Good job Christian, mountain running is a whole different world, I give you lots of credit. I would love to get into this, but I'm not an experienced trail runner, and with my age, I thank God he gives me the strength to do road running. Looked like a lot of fun, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I'm grateful I found my way onto the trails when I did. It does almost feel like a different sport in ways, so I totally get it. The nice thing is, as a runner, I bet you can still use that stamina for a hike if you're ever near a trailhead 🤗
Hi Christian. I am signed up to run Breakneck next week and OMG your videos of the race and recap were so helpful! Course preview, comments and tips are awesome! Thank you !
You doing the half or full? It’s honestly a fantastic little race, well put together and lots of fun all day. I love it, skipping this year but will be back for sure.
Very helpful recap of your experience. What other trail races would you recommend? I signed up for the Escarpment Trail race - but that may be even harder than this one. Maybe see you in Brooklyn HM!
I’m a trail rookie, but I’m going to do the Paine to Pain trail half this October, just signed up today. Much flatter overall, close to NYC, highly recommended by many road runners I know too. It varies so so much when you get to “trail” racing because it can be anything from flat and buffed out to massive mountains. Depends what someone is looking for I guess. I’ll be there in BK!
It's possible sure. Not sure about something longer with this type of elevation change anytime soon at a longer distance. I've actually signed up for the Rock the Ridge 50 miler up in Mohonk before. I didn't go through with it that year but maybe that or something else in the future.

@Christian Runs NY
I started my run at 7:59 am and not 8:20 am like I told you b4 now
Great video!!
Christian could you tell me a small details about how prospect park is for a runner at grand army plaza thank you 👍
I’m not sure the details your looking for, but it’s about a 5k loop from there with one main up and downhill.
The 5k will cover 2 complete circle in the park and than leave it
would you ever do a longer trail runs - marathon / ultra marathon
