      linda b the school system and the media are intentionally designed to paint Africa very badly, poor, and dirty.
      You have to go yourself.
      The media and the school system is all lies to keep y’all away ( separating black people)
      They fear the coming together of black people so they start to plant false images in your heads in schools.

    It is refreshing to see people understanding how things are in Africa especially Ghana. People needs to go out there and experience things themselves. The media will never show you this. Because it undercuts their efforts to solicit money for the poor, which never get to the intended targets. People don’t live in a shithole. Someone might not have everything in life but people are responsible , courteous, clean and respectful.

    Who would have thought it all that salsa dancing in Ghana! The pool looks like a lake--it's so huge. A great welcome to the motherland. Just a few weeks ago I watched some of Mark Wein's video he did on different food dishes in Ghana. Look out for Banku made from fermented corn and cassava dough cooked in water into a consistent whitish paste served with okra soup. stew or pepper sauce with fish. Looking forward to the series, and maybe we get to see some local food.

    Please excuse those of us in America, for 400 hundred years of being stripped of our history, beaten and forced to forget!! Many didn't know, or care to connect... But God is awakening a " Sleeping" people!! Please if you are African in Africa ask " Us" our story, don't take someone who has not walked in our shoes opinion.. If you know nothing of slavery, of this American discrimination try to be sympathetic to our plight!! Slavery was " HELL"!! And that's putting it mildly, and many still suffer from it, it's been passed through generations... Many here hate that side of them... Many are settling for the division of America, because they have no hope... And America is telling it's people now, did you not know your own people sold you to us... Please! Be more understanding of those who can't afford to come and see the " Beauty" of the " Motherland"... Instead keep praying that God will open their blinded eyes

    I’m happy that our brothers and sisters has come home. But to us African were use to this it’s not new. Most of us that came from working class or middle class families in Africa leave like this. I’ll be honest when you said this is “Africa guys” I was offended like what did you expect. Then I had to remember I cannot blame you as many have been brainwashed and thank God to social media now you see why the white folks can’t stay out of the continent.

    • @FunandBudget
      @FunandBudget  5 лет назад +2

      Actually...this was not my first time in Ghana...it was my second. So when I said 'This is Africa, guys'...it was for my many viewers who have not been and believe that Africa is what the American media shows. You shouldn't be so easily offended. I went to the the friggin sand dunes in Oregon and said: This is Oregon, guys. And let me say I have friends from different parts of Africa...and when they came to America for the first time they were in grocery stores posing in the soda aisles because it was the first time they've seen anything like it. We all laugh about it now. There is a first for everyone, everywhere on this planet. My channel is about exploring and showing my audience my view of the world...because believe it or not, but some people never and will never have the opportunity to leave the state they live in.

      I totally understand what you are saying...I see it all the time. But we are actually investing in a village (mainly the lives of children) without a business tie attach. We do this work because these are our children and this is our village and God has linked us up in the most organic way. I do see people from China who stroll through the open markets around the village with their high tech cameras taking pictures of the art and sculptures without permission so that they can go and make exact plastic replicas. I say even when people 'seem' to be investing into a country, we have to be cautious becuase let's be real, that's what got Africa in this mess to begin with. The whole slave narrative was the biggest 'business deal' we know. We are there to help...no strings attached.

      @@thebestoflondon Would you equally say thesame of Americans celebrating Thanksgiving?🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
      If you're part of African history was the real African history, you would've known that while others were plunged into slavery, the natives were left to struggle through wars of resistance and with weapons like spears, daggers, knives, they could absolutely do less like Ethiopia did to resist colonization.
      In all, if it makes sense to you, these are artifacts, kept to remind us about history, sometimes, sacrifices are offered in these places (not human sacrifices ) in order to remember those taken away by slavery and those who died in the high seas. We do have the slave trade market in Man O' War Bay (Bimbia) in Limbe , formerly called Victoria in Cameroon.
      During canoe races , the inhabitants of Bimbia village and localities always offer sacrifices and prayers before the canoe race. An indication that the lost ones are all in our prayers.
      So I'd like you to understand that ancestry means a lot to every African tribe, village, ethnic group, and keeping these facilitates the ritual commemoration of ancestors
