Highly recommend using chicken bullion to season the beans!! Learned this from my Mexican family! Bacon lard is also key so you did great! Also add a garlic glove or two! Talk about flavorful!❤
Hey there Benji I am Mexican and I highly recommend when you boil your beans add one Chile poblano two cloves of garlic and half of onion and and handful of salt!
Add those beans to soups and stews to thicken the sauce and no one will ever notice. I love to add blended white beans to regular canned tomato soup to bulk up my tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwich.
Hi Benji. Mexican here learned how to make her beans from her dad and he learned to make them from his dad. So this is a very traditional way of making them! And people always ask us how we make them and love them. Just something to try if you want to do it the traditional way. Peruvian beans are the best for refried beans. When you cook your beans I've never soaked them but I do cook them slowly (about 1.5 hr or 2) in a normal pot covered. No onion, no garlic just the beans. Let them come to a boil and then lower it to low heat. The trick is to cook them enough for them to be tender but not to have lost their shape. You want the broth to still be transparent, not cloudy. You have to add salt about 20 min before they're done. For them to take up the salt. This is to taste but you want them to be well salted. When you refry them you can use vegetable oil, canola oil, or avocado oil. You want more oil than you think. And you want the oil to be super hot. Always throw in some sort of chili pepper to season the Salt and give the beans a better flavor. A favorite is a chile seco or Japanese dried chilis. You throw it in when the oil is very hot and fry the chili for a bit. Then you put in the beans. They have to make a mess when you add them to the oil or you're not doing it right. So be careful oil has to be frying temp. Then let them simmer until the beans are bubbly and a bit more dry. Make them as thick or more brothy as you by frying them with more or less broth. When you smash them you want the oil, bean broth and beans to emulsify .
That was pretty satisfying to watch Benji, thanks for always sharing great ideas and being consistent in this channel. I been watching It’sJudyLife since I was 13, back when you and Judy were living at the old house. Love y’all, my sister and I watch you guys daily, basically start of our day! You guys are literally the most iconic RUclipsrs! ♥️
Thank you so much for sharing Benji! I have the same passion and philosophy for cooking as you do, and at the same time I relate to Judy as an old school rnb loving makeup girlie and as an example of a nurturing mother (which I hope to be soon)!! 💛
Ben your channel is a bad influence lol I was diagnosed with Crohns Disease at 36 I am now 57 enjoying watching your cooking vlogs if only I could stop droling the nachos looked delicious
OMG BENJI! These look amazinggg! You're right on time because Aunt Flo came to town and I'm craving nachos!! I gotta make these! Also peruano beans are the best! So creamy and delicious!
Why are you “hiding” the beans in the queso ? I’m from Texas and refried beans (pinto beans not black beans) with cheese in a tortilla are absolutely delicious and kids love them. Your nachos looked absolutely delicious and are served that way here in every Tex-Mex restaurant… but I’ve never had the queso with blended beans… just refried beans on the nachos… that must be a Mexico thing or a way to stretch the queso. Definitely planning on eating nachos this weekend.
Looks delicious Benji!! Thanks for sharing this recipe along with the how to vid! We are vegetarians so would alter using any lard or chicken stock in the beans.
That title is the perfect description, 💯!!! One of my favourite dishes & I couldn’t be more happier to see you do this. This looks amazing & it’s certainly going to be my go to Nacho recipe from now on. DELICIOUS!!!💛💛💛💛
Using steak for nachos is boogie, I've never tried nachos with steak but I assume if all ingredients is prepared properly I would think it would be good, but what I am more familiar with is either chicken or ground beef with nachos, usually ground beef, what all the Mexicans ever told me was that pretty much only rich people have steak with nachos. Even more cost effective way to prepare nachos than using ground beef instead of steak is using beans instead of ground beef. Beans has protein, iron, potassium, and other nutrients in it that we need. Using cheese, beans, and tomatoes from the garde, if you have a garden, is pretty typical . ❤️❤️❤️.
@@raydinacavazos3562 I'm sure. It's just I have never seen steak with nacho . I have been to Mexico several times and driven Texas every time because I live in Kentucky so it would out of the way to enter into Mexico through California or New Mexico, but even I'm Texas and Mexico, I just never have seen it. This is my experience ❤️ 🇱🇷 🇲🇽 🌮 ✝️ 👍 ✔️ 🙏🇱🇷
Benji! I love your cooking videos, I seriously watch all of them! I especially love when you include the girls reactions to your food especially Kiera! I love how shes the foodie critic! Would love if you included even more of their reactions
My mom makes the best beans!! All you need is salt and 1 garlic clove. Trust me!! Slow cook no pressure cooker. Emerson blender all including garlic cloves. She’s Mexican and also made us bean and mozzarella nachos all the time! ❤
Benji, i love you trying new methods/dishes because you love cooking so much! Much of my cooking is experimenting different cuisines and applying the knowledge I know/learned into new dishes. Cooking through exploration is so fun
Omg yum!! I do the opposite i put cheese into my refried beans so it's mostly beans. The secret to my beans is i mix a little mayo into it sometime cream cheese!🎉 will try beans into nacho cheese!
Ive literally seen peoole take coolers of meat and bags of moldy fruit back to costco and they will return it. Ive only done that once cause something went bad way sooner than it should have. Feels weird.
Beans are healthy... Cheese is not so healthy, but it is a condiment-style addition in this case. The addition of beans in the cheese sauce makes it a tiny bit less unhealthy.
The ingredients in this entire meal are very basic, minus the velveta, which he did to add it to sauce to help hide the beans. I’m guessing not all the kids enjoy beans (I don’t) I think this hack is awesome.
Highly recommend using chicken bullion to season the beans!! Learned this from my Mexican family! Bacon lard is also key so you did great! Also add a garlic glove or two! Talk about flavorful!❤
Ranchero beans
This!! Exactly what I would’ve recommended 👌🏼

Those nachos looked great from start to finish!!! But I think it's called a double Boiler not bRoiler. The broiler is in the oven. God bless you!!!!

I Love Nacho's! 😋😊❤ Benji: How about the beans? Keira: There not that flavorful! It's not like the one at TACOBELL! 😂😂 Keira is a tough Cricit! 😂😂
Love this!
Can we see a kids lunches for school video? If you haven’t done one yet?
Benji you should try making Chorizo beans! Eat it with eggs on the side and corn tortillas or tortilla chips! 😋
@BenjiManTV you should put some mayo in your guacamole for it won’t brown and another thing too if you put cottage cheese in guacamole it’s 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I use sour cream or cream cheese sometimes!🎉

The beans as they were before you use the immersion blender is how we like our “refried beans” more of a whole bean texture with some smooshed beans.
Sodium Citrate. Sodium Nitrate is used in the manufacture of gun powder and explosives among other things.
Ive actually been adding puréed white kidney beans into my Alfredo sauce. Truly a game changer.
smart!
That looks really really delicious!!😋
The love and care you put into making food for your family is amazing!❤😀

Try queso panela! If you like queso Oaxaca i think you guys are gonna like queso panela ( our favorite brand is La Chona in case you find it)
Looks delicious Benji!! Thanks for sharing this recipe along with the how to vid! We are vegetarians so would alter using any lard or chicken stock in the beans.
It’s a double BOILER, Benji! Not broiling. Boiling!
Is this my favorite video? Yes, it is!
Am I biased about it? Yes, yes I am 🤣
Wow!!! It's looks very delicious 😋😋😋 thanks for sharing, enjoy it.❤❤❤

Salt, garlic, onion, chile and bullion when you cook the beans will help with the flavor.

We usually have fajita on our nachos, here in Texas! 😊 it's the best!

What happened to the crema you bought!! Lol
Honestly, my mom takes a picture of the bad fruit, and they give her credit at Costco. I am not brave enough, but asian moms they have balls.
Benji, i love you trying new methods/dishes because you love cooking so much! Much of my cooking is experimenting different cuisines and applying the knowledge I know/learned into new dishes. Cooking through exploration is so fun
But I also recognize you have family favorites/palettes you have to appease to lol. Keep up the exploration though since you love the art of cooking
Also! Don’t know if you have discovered Kenji Lopez! He’s a Seattle based chef on RUclips! Great source of knowledge
Yes! He has!

Benjie! Scrape off the avocados well! So much good meat you’re losing on 😅
I am so jeaslous! I wish I have someone like Benji who would make a such a meals from sratch and care about ingedients :X. I love your recepes!!!
isn't sodium nitrate for digestive issues (to encourage a poop)?
Everything looks BOMB! I just have a question, for the pico why use grape tomatoes over the Roma tomatoes. Is it just a preference?
That looked absolutely delicious.
Just had tacos so yum! What kind of beans were they? I always use pinto beans for all my Mexican dishes.
Handsome Dad, tasty food! 🥰
Beans are used to make vegan cheese 😃
Ive never had cheese sauce on my nachos i should try it my family has always just used shredded cheese and baked it
Wow yummy stuff
Looks incredible!
Where’s the crema? Looks delicious 🤤
12:54 Better hurry up with my mango 😮
Ive literally seen peoole take coolers of meat and bags of moldy fruit back to costco and they will return it. Ive only done that once cause something went bad way sooner than it should have. Feels weird.
I always end up with bad/dry up cara cara oranges from Costco.(trader joe actually have much better and around the same price).....
You can start making your own Bacon with the Sodium nitrate though 😅
Yummy!
❤❤❤❤
Ok San Diego you both are true C.A. At ❤️
Ya probably could have put a little more beans in the cheese, Benj.
little by little. more later for sure :)
It's because those nachos are freshly made not packed ones
You must visit india for variety of food
Yum!❤🙌
I need you to come out with a cookbook please 🙏🏾
Yum!!
You forgot the crema.
Double boiler. I have no clue what a "double broiler" is, and I've been cooking for over 40 years.
It is called a double boiler not broiler. two different things Benji lol..beans are not healthy...you have Velveta in there lol

Get out of here with your negative hating ass
🥫
Double b-o-i-l-e-r Benji. Many Mexicans use Velveeta so that's okay.
Yum!!
