wow cooking with kids takes a lot of patience but its nice that you let them try and learn these practical skills. i’m sure it also makes them appreciate how much effort goes into making the food they get to eat.

No one ever taught me even the most basic cooking skills (grilled cheese in my house was a processed cheese slice melted in the microwave into toasted, stale bread that my mother was trying not to waste). I have truly loved the "real" grilled cheese sandwiches that I have encountered as an adult, but everyone always assumed that I knew how to make one, myself. I am saving this video as a favorite.

Yummy! Try butter on the inside and mayo on the outside of the bread. Learned that from my grandmother-in-law. It sounds weird but DELISH! Super crispy. Try it!!

Benji, have you heard of those French butter crocks? They're great for keeping your butter at room temperature. They stay fresh, you just have to change the water that creates the seal every 2-3 days... we keep ours on the counter and love it!

The only kind of cheese I want in my grilled cheese is American cheese! And you don’t need a lot of butter. I’m also a triangle sandwich girly, even at 36 years old.

Cooking with little kids is hard with short attention spans. They eat the food, put their fingers, noses and mouths on everything. 😂 I'm a diagonal sandwich cutter.

I stopped eating cheese after watching a video of how the mama cows chase after their babies after they are taken to slaughter for dairy cheese/dairy products. It was so sad to watch the mama chasing after the trucks with their babies on it as the truck drives away. They understand what is happening and it is heartbreaking to watch.
