Thanks for the playlist. I love your challenges!
Try your grits with a bullion cube, cheese, or a little homemade gravy.
Another cheap meal we do is chicken with rice and cream soup in the oven.

Look in the hispanic section for spices. They are SO cheap and honestly better than what you find on the shelves in the regular spice section.
This is such a great idea I can’t believe I’ve never thought to do this thank you so much Amanda I hope you’re doing well :-)
I never thought about it too. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the tips 😂
This is true i have a ton 🤗
I've noticed that too! Same spices in different section and brand can be a huge $ saver! And they seem to be fresher. Idk maybe because they get bought faster and restocked more often??? Great tip!
As a single momma of 2 boys thank you for this! I just subscribed. Also I can’t believe the amount of disrespectful comments. Thanks for helping this momma feed her babies for reasonable prices ❤️ God bless you and your sweet family ❤️
Thank you so very much for subscribing Stephanie! I am really so grateful and thank you so much for being positive😀😀
Amen
I haven’t seen a single comment that was disrespectful 🧐
Wow, some of these comments boy. YES, we CLEARLY see there are no vegetables or “leafy greens” 🙄 Like the title says it’s for On an EMERGENCY BUDGET. Myself and sadly sooo many other have experienced actual hunger and I rather eat high carb unhealthy meals and get more for my buck than not eat at all for a few days because I don’t have enough food to last the week or month. Of course this isn’t a long term solution to eat like this for months or years.. but in times of true need this is a super helpful video and I thank her for making it god forbid I ever hit true desperation and hard times again (which I pray won’t happen) I will keep this video in the back of my mind and saved. Regardless if there’s “no leafy greens”. Everyone talks about eating healthy and obesity in America yet, for example, a LB of fresh spinach, can cost between $3-$5 depending where you go but I’ve seen a LB of pasta for as low as $.80 in my area personally. Soo 🤷🏼♀️ and I get that at the end of the day pasta is easier to manufacture and cost of goods is significantly lower, however.. it goes back to the fact that there’s sooo much push in America to eat healthy and switch the way and things you eat but sadly a lot of us are just focused on eating at all and that’s just a reality.
THIS!! Like, if you have the luxury to really choose what you eat, and not just have to get the cheap stuff or limited items because you can't afford the healthier and better options, then you are doing better than most. It's unbelievable that people are mad at this video, when it's so helpful. They are either kids or people who have never struggled in their lives. Thank you for saying this!
Thanks for sharing your experience! Hope you are well and things turn around for you!
@@christinaaa_xo we cant spend $2 on spinach but we’ll pay $10 for 1 meal at McDonald’s
I am disabled & live in a converted minivan #vanlife Reality: today is the Dec 18, and I have $21 left for the rest of the month. I get paid at the beginning of every month. This video is going be be VERY helpful! (I know it's a year old video, but it's new to me) Thank you!
I am so sorry for your situation. I sure hope things start to turn around for you soon. And I sure hope that these recipes can help!
@@JuliaPacheco thank you for the kind words!
Thanks Julia so many people need this inspiration right now as money is tight for so many.
Thank you Nicole! I hope you are doing well 😊
I’m with you. We are family of six and usually one extra.
You got great deals at Wal-Mart, however, if you get some fresh veggies, and homemade chorizo, etc. instead of so many canned goods, you could have saved even more money. 😊✌🏼
@@care4557 you are blessed. Hugs
I think about Thanksgiving coming up. I LOVE sweet potatoes & yams. Would be great to do as a meal the day after, using the turkey, sweet potato and macaroni dish.
Please please PLEASE do an updated budget shopping video with these current 2023 grocery prices! 🙏 They are so helpful. It’s scary hitting the store these days and trying to make food stretch from paycheck to paycheck. These budget videos have helped me these last two years being a single mama with only one income.
Maybe a budget friendly kid menu video? Still healthy but things a little one won’t be intimidated by. (My daughter does not do spicy food or sweet food!)
Just know, these videos help a lot of us and I’m thankful you share your skills with us. ❤
Thank you so very much, Emily for your great support and I sure do appreciate your suggestion! I will definitely do more. I’m really happy to hear that my recipes have helped you with budgeting and you are such an amazing mama! I am sure being a single mom nowadays is just so difficult! Thank you so much for your positive support and have a great rest of your weekend💜
I just love her heartfelt need to help others even though she has her own life and problems. Winner in my book. She actually lives and loves more than herself and family. Mother of the year award in my book.
This is seriously so sweet! I really appreciate this :-) have a blessed week💜
When my Daughter was younger, I would take her grocery shopping. She was a year old. We would bring one really thick comfy blanket and put it on the grates underneath the shopping cart. She would bring her stuffed animal as a pillow and another blanket to cover up with and we'd make her a little bed underneath. She would crawl in and every time she would fall asleep. It became such a routine- it became her nap time. She's 22 now and has moved away. I miss those days.
😢 I have a 9 year old daughter and she's my best friend, I'm not ready for her to be 22 and moved away 💔 but I know it will be so someday and she'll be a strong woman 🥰 I think your memory is so cute 😍 that's a special time to remember 💖
That’s a sweet memory! Thank you so much for sharing that💜💜
Girllllllll...... as a Mother of 4 I absolutely LOVE how you make it "do what it do" for $20ish YES MA'AM!!! All healthy choices- BRAVO young lady!!!
Thank you so much Roxanne💜💜
These comments are the worst. These meals ARE healthy. Nearly everything is a whole food. People have no idea how to feed themselves.
Maybe there's a lot of saturated fats.
🎉thank you for that. Even if it were not exactly healthy she said this an emergency situation. I guess the naysayers have never had to choose between electricity or Medical (or such) and effing feeding your family. I appreciate these videos. I share them with people in my community who are having a hard financial time. And I share these with young parents so they see how they absolutely can cut corners and put a little money away to build a savings.
It also pretends that lots of people don’t already eat this way anyway (regardless of budget) or far worse; I know my friends did, their diet choices didn’t have much to do with what they could afford.
I agree. I have seen so many bad comments and that is one thing I hate about the Internet ppl troll and talk junk sooo much! I have done Soo many recipes from her meals and I feel great and they really delicious. They are super hearty😊
Julia that shows good character buying that tomato your child threw on the floor.. Good 👍 job. Wish everybody was so considerate.
Thank you so much, Bambi
I am so proud of your resourcefulness! Keep it up! I am 63 and learned new things and was reminded of things! Thanks sweet girl!
i love this channel. as a broke college student, i approve these meals. every day is an emergency food crisis lol
That sure can be true during those years! Have a great rest of your week😀
Work in the cafeteria kitchen.
I’m a SAHM with a very hard working husband and we STILL often struggle (who doesn’t?) But, when money is extra tight, I just do breakfast for dinner; eggs, pancakes, corn beef and hash (in a can). Thank goodness we love breakfast food! Stay happy and well everyone!
Thank you so very much for sharing that! That definitely works. And I sure do appreciate you watching😉💜
I feel your pain. We’re a family of 8 living on one income. Groceries are easily the biggest part of our budget. I’m so thankful my preemie isn’t on formula anymore!
Walmart, Dollar Tree, Big Lots, Ollie's, and certain other stores have Dollar spices. I never pay more than $1 for basic spices (and very rarely for any other spices). I find celery seed some places for $1, so if you don't wanna spend the money for celery because it lacks nutrients you can use celery seed for the flavor ❤️. Spices are where you get your flavor, and you don't have to pay a lot for it.
Cheap cinamon is not aa good as rhe better brands. The quality is worth the money.
these comments are not passing the vibes check! I don’t know why!
Thanks for putting this together! I’m starting this month’s budget goal and it’s to eat as much of my pantry and fridge’s food before I go grocery shopping. This is def useful. ❤️❤️
Thank you so very much for your support Ashley😀😀
Thank you so much for trying to help people stretch their food dollars. Inflation is hitting so many people hard.
Also there’s a lot of young people who have lost family recently or been at odds with their families and never learned how to cook, videos like yours make all the difference in the world for someone like that.
You are wonderful.
Well thank you so very much! That positive comment means so much to me. I sure do appreciate you watching and I’m so happy to hear that my channel helps you and I sure hope it helps other people too😉💜💜
I never thought to make a breakfast casserole to eat through the week
I have trouble getting the motivation to cook everyday and this would help
I make it in muffin tins and then have a container in the fridge. We just grab one or two and microwave.
@@kismet7645 ohh that's a good idea! Thank you!
@@kismet7645 Ohhh! Great idea!
I used to get to take home left over sweet potatoes from my restaurant job. They were already baked. I would wake up early the next morning, mix the sweet potatoes with Bisquick, milk and a bit of brown sugar and make pancakes out of them. Sweet enough that they didn't need syrup so my kids could take them as an on the go breakfast or put them in lunch boxes with hard boiled eggs, a yogurt for a yummy lunch.
Omg that sounds so good
@@shagrynpoiseen11 They are and they have to be better for you than just plain pancakes. Sweet potatoes have good stuff in them for you and you aren't getting all that syrup that's just sugar. Super easy too especially if you have leftover baked sweet potatoes.
Dollar tree has seasonings for 1$ btw !!! They usually have condensed milk powdered milk as well.
You could have saved a third of the chorizo for the pinto bean casserole and even bought salsa instead the tomatoes and used taco seasoning. I love all your ideas. Thank you 😊
I love this idea Kathryn! I can’t believe I didn’t think of this! Thanks ❤️
Why are people being so rude about this video, if you dont like the recipes ,then dont make them,
They might be helpful to other people
A lot of really hyper critical comments here, but I appreciate you trying to show different ideas for what people can make for such a low cost. Obviously people can season food however they want to when they make the recipe 🙄
Samantha I agree. Here's a woman who obviously has a busy life, and yet she's found time to help others. Wow what a beautiful woman.🙏🙏🙏 Anyone who has anything negative to say. Find a better way to help and encourage, not condemn someone who is trying.✌️🙏🙏🙏🙏
p.s Samantha you rock 🙏✌️😎
Thank you so much Samantha!!
This is wonderful honey, keep up the good intentions. There's so many around our country that need this information. I'm a senior living in sw Florida on a very limited income. And believe me, there's alot of us here just in this state alone. Our Mobil food pantries are very busy. If I could work I would but my arthritis is beginning to get the better of me at 66. I really appreciate that so very much. You are so kind. I am glad that these recipes help you and others. We all need help being frugal and I really appreciate your positive feedback 💜💜I’m so sorry to hear about your arthritis. I hope living in Florida helps some🙏

🏃♀️🏃♀️ here I go!!! Great Sunday morning recipe!!! 🤗🤗
While I didn’t grow up in the Great Depression or WWII eras when food had to be stretched as far as possible - this kind of ideology that you can still feed your family without breaking a strict budget is so important to me and I know my grandparents had to live like that with very little and make the most of it. Thank you for sharing your tips and recipes for us!❤
You are so right, Sara! My grandparents did as well and I have learned so much from them over the years. Thank you so much for your positive comment and I sure hope you enjoy some of my recipes💜💜
Some of these comments are weird - has no one seen a meal plan video before, you're nit picking the language of the title, despite full well knowing that she's making 60 portions of varying meals. Y'all are weird, this video was great.
My grandmother who was from the depression. Would crush up salting crackers in her eggs that we got from the chickens in the chicken coop. That extended the life of the eggs. That actually made it more filling and we couldn't tell honestly when the product was done. She also added vinegar to the ketchup bottle. People from the depression know all kinds of tricks to get food
Saltine... I meant and believe me I actually love ketchup to this day with extra vinegar
I stopped buying the cream of chicken type soups because they are expensive, heavy and overpowering in a dish, and full of additives. I learned how to make a healthier version from a LaLeche cookbook in 1983. In a sauce pan, melt one tablespoon of butter or margarine. Add one tablespoon of flour. Blend until smooth. Cook for one minute to get the flour taste out of it. Add one cup of milk and simmer. This gives you a white sauce. You can vary it by adding shredded cheese for Mac and cheese, chopped up mushrooms for cream of mushroom soup, chicken, beef, or vegetable bouillon, or finely chopped celery. You can double or triple the recipe as much as you need.
Thank you for this! I'm trying to cut down on processed food and this sounds really easy.
Sounds great!😀
I never knew this and I've got to say, this is fantastic!! Thank you so much for this tip!!
That's called a White Rue.
You add cheese= Alfredo Sauce and Queso Blanco Sauce(very much dependent upon what kind of cheese is melted in).
It's also a start to a good White Gravy too.
I've done this with cream on occasion. I seldom do that because of the calories.
I love this video. But one little tip, the smaler you cut the meat, the more meat pepole think they got :) Because you get some meat on every fork. Have a great day
I really love this idea thank you so much I can’t believe I’ve never thought of it! I’ll try i it 💜
If you do as Laila recommends, you only need one piece of chicken for a pot of soup. You'll notice how much further your meat lasts.

Pretty similar in Manitoba (CA) too, Sabrina 😢
It's easy to understand if you don't like what's she's making than don't make it. She's not forcing you. Also, if you don't want to use specific items she is then choose your own. How about props to her for even trying?
I appreciate the reduced-price meal ideas. I will say though, my hungry 4-person family would gobble up all that food quickly and ask for more. Teenagers eat a lot LOL I love the idea of sweet potato Mac n cheese, definitely a great twist on butternut squash Mac n cheese. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you so much Michelle! I really appreciate it! And I’m sure!😆have a great week:)
The baby waving and smiling at the beginning made my morning. ❤❤❤ She's adorable!
Thank you!💜
Budget-friendly tip: Costco shopping day is always rotisserie chicken dinner day. Less than $5. Then I pull all the leftover meat off the bones for chicken noodle soup or chicken salad, then put the bones in the Instant Pot for homemade chicken broth.
As an Australian and a coeliac, can't get my shopping this cheaply but definitely am getting ideas.
Someone in an emergency need-to-budget situation could EASILY make these 6 recipes stretch for 60 separate meals. The people complaining that its click bait are missing the point. (Also, Its very clear in the first minute that "meals" in context mean "servings," not separate recipes, the people complaining just have nothing better to do with their lives than nit-pick) These are obviously struggle meals and if youre struggling you are gonna be consious about portions. If you are complaining about these down-to-earth practical cooking ideas just know you are NOT THE TARGET AUDIENCE
Thank you so very much for all of that positive feedback. I really do appreciate it. Thank you so very much for watching and I really do appreciate your support🙌🏼🙌🏼
Consider buying miso (refrigerated section of Asian grocery or found in fancier supermarkets) instead of bouillon. Miso adds a salty complex flavor like bouillon, but without the chemicals and with healthful nutrients. The package is bigger and more expensive, but you get far more servings so price is probably similar
I second this! Miso is a much better and natural ingredient. I also would recommend some dashi stock powder(if you like' umami, fish flavor) you can get them in little pouches for a few cents or $1. You can also use miso to make dressings, marinades and even throw it in some butter and a”brown” it over med-low heat until nice and toasty brown for many things, Google it! I’ve been a chef in fine dining restaurants my whole adult life so you can trust me.😉
thanks!! i’ll try that
These have been a lifesaver. Being a college student on a budget having to feed two people I truly appreciate this
I’m so glad! Thank you so much :-)
I eat what is on clearance or the bulk section. Every week is an adventure.
Using water in place of milk makes the cooked eggs fluffy which is perfect for your casserole. If you use milk it gives the eggs a creamy texture.
Thank you so much Brian😀
My favorite cheap meal is salsa chicken with rice. Slow or pressure cook chicken covered in salsa, serve over plain rice. Delicious, cheap, and healthy!
As someone that has cooked all my life, may I make a suggestion. Please switch to a silicone spatula for your meat. Wood picks up bacteria from meat and eggs. Unless your soaking your wood spatula in vinegar and hot water after each use. Especially since you have your adorable daughter to cook for. Thanks for your videos, I enjoy watching them.
Thank you so very much for your suggestion! I appreciate your concern too. Thank you so much for watching and have a great rest of your week😀
still replying to comments on a year old video, ur da goat
Thank you so very much😀
you could of saved a 1/4 of your chorizo and cook with your veggies for your bean soup ,it adds a lot of flavor yo the black bean soup. Great job saving money.
I was curious, so I priced out similar items at my WalMart today, and the total was $38.11. The chicken breasts I priced were 3lb. frozen for $9.74. Chicken thighs would have brought the total down to about $34 & that was with a sale on 2.75lb. fresh. So for me, this is still a great budget grocery haul even at 2024 prices!
Thank you so very much for doing that comparison! I really do appreciate it. It is amazing how different prices are state to state even at Walmart. Thanks so much for watching and I appreciate your feedback🙌🏼🙌🏼
I agree, prices have gone up since the video was made. I find something at higher prices every time I visit the store. The basic ideas, creativity, and techniques used are still solid and helpful. I find it helpful to be positive with my cup half full, rather than half empty, as I go through the ups and downs of life.
I literally paused the video in the middle and stopped to make the stuffing bake. I used cream of mushroom and savory herb stuffing instead. I poured a cup of vegetable broth over everything, and I cut up half a stick of butter and placed the pieces over the top. It turned out great! I'm eating one now and have separated the rest to have through the week. 10 out of 10 would recommend!!
Thank you so very much! And I am sure it was extra yummy with all that butter and adding the broth to. Thanks so much for watching and have a wonderful rest of your weekend😀😀
If you don’t have an immersion blender you could also just take out about 3/4 of a cup of beans, mash them up, and add them back in. The starch from the smashed beans will thicken up the soup as well.
Holy cow. For $22, I can barely make my mozzarella stuffed meatballs, noodles and rolls. I'm amazed, Julia
Of all the budget videos I've seen out there this is definitely my favourite. The meals are cheap and you stay true by not adding lots of ingredients that you 'already had in the cupboard'. But most importantly, they look delicious and very filling. Well done, I will be trying these recipes!
You made my day! Thank you so much for being so kind! I hope you are doing well 😊
@@JuliaPacheco Ah, I have only just seen this reply! 😊 Thank you so much, I have also tried your casserole dishes and they are literally the bomb!
If you have an Aldi nearby give it a try. I love shopping there. I walk out w a cart full of groceries and pay under $170.00
I am almost 73, and love to cook and am creative so cooking is still fun. You are amazing, young, energetic and so much fun. Thanks for your connection. I have saved a lot of your recipes.
Thank you so very much for that nice compliment. That really does mean a lot to me from someone like you with all of your experience! Thank you so very much for your positive feedback have a wonderful rest of your weekend😀😀
This is my first time seeing a video of yours and it was spectacular! I am appalled by the amount of spiteful comments but I can't see their clouds keeping your rays of positivity from bursting.
That is so kind! Thank you so much for your support😀
Curious to know, why not a whole chicken? You can bone and skin it for probably what you gave for the breast and then the rest could be boiled for the chicken broth and meat. That would have saved on purchasing the broth.. I am amazed though at how well you did and the recipes are great. Very impressive!! Thanks for the video. Also, I subscribed..
Honestly the only reason I didn’t buy a whole chicken is because I’ve made quite a few of these videos and I did a whole chicken in one of my previous ones so I wanted to switch it up a little bit 😊
At first, I was like “where are the 60 meals?” Then, I started thinking about it and this is really enough food for my household to have almost 3 weeks of food. I’ve been lucky that we were able to figure out how to put food on the table all through the pandemic but I definitely could’ve used these more frugal ideas
I am so glad that you were able to provide for your family and come up with some good meals during these past two years💜good for you! And thank you so much for watching!
@@JuliaPacheco thanks for making these videos!! I love them!
You could add generic bisquick to the breakfast casserole and spread it further!
Just found you and LOVE what you’re doing. Taking the stigma out of cheap cooking. Eating inexpensively doesn’t have to be monotonous and boring. Great ideas here! Keep up the great work.
Wow! Well thank you so very much! Thank you so much for your positive feedback. I sure do appreciate it💜💜
To keep broth on hand we make roast chicken once a week. Then take the bones and vegetables add water , flavorings, stick in the instant pot for 2 hours high pressure on soup mode . I fill ( 7) 16 oz jars once done .
I don't shop at Wal-Mart (our local one never has decent meat or veggies) but I do shop at WinCo, which is an employee-owned store in the Pacific Northwest that has great prices and always has good meat. I also shop at my local Safeway because, with a little planning, I can still save money there. I also buy some items at Bi-Mart, another local employee-owned store in the Pacific Northwest; they have large bags of dry cat food, which is a good deal since I feed a group of 5 to 7 feral cats every day. My elderly indoor cat has to eat special food from the vet since she's diabetic (I've told her, "It's a good thing I love you!" when I've just spent $29 for 4.4 pounds of her special food. She just sits there with a kitty grin and purrs. She's 17 and we adopted her and her late sister as kittens, so she knows we're pushovers.)
I also use a rice cooker since I can never get rice to cook into anything besides mush otherwise. I've never tried to cook brown rice in it, but I worked out a way to cook Rice-A-Roni in the rice cooker (use about half of the water the box calls for, but use more if you like softer rice; we prefer ours firm.) I paid $15 for the small cooker we use about 8 years ago, and it's more than paid for itself.
I love WinCo. I use to shop there in California. Where is the WinCo located at that you go to? I feel like they don't exist anywhere else.
I really liked how you separated your cheese out right away to make it stretch. That was a great tip.
Thank you so very much!😀
Get your chicken bouillon in the Hispanic aisle. They have the cubes but also have a huge tub of loose bouillon powder for like 5 bucks. I love not having to crush the cubes or waiting for them to dissolve
They sell them at my Costco.
You are so resourceful! I have so many of these items in my pantry/fridge and before I watched this I felt like I had nothing to make! You’re inspiring
Thank you so much Natalie!😀
Jeeeezzzz this comment section. Y’all need to start your own RUclips channels apparently and tell us all how it’s REALLY done! 😂
Take what works for you, leave the rest and move on. Holy Moley.
Couldn’t agree more
“Nobody likes to eat yucky food” I’ve never heard anything more true haha... I don’t eat food if it doesn’t taste good so I agree haha
This is wonderful! Hubby and I are on social security. This video will be a big help. Your little girl is adorable 💕
Thank you so much Shari! And so glad this helps🧡🧡
I have a large family and I cook every night.
there a few meals I can make for $22-$25 dollars. But not many because we mostly eat seafood. I have shopped on an extremely tight budget and bought the meals I’ve listed below.
1.) spaghetti 2) Sloppy Joes & fries 3.) fried or grilled chicken salad. 4)chicken Alfredo, 4) beef mac n cheese or chicken mac n cheese with rolls 5) shepherds pie, 6) chicken pot pie 7)chili hamburgers and hot dogs
8) broccoli & chicken 9.) beef stir fry 10.) homemade pizza. 11) grilled chicken, bake potatoes and a green vegetable.
I find a whole chicken from Aldi's at 95 cents a pound is a great but. You can make a lot of meals from it...grind the breast meat with onion, garlic, add spices and bread crumbs and egg, and you have patties. Use wings and thigh to bake with parmesan crums, use the bones to make chicken stock, etc.......
Luba, that's good cooking 4 sure
Let's be honest: majority of viewers here aren't prepping for an emergency they're just poor and tryna stretch the budget, that's America for you
Why are you here ?
@@savannahromero574 I'm a poor American ❤
oh I thought 60 different meals for 22$ I know I am not the only one😮😞
Same. Definitely said 60 meals for $22. She made 6.
My 1 year old loves mac and cheese, after seeing your version I'm wondering what other veggies I could mash up and mix into it! Such a great idea, thank you!
I’ve done steamed cauliflower before! It’s easily hidden inside!
Cauliflower and sweet potato is my favourite combo.
I watched this expecting 60 different meals but was actually 60 portions. Not bad all the same. I used to be on an extreme budget and I'd get a full week's neaks fir 2 adults for £20 -£25. Helps if you're savy and can cook, and that was catering to my partner who loves his meat. Also helps to have a well sticked spice cupboard for adding flavour
I love those little sweater dresses. I had them as a baby and young child in elementary school. My grandmother and my mother crocheted them for me and I wish I still had just one of them. :-)
Y’all she said she was staying true to her budget and what she bought. That’s why she only used the salt and pepper from her cabinet. It’s a staple that most homes have. She also said she’s from New Mexico which is a state in the US. Grocery cost vastly varies state by state you might have to do a conversion rate from USD to your local currency or even state grocery rate. I’m confused as to why there’s so much confusion and frustration, she was very up front about costs and location and seasonings. Also if you’re on a $20 budget you aren’t going to get high end chicken it costs so little because it’s not high end. It’s edible and it works in a pinch.
You’ll never get a dozen eggs today under 2 dollars unfortunately. One of my staples as well. I also eat peanut butter, tuna, beans on a regular basis. On SS with disability. Thank you for helping people.
Very true. Thank you so very much for sharing what you eat with me. I sure do appreciate your positive feedback and I hope you have a good week😀
Try putting chorizo in your beans while you cook them!!! The best chili beans ever 😉
That is such a good idea! I’ll try it thanks 😊
best seasoning for chicken noodle soup is parsley, it makes it taste a lot like the store bought ones.
It sucks cost-wise if you have allergy restrictions like celiac, or obey a vegan diet, but there are still good ideas here to work with.
That is so true! It makes things a lot more difficult for sure. I hope some of these ideas help though and thank you so much for watching!
I really would've like to see the grit casserole . That definitely would've been a different casserole to see 👍
I’ll make it for you in another video like this 💜💜
I made the chorizo egg bake for brunch this morning for the new year. My family and I loved it! It was easy. We added sliced avocado and sour cream on top when it was done. Happy New Year! It’s my goal to cook at home more this year and eat out less. Thank you for sharing your awesome recipes! Wishing you and your family the best. Cheers!
That’s wonderful! I am so glad. Have a great rest your weekend and a very happy new year to you and your family!😀😀
I did an experiment using Canadian Walmart prices (choosing the cheapest options available), and it was just over $50. The frozen chicken breast here is $19.98 (and only has slightly more, like maybe an extra piece). Now that’s expensive. 😳
Yeah I am in Canada. NO chance these prices would be here
I’m so sorry! Wish things were different in Canada. Thank you so very much for watching and supporting me😀
@@JuliaPacheco No problem! Sorry to sound like a complainer. Your meal ideas are still very helpful even on our budget. I just almost fell outta my chair when you said the chicken was the more expensive one. 😂 I just use less and shred it up in a pinch. Your channel is awesome. 👏
I'm in Canada as well and I was wondering what the difference would be!
$50 is still very reasonable for these meals, but the price difference is crazy
chicken breasts have definitely gone up here in the states too, but I can get 40lbs of chicken thighs... for $23 from the same company her chicken breasts were from. But thats because they are local to me and have pre orders and sales all the time. 40lbs of chicken breasts nov 2020 was $60, now its $84. so supply and demand has definitely effected it. but there is more affordable cuts of meat than boneless skinless chicken breasts.
People who are commenting about GMOs. Everything is GMO. The corn you eat , watermelon , beans , etc. we had to modify them so we can eat them. So before your say all that stuff is GMO and is bad for you , it’s not it’s modified so we can eat it.
Yes, let the glyphosate flow through you
@@yabbadabbadoo467glyphosate is a pesticide. Gmo means genetically modified. Pesticides do nothing to to the DNA, but you can genetically modify plants to be more immune to bugs, which would make pesticides less needed
@@graziousgirl do more research, specifically on genetically engineered crops designed to tolerate Roundup
@@yabbadabbadoo467 plyphosate is still a pesticide tho... And I agree that those are bad and not all gmo is good either, just wanted to clarify the distinction 🤷🏻♀️
Not to mention, It really is a privilege to afford nongmo/whole foods only tho. Literally people that are this broke or having a struggle month don’t have the luxury to buy organic or whatever.
I really enjoy your money food budget saving tip. God bless you this holiday season darling.
Thank you so much! I hope you are having a blessed day 💜
For the viewers complaining about this is not truly 60 meals (60 single serving meals total); so it is 60 single servings for a single person. If you have a family of 4, it would be 15, (4 serving each) meals. But I do see that each recipe has different servings sizes, you would have to probably add sides to stretch these to make a complete meal for a family of four for each recipe. This is still very frugal though!
Thank you! Kinda misleading as the title of the videos but still appreciated
Chorizo Breakfast Casserole us delicious. I added 6 sliced leftover cherry tomatoes from last week’s groceries to the casserole. SIDE NOTE: Did you know slicing and cooking a tomato releases even more of the cancer fighting oxidants inside?
I was able to buy frozen spinach on sale last week (bought several bags @ 75 cents a bag) and added it to the egg recipe and the soup recipe. It really helped to round out the meal.
So healthy too Sabrina! Great idea💜
These are great recipes! Well done coming up with such variety on such a small budget 👏👏👏
Good idea to pre portion the cheese so you were able to stretch it much further.
You definitely got creative! Casseroles and soups are great ways to stretch a budget. 😀
Thank you so much my friend 😊
Wow! I did a $5 Dollars Tuna Noodles Casserole freezer meal from The Dollar Tree today.
It’s so sad when my husband and I got married in 1965 we spent $20 for a whole week’s worth of groceries. So if you can even get some food for $20 you are doing really good. Our rent was $130 for a 3 story brand new townhouse, we had a basement garage on the ground floor where I could have a washer and dryer and a place for protection from tornadoes and when I was pregnant and had my last appointment and he was coming home to take me to the doctor and he saw a tornado right where our apartment was. He thought I was going to be dead. The main level was a kitchen, dining room and living room, then a second flight of stairs up to the second level with two bedrooms and a bathroom. Luckily the tornado pulled up before it got to where I was waiting in the basement for him. Then after about a year we were able to borrow $650 from his parents and that was a down payment for our first house which we painted to put work equity into it and our 1,000 square foot 3 bedroom, 1 1/2 baths, living room, country kitchen, single car garage new house with a nice yard and a full basement and it only cost $18,600.
That is unbelievable! Inflation and prices have gone up so much for sure. Thank you so much for sharing that story😉
Wow. That’s incredible! Thank you for sharing!
Lucky you!
I liked how the ingredients were items I already buy. She combined them in ways I hadn't thought of!
Here at the end of 2021 and man... Inflation is KILLING me lol
So hard for everyone! It’s nuts😞
I can't believe how cheap the prices are there! $22 gets me either one pack of chicken or 2-3 veggies if I'm lucky lol
The prices sure do vary from state to state. This video is also done a year ago😀
Love this! Something I make all the time that my entire loves and it's super easy is rice, eggs and cheese! Just make some plain white rice, cook your eggs, cut your cheese and mix it all together. It's SUPER fast, cheap and good!!! You can make it so many different ways or add whatever you like!
Sounds great!!
we do this and add chopped up pickled jalapenos
@@janh1399 That's sounds sooo good! I'm going to have to try that next time!!! Thanks!
When you boil your chicken you should save the water to add to the broth :)
yessss gurl i love how ur recipes are relatable to like a “normal” family dinner cooking style like the easy directions it was perfect thank you so much
and your daughter is so adorableeee
Thank you so much Chiara😀😀
Everything today is a little over $36 but still a great way to budget meals
Sadly things have changed quite a bit! Thank you so much for sharing that and I hope you enjoy some of these recipes. Thank you so much for watching🙌🏼
Three years ago, I was in my local Walmart (Birmingham Alabama) and I was telling my granddaughter we needed chicken bullion for a recipe...all of a sudden this ANGEL SENT FROM HEAVEN (she looked like a little old lady in an electric cart, but ijs) stopped and said "Girl, you better try the better than bullion"
I did.
I've never looked back!!! 🤤😋🐔🥣
Omg yes !! They have so many a amazing flavors I tried the garlic one first LOVED it went for the beef one next LOVED it & the vegetable one LOVED it 😂😂😂
I have an Instapot and better than bullion is an almost daily necessity!
It is pretty amazing isn’t it Emily! Thank you so much for sharing that that made me laugh😀😀
As far as broth goes yes the bullion’s are amazing but making your own broth from left over bones and veggie scraps are better if the time is available not everyone has the the time or patience so bullions are just as good budget wise
I love bean soups! I've never had black bean soup, though! Looked delicious!💜💜💜
Thanks Jess!
My husband and I were using up stuff in the freezer last night. We made shrimp and grits bowls. We had a little bit of shrimp we cooked up, and some mini hash browns that we deep fried and made up some cheesy grits. Put the hasbrowns in the bottom of the bowl, then the shrimp, and pour the grits on top. You want the grits a little thin, so they get to the hash browns.
