I am in awe of your perseverance but even more so how you pushed through the mental blocks. This is amazing. Way to show yourself what you’re capable of. This is inspiring!!!!
Thank you so much! This was definitely the hardest races I've done so far. I think switching my mindset from thinking in total miles left to run to changing it to only think the miles to my next aid station was definitely helpful on this run
I really like that you kept the low points in there. A lot of the videos I watch all show the good points. Great finish! Awesome to watch! Great job at problem solving all the way through!
Thank you so much! Truly. That's one thing Lexie and I always said that we would do: share our honest thoughts and emotions. We always want to be true to ourselves and share every story, whether we're are at our highest highs or our lowest lows. I truly appreciate this.
Huge congrats on this absolutely incredible achievement! You said early in this race that you're "not an elite runner" - who are you kidding!? Sure look like one! Amazing video.
You overcoming the mental challenges, will definitely inspire and give hope to those who struggle with those challenges. I’m sure that wasn’t your intention but I’m sure you just made a difference in one person’s life. Very inspiring and you’re a beast. Thank you for sharing
Just finished watching all of your ultra videos. Love them and thank you for sharing your journey. I would love to see more because i would like to start doing ultras in 2024 and your videos have been great inspiration and insight. And my fiancée loves your Disney race videos! We are doing our first Dopey in January!
Thank you so much! I definitely have more ultra videos planned in the future! Currently training for a number of the runDisney races. Can't wait to share the race calendar soon! And that's amazing! Have you decided which ultra will be your first? if you have any questions about ultras let me know! And can't wait to see you in January! I LOVE the runDisney races! Is this your first Dopey Challenge???
Thank you so much! And I'm already researching what ultra I want to try next! Half tempted to run either the Antelope Canyon 50 miler or the Lake Sonoma 100k! lol
Thank you so much! I definitely want to give that distance another shot. This race specifically took a lot out of me, but I'm so happy I convinced myself to continue going forward. Was researching other ultras today, so we'll see!
Thank you for sharing all of your vulnerable moments. I hit a wall at mile 8 of my 29 mile run, and I just couldn’t shake it. It was the worst run of my life. It was great to see you keep pushing forward despite it. Your mental toughness is inspiring.
Thank you! And I totally get you. I'm so sorry you had a bad run. Trust me, I've definitely had those runs before! This is totally random and maybe an idea for a future run, but when I have long runs and I hit a wall like that, I listen to a good audiobook because then you get so invested in the audiobook that you start to forget the wall. An audiobook got me through a back to back to back 20 miler training runs, and ever since then, I plan for something like that to listen to on my long runs. Worked like magic.lol
Oh man, it breaks my heart to see you cry, but I guess this is all a part of the game, especially at your level. I can kinda relate as I’m one of those dumbasses you mentioned that ran a marathon with a broken toe once. For me, it wasn’t so much the pain that made the race unbearable, but the anxiety and all the “what ifs” that I kept worrying about. I just couldn’t get into the zone and the whole experience turned into a never-ending nightmare as a result. I felt that you went through the same sort of struggle, and it made me very happy when you finally managed to shake it off toward the end and finish the race on a high note. You truly are an inspiration.
I learned a lot of lessons on that course for multiple reasons. And I totally get what you're saying. I'm really glad I didn't DNF at the halfway point, and that I was able to find a way to keep going. I've NEVER felt like that during any race or training before, and it definitely threw me for a loop. I'm glad that a friend was able to guide me into finding a solution for my stomach issues and whatnot. But wow...this was a race that I will truly never forget. Already researching and looking into what 100k I might try next. I just feel like I want to give it another go and just hope that the next one I won't have as many problems as I did on this one.lol
@@passporttorun Hey. Just an FYI. The TCS London Marathon ballot entry is now open. I know you were interested in trying your luck with this one, so here is your chance. Hope to see you there.
those technical trails can be hard and demoralizing they slow you down you bang your toes and feet everything is sore the heat along side of that can just leave you feeling done; but sometimes we plod along and keep going and we get a second wind and at some point we decide to keep going
Thank you so much! That race was a struggle bus for me.lol I'm happy that I found some way to convince myself to keep moving. Already planning on another 100k sometime. Really want to get a time for Western States 100 mile lottery. Thinking about attempting this distance again at the Lake Sonoma 100k, but not sure yet.
I use the ADV Skin 5! Definitely love my hydration vest! It holds up to 1 Liter. But, you can always buy a bladder to add to the back of your vest as well.

Loved how you shared the highs and lows of an ultra run. You are a rockstar!

Not sure I can comprehend this race, regardless, what a wonderful effort. You are amazing.

@@passporttorun wonder what the chances are for both of us getting in.
@@dmkouznet I have no clue.lol

Good race.
What time did the sun set?
Thank you!
And I honestly don't remember. I think sometime on or before 7pm if I had to take a good guess.
Thanks. I hope to be running it in 2024 for a lottery to western states,
nice was waiting for this!
Which vest and flasks do you use? Looking to try a vest for the first time, as my distances are increasing.

This is amazing! Also, the "cactus things" are prickly pear, FYI 😂
Lol! Thank you!
Well done
2:24 why does that look like a little mini volcano in the background lol
omg! It totally does! lol
I hope whoever you are running from doesn't catch you, because that is the only motivation I can even think of to make you run this many marathons.
Wow❤️🔥
Thank you! It was definitely a journey. lol
Did she ever consider maybe she had a dehydration issue ???? 🤷🏼🤷🏼🤷🏼
