@P.J. Fleck Football is a team game. That 2011 Broncos team had an elite rushing attack and a top half defense. They went 8-8 and benefited from catching just about every brake imaginable in that playoff game vs PITT. Tim Tebow was absolutely atrocious, non factor throwing the ball except for one play... I assume you've player football before and agree with this unequivocal narrative ?

***** Luck kind of does exist and if you say otherwise youre an absolute idiot. Maybe not in a superstitious view but in a statistical view it absolutely does. Teams that go 8-8 statistically are unlikely to make the playoffs. If one does it happens because something statistically unlikely happened. Thats called luck. Basic math
Except that you are wrong. Tebow didn't play as the QB the first 5 games of the 2011 regular season, so your 8-8 is wrong. That puts him at 7-4, it wasn't that hard to look up. The team had a 8-8 record.
***** May be the case, but the QB situation is so bad newspapers are calling for him back haha. I think trading for Tebow was the peak of Rex Ryan's downfall.
Randy Smith I don't think Rex Ryan is any worse of a coach than when you went to the AFC Championship. He just hasn't had much luck with QBs or help from the FO. He's one of my favorite coaches in the NFL, and I hope he stays with his team after this year.
tebow was never a good quarterback, but he fought his ass off, he probly should of been a fullback or something else. whenever the Broncos traded him to the jets. but c'mon you can't rip the guy like they did. tebow is a good guy, they honestly probly got tired of the media talking about him all the time. espn went overboard on tebow, even when he wasn't in the league anymore they still would talk about him.

I love how these Tebow lovers don't know anything about football. Tebow had the worst QB rating for a starting QB that year and the only reason the Broncos made the playoffs that year was the clutch play of their Defense. Go and look back at those games.
So why were they 1-8 before Tebow started? What happened that was so different? I don't give a eff about analytics if the guy is the catalyst for winning.
They were 1-4 before Tebow came along, threw him in there and lo and behold they beat a 12-4 Steelers in the wildcard round of the playoffs. He wasn't good in a traditional sense, but he was a winner and got the most out of his team with what he could do. Denver should have spent more time developing the guy, maybe even let him learn under Manning, but alas. If he got proper coaching/training and learned the right mechanics? Dude would have been a total menace on the field. Too bad he got passed around from one team to another and never given a real chance outside of pregames. I know we like to discard any credit to Tebow, cause obviously, but he was just as clutch as that defense was. He really lit up when it was the fourth quarter. People often say the first three quarters were painful to watch, but when it really came time in the fourth, something lit under Tebow and he went straight down the field and won games with his team.
If I had to guess, I'd say Tebow was brought in strictly from a sell-jerseys-and-get-media-attention standpoint, on orders from the owner. Eli Manning half-joked over the summer that he'd just won his second Super Bowl, but was only the third most talked about quarterback in New York.
Exactly, and that's why the "you're-anti-Tebow-because-you're-anti-Christian" nonsense doesn't fly. Reggie White was just as religious and just as outspoken about his faith, but no one in their right mind would have called him "terrible", unless it was along the lines of, "Reggie White gave a terrible beatdown to every quarterback in the NFC."

Um, no. Tim Tebow's biggest problems are that he can't complete even half his passes (46% completion percentage last season), doesn't have the pocket awareness to avoid taking sacks (took more than Brady or Brees, even though they played in more games), and tends to fumble when he takes those sacks (averaged 2 per game last season).
Look, those of ya'll who are STILL trying to hold to Tebow's career at Florida and what he did LAST year. When you are a quarterback, your money maker is your ARM, not your feet,PERIOD!!!!! If you think someone can make a career off of fourth quarter comebacks, you are DELUSIONAL!!! Like teams won't catch up to what's he's trying to do. Secondly, there are PLENTY of NFL players
The jets destroyed Sanchez. He had so much potential, but bringing Tebow in put too much unnecessary pressure on him. No idea why Tim decided to not utilize an athletic and fluid throwing motion to deliver a pass on time and accurately. He was literally the worst NFL QB I have ever seen. A great athlete, yes... but literally not good enough to be a CFL backup. There's nobody to blame but Tim. He chose to throw a football like a javelin.
Im a total Atheist and hate religion but I always felt bad for Tim Tebow. People hated his positivity I think. People just like bad attitudes and endless confrontations more.
Anonymous comments from teammates? More than a dozen? The Daily News says? Why were they not brave enough to give their names? I never believe a report based on what a reporter says that anonymous people told them because it causes the credibility of the reporters story to come into question.
You should hear what the Denver players say after Tebows departure. It's more subtle but read between the lines. You especially see it when they're asked on their thoughts of getting Manning. They use the term "real" QB a lot.
The Jets were always an irrelevant team to me because they've been so lackluster in the past, but to me now, they are the lowest of the low for how they handled the Tebow situation. Tim clearly has talent, he showcased it in Florida and Denver, and for his own teammates to call him 'terrible' is sickening and shows how truly broken this team is. They never gave Tim the chance, how can they say all this horrible stuff? They're current QB's are awful, and they never gave Tim a chance for more than a 3rd down play where he was in a crappy situation thanks to the crappy team. I am happy whenever the Jets lose because of how they treated a good man like Tim.
you ignorant piece of dog shit.. how are they lackluster and irrelevant when they made it to the afc championship twice in the last 4 years. tebow was a terrible qb and always was
Rex can't let him play .... He'd actually help the team win. What a hoax!! Why didthe Jets acquire him? Tim is not a back-up anything. I can't wait for him to get the fair shake that he has worked for. Whatever team does that is going to have a hell of season next year. It is going to be on!!!
Toxic behavior, not worth Tebow’s Time! People hate him for being a good guy. If you really had a problem with Tim being a bad quarterback, talk to the coach. This was about tarnishing Tim’s image. This was Personal! We always get caught up in what someone is saying that we ignore their actions and what they are doing. *Personal note to add: if I secretly hated someone. I would never tell anyone, I would use a more legitimate reason for why they don’t belong. However, every team is different and I’m sure every quarterback impacts the game differently based on the talents of their team, but if 12 players are going out of their way to say these things then it shows the franchise is desperate for talent at the expense of team morale.
The guy practically played for only 1 full season, most rookie QBs put up worse numbers, especially for TD-INTs. People judged him way too quickly. Paxton Lynch and Brock Osweiler were worse.
@@edman813 In any regard, Tebow was the worst of the worst for mechanics. It's no fluke that Belichick, the greatest coach of this generation, signed him and cut him after one atrocious preseason game.. in which he was in his 4th or 5th pro season. The guy stunk. You know it and I know it.
Tim Tebow is still the man! He was with the Gators, and he definitely was with the Broncos, in my opinion no other team really gave him that much of a shot and he's still being canned by the league.
@@aiden395 no one gave him a chance bc he wasn't good enough to deserve one, brainiac. It's like saying Steven Hawking could've outrun Usian Bolt but no one gave him a chance..
@@FLK-BC um... took the Broncos to the playoffs after they had a terrible losing streak.... beat Big Ben in his prime in the playoffs... is on of the most athletic people in the league stfu child
@@aiden395 You actually think an all time coach like Belichick or a respected offensive mind like Chip Kelly could take an extremely close look at TeBoW in training camps, practices and preseasons and decided he's not good enough to be a third stringer bc you see something they don't? Good luck with that, dumbass
Hearing that Tebow is being torn apart by his own team for the first time is terrible to hear as a Jets fan. Tebow has always thought positive and helped out the team where ever he could and his own team mates are ripping on him? This makes me want to stop being a Jets fan for good. What kind of team does that?
i'm a panthers fan and nobody is about to give up on cam even tho no success for the panthers yet. tebow did pretty well at denver for his first run in the nfl. a team needs to start tebow a few years to see what he can accomplish. he has more than earned a chance.
The problem was spiritual. Demons or the contraring spirits in those who oppose Christ see Tim Tebow as a threat to their "cultural stronghold". Simple as that.
Tim Tebow should still be playing in the NFL, the NFL must have lost their minds. I'm rooting for you Tim, you're a great christian man and an exciting football player to watch! GO TEBOW!
Ya but now he plays minor leauge baseball, he had a desently long career he wouldnt have awantedto play any longer than he did. But yes i love how upright and humble he is!
***** They never gave Tim the chance to play badly! The only time they put him in was on 3rd downs where they had bad position thanks to the crappy quarterback and offense they gave a million chances to!
They came against Tebow because they don't like Jesus. That's what it all boils down to. Happens on my job to me. I bet he still prays for their salvation. Love ya Tebow. Be blessed brother.
They are jealous and tired of him and his "goody two shoes". Tim is awesome. It's easy to complain and point fingers but what are all the anons doing to make things better for themselves and their team. I am a died int he wool NYER and I adore Tim's fighting spirit, good attitude, lack of negative things to say about other people, and the boy is a clutch baller. I do not care if how he helps get the wins! SET THE BOY LOOSE ALREADY!! I would buy season tickets (excellent ones) if they do!
Tim Tebow is a Follower of Christ and Gods given him a responsibility. And Tim Tebow embraces it. A lot of things in this world are going to try to bring him down. But Tim Tebow has God... And thats all he needs is God.
Sanchez throws at 55% completion, which is mediocre. Tebow throws between 45% and 50%, which is terrible. That in a nutshell is why Tebow didn't start ahead of Sanchez and why Elway, the third string QB, is starting ahead of both Sanchez and Tebow. For all his accolades, Tebow's rushing yards per attempt isn't very high among scrambling QBs either and most also throw the ball better than he does. I can think of several better backup running QBs than Tebow.
Tim Tebow scored 34 times in 549 touches in his first 15.5 games and 13 plays. In 2017, this would rank 2nd in the NFL for total scores by a quarterback. Tebow is the fastest scoring QB in NFL history in their first 16 games of playing time.
Football is his day job. Whether he wins or loses is unimportant. God's rewards are not based on our popularity, our "successes," or our portfolios. "Well done thou good and faithful servant" comes to those who live their lives in light of eternity, rather than focusing on this brief time on earth.
With that being said, Tebow is a solid player. The argument is that he's good with his feet. Ok, power running back, anybody? Fullback, maybe. Cater to his strengths, NOT HIS WEAKNESSES. If the Jets really trusted his ability to be a starting QB, don't you think they would've put him in by now?
people can say what they want about tebow but all I know is that, although it wasn't pretty, he at list won. He. You can say what u want but u can't take away his stats. 6 come back wins? led the broncos to a division title? And u still bash the guy. Man! Plus it's not like they even got anything going for them after he was gone. All I know is that tebow although he has his struggles, he is a stud and he knows how to win. If u want a qb that's going to make u look good and all then fine go with geno but if u want a qb that'll get u wins. I advice Tebow
Boy, we are on the same page. maybe not the BOWL but at the very least a few games into the playoffs I have not been this irritated by anything football related since Troy had to retire... Actually that is not true I was pretty PO'ed when I found out that Vick was organizing dog fights. To bad TT was not stuck on the bench in New England at least he would have learned something and it would not have been such an insult !!!! HMMMFFF!!
What's really terrible is that their is someone in the Jets locker room makes gutless comments about his teammate. He should remove his panties, man-up and stop hiding.
Here's what I think is going on: if Ryan starts Tebow and they win out, then Ryan will look like an idiot for not doing what was best for the team all along.
i wasnt trying to compare them i was just pointing out no one expects a new quarterback to win it all right away. every new qb is given a few years to make a name for themselves. but for some reason no one wants to give tebow the chance he deserves. to say he's not worthy of being given a chance is an opinion. thats a fact.
(con't.) who played QB in college, then converted to other positions when they got to the NFL, and were successful. Why, somebody PLEASE, tell me why Tebow should should any exception? If he tried what he did last season, this season, and was unsuccessful, what would you're excuse be then? Blame the offensive line, the offensive coordinator, the head coach? Everybody EXCEPT the man in the position, because in many of your eyes, he can do no wrong. COME OFF IT!!!!
The Jets comments on Tebow are a reflection of the organization starting from the team owner (signing him for the wrong reasons), the coach ( using him for the wrong reasons) to the players and it's "leadership" ( insulting him for no reason at all). Classless organization, and will remain so until 90% of it's current personnel is replaced. Tebow has always conducted himself with class, and only fitting he is welcomed by a first class organization like the Pats- starting with Kraft!
The thugs in the NFL can't stand Tebow, he represents descent people and they can't stand it. Baltimore puts up a statue of Lewis, a man involved in a double murder (pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice), bought off the families of the victims. What an example for Children? Tebow is a breath of fresh air, he will do well whatever he does. I hope he goes to the CFL.
These comments are crap. He had 6 plays all season. He was lied to from the beginning and to start McElroy playing ahead of him was garbage. I will never root for the Jets again. I hope Ryan is fired before the season is over in 2013. Tebow had nothing to do with the Jets losing in 2012. We will never know how Tebow would have done as he was never given the chance to play - when you look at the class of 2012 quarterbacks - especially RGIII he is hurt because he didn't stand in the pocket.
Last year the worst record was 7-9. The division was competitive, plenty so for a MEDIOCRE broncos team. The defense allowed in 5 games 40+ pts, and in 5 others 28. And allowed the vikings 3-13 team without AP 32. 11 games is more than half they played, >50%, they sucked. As much as did the special teams and offense. This year the worst record in the west was 2-14, and the raiders and chargers were garbage. THIS year they were the worst division, not last year.
I don't think sanchez had any room to grow. I mean he didn't improve really coming year from year even though he was the only qb of the jets as he had no real competition for the job. 12 td's to 20 int's his first season, 12 td's through the air in 16 games...not even averaging one per game. The following year he seemed better, but if you watched the game's he could have easily had 5 more int's more at LEAST. Many of those were dropped. He was avg at best
Tebow was treated like shit. Didnt deserve it
He’s got the Lord

They're current QB's are awful, and they never gave Tim a chance for more than a 3rd down play where he was in a crappy situation thanks to the crappy team. I am happy whenever the Jets lose because of how they treated a good man like Tim.
I completely agree, how could they say that for a man like Tim Tebow??
you ignorant piece of dog shit.. how are they lackluster and irrelevant when they made it to the afc championship twice in the last 4 years. tebow was a terrible qb and always was
***** the jets suck like there coach and they will always suck dud find another team they suck suck suck suck
Sanchez was doing just fine before Tebow came
@@Drjones_ bruh u really replied to a 6 year old comment
Personally I'm no tebow fan but he deserves the position more than mark buttfumble
The only reasons why some people love Tebow are because he's religious and a good-looking guy, two things that mean exactly jack shit in the NFL.
sanchez getting started over tebow was the worst decision ever made
Tebow is not terrible very far from it
Toxic behavior, not worth Tebow’s Time!
“For God so hated the New York Jets, He gave them Tim Tebow.” 😂
Career 48% competion % in an era where 60% is on the low end and borderline unplayable. He was an atrocious QB at best.
@@edman813 Both those guys you mentioned have a higher completion %. Tim was the worst throwing QB I've ever seen.
Tim Tebow is still the man! He was with the Gators, and he definitely was with the Broncos, in my opinion no other team really gave him that much of a shot and he's still being canned by the league.
The Jets and the Broncos could only imagine having a QB and a leader as good as Tebow.
Tebow sucks, he couldn't even take Mark Sanchez job. Couldn't even be a backups backup
@@FLK-BC he never got the opportunity to. No one ever gave him a chance to stfu dumbass
He was a Heisman Trophy winner! Seriously, does he really suck at being a quarterback?
K. Popper Guess who else is a Heisman Trophy winner.
Johnny Manziel
Would you rather have a chance at winning or no chance at winning that was the dumbest thing I have ever heard.
And they say f****** Kaepernick got blacklisted! Smh!
fish Fischer Tebow wasn’t even fucking good
I'm not a coach, but who the FUCK would start butt fumble before Tebow, even if he isn't playing well.
+Benjamin NewDuval but Sanchez was past his prime...
That happened the year Tebow was there.
Sanchez was old then, but he has actual qb skills. Tim doesnt.
tyruss10 Sanchez was 26!
Its sad how poke define the guy for one play, vs the gut who has no throwing mechanics whatsoever
Rex Ryan is unethical, should be fired. How does he get up in th morning and look in the mirror for what he did to Tebow. He is the devil.
***** They never gave Tim the chance to play badly! The only time they put him in was on 3rd downs where they had bad position thanks to the crappy quarterback and offense they gave a million chances to!
They gave him full drives to do something! He was garbage. Waste of time.
islandblader you and all this haters only say that because he prays on the field. That's why you hate him, because you're evil
So explain why no one hates on Russel Wilson for his faith.
Leslie Duncan L
Stats are nice, but wins are more telling.
Tebow could win. His style of play allowed the Broncos defense to be more rested.
Mister 10Point24 awwww, did tebow come back on your weak ass team?
General Callous That's if the Colts could "catch" him. They don't even have a defense, I'm sure Tebow would have above 80% completion against them.
Don't hate on Tebow Time, you know you're jealous of it :)
You're opinion, poor you getting so jealous you're getting mad, how cute. :)
Tebow not given chance because he is outspoken god-fearing Christian
God spelled backwards is dog, ponder that if you must🤔
Sanchez throws at 55% completion, which is mediocre.
Sanchez "If anyone knows how he feels, it's me" Yeah you're awful too.
Football is his day job. Whether he wins or loses is unimportant. God's rewards are not based on our popularity, our "successes," or our portfolios. "Well done thou good and faithful servant" comes to those who live their lives in light of eternity, rather than focusing on this brief time on earth.
He's better than Sanchez. I don't get why people don't think he can play when he brought the Broncos to the playoffs in his rookie season.
Dude I need to get to a Jags game this Fall, from Wisconsin.
HMMMFFF!!
Rex Ryan would have never let Tebow play over Sanchez in fear of Tebow being better than Sanchez especially Sanchez being Rex Ryan's boy.
I agree Daniel S.
Barely pass at a college level? Is that what you call a Heisman and two national championships?
The Florida Gaytors slept their way to the top. Those college football commissioners made sure they would win, 😉
Tebow was never a good QB. He sucked and I'm glad he's out of the league for good.
Anonymus: Couldn't say it to his face
Most of those Jets players sucked ass, who the hell are they to talk.
What's really terrible is that their is someone in the Jets locker room makes gutless comments about his teammate. He should remove his panties, man-up and stop hiding.
Talk about it!!
the Junks instead of pointing the finger on Tim.They need to look at themselves.
2.....and this is a 3-6 team, which means that so many OTHER guys aren't doing THEIR JOBS as they are supposed to either.
Should have stayed in Denver! Miss you, Tebow!
Obvious that Mark Sanchez isn't working out.. Give him a chance and the Jets might actually go somewhere.
don't hate.. if you can't even play.
Same goes for the guy that said about the Jets having a Superbowl win too lol.
only a fool would say the panthers are currently worse than the jets. the panthers are right on the verge of being a winning team.
And now Jets fans want Tebow back. Sorry only one go around
Mister 10Point24 yes we do
We did? Right.....
Anonymous comments from so called teammates. I have no respect for people like that.
gotta feel bad for the guy, works his butt off and his teammates say such negative things, this is why they arent a good team.
He gets cut because of how he plays the game. The way he plays works, and he gets cut for it.
Someone here gets it.
They hated on him because he didn't play like the jets.... You know terrible
The Jets calling Tebow bad..... WTH?
