Finally found the right video, to show me to do it on my 03 civic 😱😭👍🏻
I'm bout to do the same.
@@OOTD_ super late but any update? Looking to lower my 03 civic soon also.
Thank's man I'm getting ready to do the same thing. This gave me some confidence!
Thank you for this very informative video. I am looking to lower my EP3 soon and will use this video for reference. Awesome!
That truck looks fire
I can't wait til l buy coil overs and do this I just got the same civic thanks for the video will help alot
How long did it take
Yessir..struts are a pain..
I have a 2004 Honda Civic that I'm going to lower and do a bunch of modifications too I can't make it fast but it will look good
I was thinking about doing this to a 2005. So you used truhart struts and skunk 2 springs? How does it sit and ride. Does the front sit a lil lower than the back? Let me know. Debating to do this set up or coilover. Rather this cause more affordable
Damn u good n the way u did that look very simple now I'm going to drop my civic hopefully I get it done too. Thanks man
Joseph Wilkins How are hard was taking the one bolt for the rears? How about taking the strut out and putting the new one in? I hear you might have to pry out the rear struts from it's slot.
Nice video bro it helps a lot, quick question is necessary to put that bump stop holder back (in the minute 14:16) it seems that the bump stop will go inside the holder and it will hit the base of the shock if bottoming out?
Oh okay . Im thinking about installing some new struts but just the front ones on my 04 civic. Do you think i would need a camber kit?
Hey what's those shocks u bought. Can't find link. I wanna lower my car a bit. 04 civic 1.7. Wanna follow your lower kit idea.
You think I should bust the tie rod ends loose first so everything will be more rigid when hitting with the fork tool? I'm going to try it this weekend.
That's funny how you put the nut back on.
I think my 2001 sportage manual actually says to take the nut off both sides, and then jack the car up in the middle. So it lowers the spring slowly. Then you can take your wheels off.
Hey bro i installed the skunk2 on my 02 civic coupe and it clunks when turning is like the speing moves or jumps but is sitting on bottom right and the top could it be the spring sitting bracket not slign or what can you tell me
Can you please tell me the size tires that you used for the car. I have that exact same year and I need/want new rims. I plan on getting stock size rims(15") but I'm contemplating the new tire size and I am going to do that exact same thing to my car with the lowering. Can you please give me the info so I can drop my car like that too? Thank you, Ronnie
Now that it's been a couple years, how has it been? Has it broken or given any problems? Anything else notable?
That truck is sick
Baddass video bro!
i'm slamming my integra this weekend and after watching this video it doesn't seem that hard.
you're amazing this video is the best way to know how my car stay. I've been looking like my best with low springs car would look . definitive 'll buy the same package for my civic . thanks man
Hey there, nice video. Is that all you need to do? do you need to adjust the camber or anything?
You should get alignment checked. The camber in the front stayed true. But the rear cambers alot. You will need to buy an adjustable upper arm to adjust it
I see that there is no rubber sleeves at the end of those coils! Did you get weird knocking noises while turning. ?
Great video man, this is really helpful, im planning on lowering my 02 civic throughout this month(new struts and springs) as well
Dayum, that truck u lowered is HELLA FLUSHED!
I wanted to mount the skunk2 and a friend told me that with these the low carriage further back than in front, is this wilderness?
I got the same springs, did they settle and end up being lower? I thought 2 inches would lower it more
Damn! That was fast man and it looks great!
Thanks for the video! It was extremely helpful!
What size rims are those ? Also how much lower did u make the car?
Those 1000 new so you got the best deal ever
hey dude,.. i have the same blue color 2003 civic, great job bro...chears
So how are they in terms of durability? Have they lasted since you installed them?
quick question, i have a 98 civic and i am about to install ny skunk2's today. is it necessary to cut two inches off the bushing? i need to know before i do it
Just a heads up, have someone else push down on the back rotors when you put the strut mount bolt in. It's a pain to get to line up by yourself. If you are absolutely by yourself push down on the rotor and stick a screw driver in the opposite hole. Then I used a garden rake as a pry bar and wrapped my legs around in and pulled down while I put the bolt in.
Does it bottom out on the rear or are those short struts for lowering springs?
Do you have the link where you bought them from?
Im running on cut springs and ohh man it sucks, i have a bumpy ride.
Links are in the description
Where did you get you 2inch drop coils, and how much did they cost you?
@s3r7h better than ever. It's a little stiffer but so much more stable and responsive
hello
why you cut the rear rubber stopper ?
this better with lower springs ?
can you update the link of strut and shocks you bought
Shouldn't you have put something under your axle to protect the ball joint once you separated the strut from the control arm/axle?
So I'm wondering if it would be a little easier or difficult being that it doesn't have the MacPherson suspension...
Whats the lowering springs brand and how is the ride
How do these ride with those struts and do you like the springs? I just got some for my civic
It's probably not much different
Did you need to worry about messing up the camber of the car? I've been thinking about lowering my 2014 civic si and everything I've read stresses that you could mess the whole thing up without a camber kit.
When i lowered this one all i had to do is get an alignment on the tow. the camber stayed perfect honestly only because i used stock strut replacements. But the camber kit is really easy to install
Okay, thanks for the tip!
U think if I have a 205/r55 16" riim that I would rub ? Idk if I will did u have to do camber kit
Were those lotek shock and springs and how was the ride smooth or bouncy?
The shock brand I really don't know. I got the whole set on eBay for $120. The springs are skunk2. The car rides stiff. No bouce at all. Very smooth too. Besides the stiffer springs lol
nice video my friend, good jod I have a honda civic 2001 and I Would like a little lower I Will do the same tan you made step by step sorry for my bad English.
Can you update the link where you got the spring and strut? plz
Bad ass video joe!!!
what brand was the lower kit & the struts?
What rims size and tires are those sir
Was it really difficult to put that rear lower bolt in? Mine is I have the 03 2dr.
dude mine was on the passenger side to look me like an hour to get in
How is that combination in spring/strut riding for you?
Does the Honda sit anymore lower now than it did when you recorded this video?
About a few months later it settled about another 1"
We traded it in about 3 months ago for a scion xb.
Great video for reference thank you!
Are those sensen struts...regulars ones or made for lowering springs
They are stock replacement struts
Will this process be the same for '93 Honda civic?
wow nice video you work quick.
Well I've been trying to lower my Honda Civic LX 2" front and back, but would there be any problems in the future if I put new lowering springs on the stock shocks? Will my shocks go out on me faster? If anyone can give me any ad ice that would be great thanks.
I have seen in many cases when someone lowers a vehicle on stock shocks. They will blow out in a matter of days. Our shocks where already out so I changed them anyhow. My wife's previous car I lowered and they shocks didn't make it a day.
Before u take the strut loose pop the nut off the strut first that way the spring will pop in the wheel well instead of taking your arm off
Very welcome sir. Glad I could help
Will lowering springs and stock struts wear out the suspension faster?
Nope. Works perfect on ours and still works perfect
Same basic principle. But those are much different. They don't have the macpherson front suspension
you make this look easy lol
I put my lowering spring in today front looks really good but back is a 3 finger gap should have drop 1.75 y is it so high
Hmm. I didn't have that problem. They may have to set in. Take it down a bumpy road at a high rate of speed. Best advice I could give
would it be unwise to use stock struts with lowering springs? would it be a lot bouncier than normal also
As long as they aren't gas shocks or struts
Joseph Wilkins going to see if I can find out but what would you say a 01 accord has
Not sure. Mine were not gas shocks stock. So I don't really think they used gas ones on hondas
Thanks for making this video you got a like from me
also how long will these struts last you?
how long did you back tires last from the camber?
The old back tires were already wore out. They lasted the rest of the year. Blew one about 2 months ago. So since we replaced them they aren't wearing out as fast. They still look new under there lol
how did u get tie rod out mine is stuck trying to use ball joint remover and hammer still won't move
I just take rubber mallet and keep smacking the arm on the strut and it should pop out.
Great vid, but would u be able to still tell me the size of the tools being used, u skipped that please, and thanks once again great vid ... K.I.G
What size tire is that I have a 205/r16 I don't now if my tires would rub
Hmmm good question. I know one was an impact and the other was a balljoint remover. Not really good at tool names lol. But I know what they do
After doing it and putting it all together I really don't see the need in doing it lol. All those are for is to not bottom out. But I think the springs would fully collapse before hitting those bushings
Great vid !!
OH YES!! Lol. I have a bagged and bodie Mazda on 20s BELIEVE me I know, I want it this low so I can actually drive it on these Arkansas roads lol
@xxyoloxx1 skunk2 and its much stiffer than stock. But much more stable
What tool was it did you use to remove your tie rod
I call it a pickle fork. I have one that's pneumatic and another you use with a hammer
@xxyoloxx1 very welcome
Hey man i want fo lower my 05 acord how much do they charge . I dont want to get riped off
Lower it yourself dude
Pretty much how my strut was on my civic, it was focked. Push it all the way in and it bubbled and hissed, and stayed put in.
Who else got anxiety watching him take the nut off the old strut 😂
Thanks bud I'll look into it and let you know ...
Welcome sir
super man,thank you so mach
Sweet. Thanks
does rims are 17 inches?
What size wheel and tire are you running. Im trying to do the same with a 17x8
They are 17x7 with a 215/45/17
Did you get any rubbing on turns, dips, or speed bumps
Jaime Ruiz never did.
Cool thanks alot. Nice truck
much appreciated, thanks man
Much easier I do believe
Whoa, I thought that spring was going to take off your hand!
How can I remove the tie rod bolt with that to you have?
I had to end up using a tie rod remover with a big hammer.
What is the advantage of lowering?
it looks cool
@92dmartinez yep
What size rims
Can I do skunk2 on my 205/55
thats alittle thick, but i think you may could if the rims offset was higher
How low is the drop?
30mm?
35mm?
40mm?
It's 2.25" front and 2" rear. That's about 57mm and 50mm. The car in this video initially sat pretty low for stock due to blown struts/shocks.
Great video and you're quite funny too. :)
what the struts for ??
