switching it from forward and reverse quickly when shredding the license plate.
