Hi Mr Dexter, I would like to add my success. I did not change the water of the fry as you suggested after 3 days. Mine stayed in the spawning box, like yours, but 2x smaller size, for two weeks before I moved them. I had some plants and snails in the tank as well as almond leaves. Only 2-3 inches of water. I suggest you try water plants to absorb nitrite and ammonia from the water before they become a problem. It saves you this risky operation. I had about 60 fry and 90% survived for 2 months so far. Thanks again for teaching and inspiring me.
@@Goldenstreamer i think in this video he is doing the same but he move it earlier in a small grow out tank, coz nt all ppl have a big space. Thats my assumptions. But still i even see some of my local breeder move them immediately once they free swimming and they are just fine lol. I guess when they are breeding large scale they dont really care
Hi Goldenstreamer. I have 3 questions, i would be grateful if you could help as im planning to breed bettas. It's easy for me to get water plants so I would like to try using them. 1. What plants did u use? Duckweed? 2. When did u first put the plants in? 3. What did you feed the fry when they first hatched? Did they rely on infusoria from the water plants? Thank u in advance!
Dexter you are so full of energy and love doing what you do. I have learned so much from you. Thank you so much Dexter may you always stay blessed. keep it up.
Dexter, greetings from Maldives. May God Bless you and your efforts. You are an amazing man. Your knowledge is vast, your heart is pure and nobody becomes poor by helping others or sharing knowledge ! May you prosper !
I'm Thankful of your series's about Breeding Bettas and I follow your guidance and procedures, now my first pair successfully lay thier eggs and now it's already 1week hatch of Betta Fry. ☺️ It's my first time to Breed Bettas.
From day 1 to day 7 i like to make sure i have copy of your video. And im planning to start breeding of this kind of fish. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Very big help to all. I love fish. I love planting..i love farming. I have free range chicken too. All your video help me a lot kuya Dexter. You're being part of my success. From aklan philippines
Hi Dexter. I am successfully taking care of all my bettas, 3 females and 6 males. They are happy and so beautiful. I am a new betta hobbist and am learning mostly from you. You always seem to respond to my questions before I even ask. I have been successful in mating the same couple twice. I have been successful in creating a habitat that they are happy in while mating process, and spawning and eggs have been successful. I learned something today that I must've missed from your other videos. After 3 -5 days, I have noticed that fewer baby bettas are left until they are all gone. Today from your video, I learned that after 3 days you must transfer the baby bettas to fresher conditioned water, because of all the amonia in the mating tank. You have given me the Will to try again. I have a created a fish room so that my mother who suffers from anxiety and depression can enjoy, she mostly loves the sound of the water in all the tanks. Thank you so much..
Thank you for sharing Dexter. Everyone has their own method of breeding bettas and hatching bbs. But your passion and flare truly inspires anyone to give it a try. Thank you so much for sharing your techniques and especially for the humanitarian generosity to those less fortunate. You my friend are truly bless . Keep up gr8 work.👍 Personally i would keep bbs eggs in the freezer section of fridge as heat spoils the eggs. Additionally bbs eggs are expensive locally so i would decap using bleach to remove egg shells and maximize on the use as i can feed unhatch eggs as well as the live bbs. As for the hatchery i would invert the bottle and have the air blowing from cover as it provides maximum circulation of the eggs as it tends to settle as in your method in the bottle corners and not get lifted in water. This results in low hatch rate percentage. I would highly recommend testing the salinity of water to increase hatching percentages. Hope thus helps. God bless. Happy holidays 🎅🎅🎅🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄
Thank u Dex I have loads of eggs now only problem the father seems tired not swimming that mutch but loads of eggs thank u so much I got the almond leafs from wish and I must say it works great
Truly enjoyable & fascinating education! I am grateful you have made these videos. I have been curious about breeding bettas but I don’t know what I would do trying to sell 100-300 young bettas. Lol 😂
Dexter, I've been following your breeding betta videos ,I've bread my bettas and daddy is baby sitting the eggs now - day 2 ,I know you feed baby brine shrimp for their first feeding 1 day after their born ,have you ever cultured " Infusoria " you can make it easy by putting some lettuce leaf or green vegetable matter in a big jar or container , put in water from one of your tanks and leave it set in a sunny but not hot area for about 4- to six days and you should get a culture bloom , to my understanding the microorganism safe smaller than baby brine , let me know if it works out for you .
feed them with infusoria, you can make infusoria simply with used water from betta fish, the older of the water will be better, then put a little pelet in it. put in the dark place and wait for a couple of days.
Hi ,i am mani ,from india, i love this beta fish, i love to breed them in a small quantity at my house, and i love your videos, keep on going, and i have become a fan of your videos
Hi Dexter, love your videos and the details in this series, one thing i'd like to add, reason why we don't feed the newborn fry right away is because they are born with an yolk sack which they will feed on and consume for about a day or two, that's why when we say " free swimmers" is because they consumed the sack already and need some bbs :D
Thanks Master Dexter, you really inspire me, and I do start my own betta fish breeding, now have plenty of baby Betta fry, will put effort to raise them up
Out of all the videos I've watched on breeding, you make it the simplest. I live in Florida and winter came. I started to scramble for minimum breeding temps. Seems over 75 degrees is ok, but 80 seems the best. What's your opinion? Awesome channel, love watching.
IDK if this helps, but my AC broke and poor beta fish has been in mid to high 80's room. It seems to be pushing him into next making mode. Hope that helps.
I have started conditioning my all white half-moon female and my dark blue with red fin delta male today. I hope I'm as successful as you are. Great video💯👍
kuya dex love your videos po watching from Los Angeles! Dami ko na na breed na betta galing sa mga ideas mo! God bless you and more vids to come about bettas!
Love Betta's! I have 2 males and will soon receive 2 females. The males are in separate 1gallon tanks with some live plants and a couple Cory's. They are very happy and healthy. I will put the females together. When I was a teen, we had a breading pair. It was fun. I don't know if I will breed these.I love your videos. I recall it was very easy breeding. I had a 10 gallon community tank at the time. It can be done.👍
Great video po ,big thumbs up po,Learned many things .Now I will follow your instructions for my betta Fry to live.but the problem is wala pong baby brine shrimp eggs Sa amin at gustong gusto ko nang mag breed😔😔 ...pls any recommendations of fry foods to feed my upcoming Fry's...
My siblings and i argued about the baby bettas. Kasi namatay yung mga isda, they all settled at the bottom. I know that the yolk is still visible from their stomachs but it has been a day wherein i didn’t see any fry swimming. I may not know all about fishes but i know that it has all died. I don’t want to argue much but they were saying that it’s still alive. I’ ll wait for a few days before saying i told you so 😂
Thanks Dexter, another great video. That container of brine shrimp eggs would only be about 20 grams (you said 200 grams) Just so people don't get confused. 😊
Greetings Mr. Dexter, thanks for this video information; my question is, what is there to replace if I can't find that kind of leaf you use in the plastic box for bettafish breeding?
Hello Dexter i love your betta breeding series, the only thing i cannot figure out is when and how do you feed the adult male betta when he is taking care of the eggs, or you don't give food to the adult male betta?? Please let us know..
What are the other options of food for the baby bettas...? Even none live food options... Can you please give tips... Some people don't get any baby brine shrimp or damians.... Are there other any options.. please make a video it.. thanks 😀
