Fantastic episode. Scott, your Canadian episodes are your best ones! One of my biggest frustrations with being Canadian is its pathetic legal system, which is on full display in this and other OG podcasts.
Amazing content! As well a French speaking Province changes so much...Finally an on the ground & factual account of what has been cooking for the last 40-50 Years in Quebec....
Hi Ken, thank you for your excellent show! I came up as a Millwright in the Local 1102 in Detroit. The business agent that got me in, and another who was later my business agent when the other retired, those dudes were definitely connected. They were old school and took no shit. I was a journeyman before I went in the army after 9/11. It took me about 20 years to make the same money as I made as a 22 year old kid……
I remember Ken Pereira well lol truly a man a principals I watched the charbonneau commission years ago and it was eye opening to say the least this guy has a deep deep knowledge I an actually shocked a bit to see him on this channel lol regardless I love it Ken Is solid stood in the face of so much corruption and never once bended. Also just pay close attention Ken is giving a lot of inside info into Quebecs construction, but keep it in mind that this game is played across Canada as a whole i live in niagara look up the burgoyne bridge project interestingly a quebec firm got the contract to build the new bridge and it was wildly overbudget and took forever to complete not to mention someone stole 40 aluminum beams from the jobsite who was later arrested lol danny rizzardo. Anyway, enough rambling, lol. Great interview, love the content.
Excellent episode Scott and THE Doctor!! Ken was a great guest, I hope you have him back. I also would like to let @OriginalGangsterspod know that Scott has done a much better job with the interruptions that people are always giving you crap about. Keep up the great work boys!!!
My uncle in Mont-Laurier, Quebec was a big wig who would go to bars and restaurants installing gambling machines, but not just in Mont-Laurier but Quebec City, Montreal and surrounding areas
Thanks Scott , good work . I can see you really love this stuff by the look on your face when Ken was talking . Nice to see when someone enjoys there work . By the way I was curious which city is your favourite too report on when it comes to mafia stuff ?
This is a new subject because I follow reformed gentleman uh umm 🤔🧐🙄😜😁🤨 and my favorite line from a good movie is I'm a union delegate can't get the truth from rubbish another good line from a good television series, there is no Mafia right 🙄😜🤨😁😮🤯 Mikey S gave me some good advice I was going to say something to a agency about something I knew about and he said say nothing, great advice.
Ironic...because NYC and most American cities were DEAD as far as construction in the 1970s...The only work was the Canadian Alaskan Pipe Line and Oil platform work in Texas...
Unions are necessary, great and noble entities. If youre going to be a working man, youre best off being a Union man. All other things being, however, but they are only as useful & noble as it's leadership.
I have to disagree i believe Hamilton Ontario the city i was born an raised .if u do your research scott the perri gang of bootleggers were doing buz before the liquor ban its going back to beginning of the city being almost founded but hamilton had direct contact with detroit an buffalo
My brother in law was a journalist in Montreal when they were building the Olympic Stadium. He said the same thing: Cement trucks being counted four or five times, widespread corruption, etc. The mafia has an iron grip on construction in Montreal.
As they should...who else is going to work construction today..gen-z youtube and tiktokers? :P Only the mafia can find dudes who can handle hard tough all-nigh crazy assed physically-exhausting work today...usually ex-inmates..the same goes for the port of montreal. Its why nobody argued with the hells runing strip joints..no other dudes could handle those women!! :P
You clearly have never been to Montreal. The same street has been under construction for 7 years. The city is falling apart. It’s rotten. The street signs are rusting and falling of the poles. The potholes are huge. Nothing gets done because it is so corrupt. You cannot drive anywhere because of “construction” but nobody is working, they just look at it and it just sits.
@@luxtrichoma8458that's the city governments fault for not putting money into infrastructure and putting it into communist social programs... Oops ... I forgot the Politicians pockets the real mob
As well they should... As a union construction worker here in New York City we did much much much much much better when the mafia had as you call it a grip on things... Now the politicians and the billionaires have control of everything they hire illegal aliens pay subpar wages and the union men who used to be able to feed their families well get nothing of the pie
I'm a 40 year union worker in NYC ... now I'm construction... When the mob had control union workers flourished...jobs, OT, etc... great benefits with nice lives ... Now that the politicians and billionaires control everything they hire illegal aliens and line their pockets... The mafia is the JV team, compared to politicians
