I know... can you even imagine planning a family vacation and being super excited for it, then the time finally comes and you're having a great time but then things suddenly turn horribly bad so fast. you see your family bring killed in front of you and it all happens SO quickly that you barely even have time to process what you're seeing. I can't even fathom the emotions running through denny and how absolutely petrified she must have felt.
I believe whilst talking to this family the killer had already decided he was somehow going to take the girl (we know what for) He had probably known through their long 2hr chat that day where the family were going to stay and in which direction they were going. He planned to kill her parents and take their daughter. He didn't expect her to drive off, but once he caught her he did what he'd planned to do and needed to bury her to hide any evidence of what he'd done, otherwise, he would only have needed to shoot and leave her body on the ground like he did with her parents. The robbery was just a bonus for him.
That's really no more likely than that he just planned to rob them. We have no idea whether she was raped at all, let alone that that was his primary motivation. You're just making that assumption because you find it more interesting.
@@patavinity1262 that doesn't make sense. This man was clearly an organized criminal, not a mere opportunist, because he put in the effort of befriending the family in broad daylight first in order to set up a trap for them later. However, if his motive was just to rob some tourists, he didn't need to kill them - they were probably only carrying enough to fund their vacation, and, without money, they would probably just cut their losses and leave town soon anyways. The only motive that makes sense is to kidnap the girl.
I fear that Denny is dead. She lost her mother, and the man thought he had taken the father's life as well. It would not surprise me if he killed her, too.
Yes, I feel disappearances are sometimes even worse than murder, because you never know exactly what happened to them or wether or not they are still alive somewhere. It’s such a helpless and terrible way to have to live through life, always wondering. So sad.
The motive for kidnapping Denny was so that the killer wouldn’t leave a witness to the shootings of her mother and stepfather as it wasn’t known that her stepfather had survived. Also, she was a young teenage girl . . .
Very true about motive for kidnapping and then most likely killing Denny, as well, but what motive did he have for any of it? Very strange case and incredibly sad.
I think the motive was most likely sexual and he killed the mother and her boyfriend to hide his identity, though he probably did not count on the boyfriend surviving.
I use to stop and help people out on the side of the road. Was always down to help someone. Even picked up a hick hicker once. A smelly old man. He was nice. But, can't be nice to people now stays. Watching too much true crime stories. This is a prime example why. Thankful that nothing bad happened. Be safe!
Back in the 60s and 70s hitchhiking was more common. Then in the 70s a 15 year old girl named Mary Vincent went hitchhiking and was picked up by a sexual predator. The guy chopped her arms off at the elbow and left her for dead. Miraculously, she made it to a highway naked with no arms. A motorist spotted her and called paramedics. This incident is probably why hitchhiking is no longer a common thing.
Emily Nicole : Yes exactly. A killer doesn`t "only" kill his victim (s), he`s devastating and shattering the lives of the family members as well. Therefore only DP for a monster like this.
I was sent over to your channel by Mollie Westbrook last month to help you reach 100k. I’m so happy to see you’ve reached your goal & I’ve also found another great channel to watch!!
I believe Denny died that night. Crime of opportunity. Aragon, with a large family to support, decided to rob the family. Whether he had designs on Denny, we'll never know, or what he did to her before he killed her. But she was a witness, so she had to go.
Ikr. I also believed he killed her later that night and buried her body somewhere. He didn't kill her right there, because he wanted to abuse her before. Such a sad and heartbreaking story. I can't even imagine what fear and agony she felt in her last hours. I truly wish her remained to be found, so she could finally rest in peace
That's so sad 😪 I absolutely love your channel and appreciate the thoughtful and respectful way you present all of these cases. You do such a wonderful job❤
Yes very amazing videos and you give quality info that you can. Anyway it's good to relive these cases to make people think if they have any info on the case to help families get closure
Nice to see you "back". Trauma like this cannot be imagined in our mind's eye, and seeing it for real can scar for life. Excellent presentation as always!
I don’t want to minimize the seriousness of the content, but you are one of THE best narrators. I love your voice in every way. The only other channel I feel so passionately about the narration is Leslie the Bird Nerd, a Canadian RUclipsr with a bird channel.
That channel has been the best thing ever since September Waking up every morning (especially in the rainy days) making coffee and listening to this great show👏👏
"An ambulance arrived on the scene about two hours later." TWO HOURS???!!!! Jeez Louise, I wouldn't want to be hanging by my thumbs waiting for those pricks to show up. Another example of excellence in public services in the good ole US of A.
It was way out in the middle of nowhere. Wide open spaces out there. You can be an hour from the nearest town, and two hours from the nearest ambulance.

I truly love this channel. The music & your voice makes it so much more interesting. This is a sad story, however. But because of stories like this is that I truly don’t care if anyone thinks I’m a b**ch, but I don’t stop to help anyone who’s broke down on the side of the road. So, sorry to anyone whom I’ve passed and not offer help to, this is why.
Sounds like something right out of a horror movie! Sadly Denny was probably killed pretty soon after he kidnapped her. If true, I hope she didn't suffer.
OMG, I remember this case. I seen a podcast or channel about Denny Sullivan on youtube. She was murdered in 1961 or close to that date. She was only 15 yrs old too, so tragic. I hate to see cases where girls are tortured, raped and / or killed by selfish traits RIP Denny dear...xoxoxoxo.
You NEED to cover the Alexander Family case from Spain. It was absolute madness. It is somewhat explored in Criminally Listed's "5 Cases of Consentual Murders" video.
This is horrific; she must've been beyond terrified!!! Poor Denny - and her poor parents. Charles survived the ordeal but what a life to have after being shot in the face and then waking to find your wife has been murdered and your daughter abducted.
Could you do a video about the Beckham family murders? They were killed in Missouri in 1863. While freed slaves where hung for the murders, some believe Union soldiers were responsible. I read about them in True Crime in the Civil War: Cases of Murder, Treason, Counterfeiting, Massacre, Plunder & Abuse by Tobin Buhk
You would think with the Authorities knowing about the crime & who did it, it might be easier to find Denny. Her dad was a fighter, that's for sure. 🙏💜❤
I live in Connecticut but had never heard this case before. It's such a tragic story. Interestingly, I went to college with someone with the last name "Boothroyd" from that area.
The true evil in this world has always perplexed me . I could never understand how anyone could destroy another living soul . I’m sure even in warfare men have been haunted over the actions they performed. Very sad story, God Bless them .
Poor girl. He no doubt took her and in his panic of what he'd done, he drove her somewhere, shot her, and buried her without a trace. I hope her stepfather was able to recover somewhat from being a witness to his wife's murder and stepchild's kidnapping, and her eventual murder. What a DEVASTATING crime to be the sole survivor of.
Personally, I believe his motive was purely money for his family. Being out of work, knowing the family was on vacation, naturaly they would have cash on them beyond what a normal person would have. He had to chase after the girl, so she would not make it to report the crime. Most likely, he did not sexually assault her, he just had to dispose of her. If she had gotten away, he would most likely have been apprehended and charged with murder and attempted murder and done considerable time. Her body is probably down a mineshaft where he frequently stayed...
This is such a dangerous and evil planet bc of people like him and I’m so glad I have a very strong and powerful gut instinct and am amazed that her mother and father didn’t sense anything about him. He had bad intentions the moment they met. God bless them

can we talk about how badass it was for her to literally get in the front seat and attempt to drive away?
Excellent quality narration as always, but very sad story😞
This one hit me hard too.
Indeed. 😞
Her voice has such relaxing quality to it
Poor Denny watched her mom get killed and presumably her step dad as far as she knew. Sad to say but he probably killed her and buried her somewhere.
@butters 1159 not funny smh
Her Dad was killed also

Mother's fiancé, not father. Just for accuracy's sake.
I def think she was killed!
Of course she was. If she didn't show up alive somewhere in the days or weeks afterward, it's quite obvious he killed her.
I think he abused the girl and then killed her, burying her somewhere in the desert. I wonder what became of the mother’s boyfriend.
