I agree with the liter thing, people fixate on this, but they should be looking at the footprint of the bag on their back to get a feel for the size for them. On the other hand, other people obsessed with measurement size who are worried about the bogeyman of "personal size limits" on "budget carries" or "fitting underseat". Having traveled a lot, like every bag thats not hardcase luggage fits underseat on most planes unless you get stuck with an electronic box in front of you. An extra inch in some dimension isn't the end of the world, bags are soft goods, if not overpacked they fit. If they make you check it in, they were looking to do so and you gave them a reason with how you packed, its not the end of the world, just adapt, thats what people do.

Bo is like a bag philosopher, I like this man. Agreed on the BE's litres thing. I also think asthestic is subjective, like BS Errant and BE Citadel, both which I own are asthestically pleasing, Evergoods CPL & Goruck Heritage exterior are pretty nice too, they give off a minimal and utilitarianism vibe. But indeed, they are expensive, not to mention shipping cost. But hey, Evergoods now offer free shipping. Avi bright interior is spot on. I thought it is only my OCD with bags which I was ashamed to say, but really, bright interior is actually one of my top consideration before buying a bag.

Aaron need your opinion.. I am traveling to Tokyo for a week. I am trying to narrow down my 3 "EDC" down to 2 EDC bag...
Which 2 would you pick of the following 3?
      - Trakke Banana Cross Bag (2L sling)
      - Ablecarry Thirteen (13L)
      - Bellroy Venture Ready 26L

Love the discussion surrounding the tech pouches. I’m a massive Evergoods fan, however, there’s a little known tech pouch that’s newer and doesn’t get a whole lot of love…. The Tortuga Tech Organizer.
Reason being, it’s large enough to fit anything and everything you can in the CAP2, BUT it’s softer Xpac shell allows it to shrink down to a much smaller size if it’s not fully loaded out. Amazing tech pouch and conserves space as needed.

I agree that the Citadel 25 is bigger than 25 liters but it's not 30 liters. Why? Because maths tells us it can't be: 50 x 31 x 18 cm = 27,9 liters while within the bag there's still a bunch of material which takes up space, too. Additionally I think that manufacturers don't necessarily name their products to state the exact volumes but to give a rough range, a "class tag" so people can have some kind of orientation. So the very best bet it to order one and test it yourself and send it back if you don't like it. Great episode!

I'm a bit shocked, Aaron, that you are just realizing the utilitarian nature of bringing a sling with a travel bag. Retired and living abroad, I never go anywhere without my sling. I regularly leave my travel bag behind and only take my sling, or combine my sling with an EDC. I can't remember the last time I left my house - errands, day trip, short trip, long trip - without taking my sling. I always want my valuables with me - wallet, phone, eye drops, pills, small snacks, water (Memobottle fits in sling), glasses, other small items. These are ALWAYS in my sling. 24/7. I've never had an issue at an airport taking both a bag and a sling on-board. Aside from wearing clothes every day, when I leave my house, there is nothing I take with me and ACCESS more than my sling. Even at home, my sling is always packed with the personal items I listed above. Oh, I need my wallet to buy something online? Where's my wallet? Nearby me, in my sling. Lol.

who is Ariv man. it's really hard to hear him talk about his opinions, he comes across as so condescending, as if only his opinions are right, and everyone else's opinion is garbage. e.g about the quick access pocket, it's just your preference, not everyone wants it, it adds additional costs to the bag, to some it spoils the sleekness, etc etc. You say you're a seasoned bag user, why are you so angry about the liter thing, you should know that it's just a rough guess, there isn't any good way to gauge, and if you say your friends are going to be disappointed with paying for too big/small a bag, you should give better advice, considering you're "seasoned"

The yoke pocket on the Evergoods CTB26 (it's my Goldilocks travel bag) is a quick access compartment for me. The front compartments on that bag are not quick access. They are easy access when you are on the plane or whatever form of transportation you are taking during travel. Quick security tips : I use a S-Biner Micro Lock to lock the zips for the main compartment and the yoke/laptop compartment. I choose this way of security compared to using a TSA lock because I like to be low profile and stealthy where it doesn't look like I have valuables inside my bag and also it's much easier to lock/unlock the zips. Let's be honest, if you forgotten your combination the last thing you wanna do is use a small plier to cut the TSA lock and look like a fool 👌🫡
