- Today we visit many places...in this video we explore the #WEBDuBoisCentre in #Accra. And Yes I am testing out these hashtags, baby! Thanks to our tour guide, Patience and the knowledge and personal experiences of Queen Mother Juanita Britton and Kwame Alexander...I learned so many things of not just Du Bois the scholar, but Black culture as a whole.

"We search for the things we want to know, if we sit down all the time & wait for ppl to tell us what do we have to know as individuals, then we will never know anything"...wise words, blessings
The lady at the Du Bois center speaks deep and from her heart. Wisdom in display.Kudos to her.

I'm living every minute of this. Thank you for bringing us along!!
"I don't have to wait for somebody to push me to the place that I come from".... WOW that was an AHA Moment!!!

Yessss!!! the 14:10 mark...she SAID that!!!
Life Lesson ~ It's not anyone else's responsibility to push me to discover my greatness or to push me to walk in it!
The greatness of God's chosen people is inborn and divinely bestowed on our people and we have to know it, feel it, live it and enjoy it. In Ghana, there is the word in the twi language; "OBREMPONG" which means a person of divinely ordained greatness; who knows it, feels it and lives it, but lives it and others acknowledge him/her to have greatness, with no excess or over the top action in personal behaviour to show his/her greatness. He/she appears, works, walks, lives, talks and with no fanfare he/she is seen with greatness.
THIS STATEMENT made me rewind the video several times, and became inspiration for a poem. I love her matter-of-fact brilliance.
Thank you for documenting your trip to Ghana it has inspired me. I was already considering a trip there this summer, but now I am going for sure!!!

Zeal on rail:
STFU. If it ain't for you that is good. Please don't ever come over. Stay where you're at
I think it's beautiful to welcome people home. People deserve to be able to choose to return to their heritage Hopefully, we can build a world where everyone is welcome everywhere.

SOMEONE GIVE THE AFRICAN TOUR LADY A MEDAL-ASCENT ALSO DOPE
She was so bomb!
It is a foolish thing say someone in her own country has an accent
Welcome home beautiful African queen
You are welcome to Ghana, ÁFRICA
people who visit the centre and take photo shots should have their picture place there to serve as inspiration and pass on the message that indeed people kept coming in and out of the centre to witness the history of Du Bois during his stay in Ghana. and also re-written in history books those who make the journey for next and next generation because most people are still in the beginnings of getting to know Du Boi's existence in Ghana and his vision for his people as African Americans who are looking forward to make the journey of returning to signify that some people started the journey and it has to be continued till the agenda is wildly spread within our communities of A.A in the diaspora and the Caribbean and across the world.

Never....Marcus Garvey

You're such a beautiful woman. Welcome to the motherland.
Great Video! What was the name of that hotel?
Thanks! That hotel is Movenpick in Accra :-)
The colonizers want to keep you separate because the world is afraid of a united Africa of one Continent.
I loved seeing Kim and Emma in this video!
I am so happy I was able to capture these moments because...who would have knew :-(
Ghana has had a long history of European colonization
❤️ you and Jaylen, too!

Jooo great! When are you coming Back to Africa finally? I came Back 40 yrs ago and have never looked back!
That is so awesome for you :-) I never plan to move to Africa or any other country. I love being close to my family and traveling around as a "global citizen" of the world.
I don't think is strange seeing beggars in Africa, i see it right here in America in cold weather begging for money as well.

Curious to know what you think about the visiting the Slave Castle vlog
❤️
So was this a church mission trip?
Nope...just a trip some very passionate friends who see needs in the world and then makes things happen on their own.
Haha we call we don’t know the same way in Haiti 🇭🇹 too psst psst and also sucked in our teeth at something we find unpleasant
I have no dought Africa will is the place
💜💜💜💜
I here a lot of #ADOS is in Ghana. Im bias towards Nigeria, in a negative way. Have you visit there what are your experiences
I have not visited Nigeria yet.
Nigeria is LIT. Visit Lagos, the commercial capital, and biggest city in Africa (pop.25 million) (See Lagos nightlife vlog) ruclips.net/video/WW__XJZ8QkM/видео.html
, or Abuja, the first purpose built capital city in Africa, and one of the wealthiest cities on the continent (pop 6 million). ruclips.net/video/jJ4zUuWYSyA/видео.html These cities are seriously lit, and what ever you see in Ghana is like x10 in Nigeria, which is a bigger and richer country.
@@african-history-fountain lol 😂 I see you
Black is beautiful
Why don’t you guys do the research before going to to sites and struggling to get it right....or else shut up and let the museum docent speak...
Because its MY video and I can do what I want.
You don't have to bring the Caucasians along with you in this type of vlog.
Wait...are you talking about my friends? This is my life...not something I am doing for a vlog.
lol

Look Miss.. All Africans are not all chocolate so please let go. PURE Africans our light brown to.. Stop your American thinking... let it go.

Ghana don't love us like that! Tourist $$. They helped catch, hold and sell us! I've been to other countries, and everytime, I was glad to come back to America!!! America has it's problems, especially with justice, but get in trouble or accused over there and you'll long for America.
My brother is married to a Nigerian, and they look down on African Americans. If they become US cittizens, they never call themselves African Americans, they call themselves Nigerian-Americans, and are insulted to be in the same category with African Americans. Let's help us first then take a vacation. Successful African Americans come up and move to the subburbs! Now they moving to Ghana.
So you have met every single African from all countries in Africa and they told you categorically that they have a problem with African Americans?
You sound like a complete fool. I think YOU are the one with the problem with blacks who are not from the US so you are projecting.
FOH with that BS.
You do what you do and let others do what they please.
Blessings to the sister who made this beautiful vlog.
One love sis😘
