The trail has changed my game. I just hit my 7 month mark playing and shot my first 1000 rated round today using the Trail off 12 of 18 tee pads. I'm a noodle arm that maxes around 330, but the Trail holds my lines SOOO much longer than any of my other drivers, with a tiny bit of fade at the end on my lower shots that can result in some insane distance with or without good ground play. I ordered 3 more when I got home from the course. Do yourself a favor and grab one if you're throwing under 350.
As a day 1 era enjoyer I recommend that disc to everyone stuck in the 250 full flight division, it's crazy to see how many people haven't touched that speed of disc before

Only 10 speed I’ve throw is the vulture I do believe but I felt the trail when I went to pick up the total eclipse hex and they felt amazing
There are a ton of discs to choose from in the control driver category. I've got a Wraith, Grace, Scorch, Valkyrie. They are pretty similar, so it's all about the hand feel. One thing I do like about MVPs discs is the overmold rim is super durable, so if you smack trees, I think the flight doesn't change as much. Except fission seems to beat in crazy fast.
As an old fart with a bad back and a noodle arm (320ish max)... Signal neutron 169, 158 fission Crave or Rhythm, and a 160 ish neutron insanity or Impulse is my jam. But great video brotha!

It's cool, Brod...I saw some other youtube frolf golf content creator compared the Trail to the Gorgon. He was impressed at the dead straight 340 flight with slight fade to the left at the end.

I found the Era in a used bin. Looked like someone tossed it once, didn’t like it, and I thank them. Most reliable forehand disc out there for crazy distance.
Old MVP Proton Octanes were super domey and flippy. Fission Time-Lapse is really nice too.

im new to frisbee golf.. my backhand sucks and my forehand is ok straight and like 250ish... trying to find a good forehand thrower to steal his form from... like a week or two ago i started to throw mine like yours... started to throw more consistent shots with your forearm form.. distance is still only like 250ish but not chasing frisbees left and right anymore for the most part.. using a MVP Trail now for a few days.. i will work on backhand sooner or later..

Similar skill level. I can hit 300 ft but not consistently. I've noticed I can throw further with my backhand now too. Might be from learning to be more explosive because my backhand form still sucks lol
i bag an insanity and a wave in that kind of category. but i guess i ll get a trail as soon its available in europe

Thank you for talking about the dome. The player signature line pro drivers can have more dome and larger rim depths than the early drivers made by MVP. Having smaller hands than male pro players I prefer the flatter and lower profile discs.

I used to bag a lot of MVP/AXIOM but I agree they do lack in their distance drivers. Mid and putters you have great options.

Used to throw a Lat64 Musket that I had some of my greatest throws with. I beat it to where I could get it to hold turn, flip a little, and hold a hyzer. It went basically as far as my 12 speeds but was more controllable.

In the late 90's and early 00's i was loving the Z XS and the champion Beast. They taught me about flex shots. I 100% agree with Brod on this one.
The time-lapse in neutron and the fission are both substantially different flights. Fission is way more domey and flippy than the neutron version. Neutron is very overstable and not as domey and dumps if you don’t have the arm speed…. I got lucky with my trail and it’s actually quite domey, flies like a 10spd version of the crave for me….
I think the vanish is underrated. I know it's an 11 speed. But for someone with 11 months of playing I can shot shape with it and get decent distance for a noodle armed 40 year old. There's a couple sneaky good distance drivers from the MVP family
I’ve been using the Lat 64 sapphire for a while and it’s the perfect version of this disc for people who throw less than like 360-380. It’s lightweight so it goes very far

TD is definitely in the same stability as the trail but I don’t think it’ll go as far 🤝
As the local noodle in my area, the kastaplast lots has been the disc in this slot for me lately.
My beat-in Champ Valk is that guy. It started out pretty stable and now it’s a laser.

If you do go based on numbers though, wouldn’t a grace or trace match better to the trail??
I personally don’t think so. Those both being 11 speeds and more OS than the trail. You could definitely argue that overall they are similar. I just think 11-12 speeds are more similar and 9-10 speeds are more similar. I’d call the trail a slower beat up grace🤷🏽♂️ that being said depending on arm speed I could see a lot of playing getting almost identical flights out of the grace and trail if they only throw 350 max distance. My experience with the trace has been that they are waaay more OS than the trail.
I agree. Most newer or lower arm speed golfers could even go down to a 7 speed to get the best consistent distance. It’s all about consistent flights and distance. Not those outlier throws where a high speed disc somehow goes way further once in a blue moon. I throw about the same distance as Brodric and I get about the same distance most of the time out of a 9 speed disc that I need to go straight or finish to the right for right handed backhanded thrower. A lot of times I only use a high speed distance driver if I need distance without the possibility of a flip up or the disc has to finish far to left with some distance.

I still find myself going to the ERA more than any other disc off the tee. They are just a little inconsistent… got a couple glow ones i hope to hold their stability a little longer.
Era definitely very depending on color and plastics but the good ones are GOOD
@@broderic I've got a nice yellow one that is border-line but not too flippy. The glows are little more stable but hope they beat in and stay there. Once the yellow one is beat it will eventually play the gorgon flippy bomber/roller role. There is something about that mold that I can just snap.

I've been kinda hurting myself with my forehand lately. Sometimes too much disc golf isn't good.

You have me curious of the Trail, but nothing will ever replace my Heats.
I’d say much more stable and goes further than the heat if you are around 400+ if under 400 the heat might have more distance🤝

Insanity, like the trail. Wave, like the trail. Both great. Trail is awes9me but other discs already like it from mvp.
I think the wave and insanity are both significantly more understable than the trail. But definitely in the same category, just depends on arm speed i suppose🤝
@broderic sure does. Like all discs. I throw 350ft and the wave (I own 5) never turns unless headwind or I put it on anhyzer. Never seen one have significant turn at my level. Insanity has slight turn but is the straightest disc at 9spd I've ever thrown. I think for most ams the wave and trail are identical

I love my Insanity!! 9 speed is the fastest I will throw for distance.
Fission Wave is an effortless extra 30ft, minimum.
I was going to comment that the Insanity is another MVP (Axiom) disc that fits this class of disc.
Innova star Beast has been money for decades.

I don't know I think some people's got a natural genetic ability to produce arm speed. Kind of like a natural hard puncher. I started off with 12 speeds and now my favorite is 14 speed 5 Glide -1.5 2.

Is it a longer relay. I Kno you had a stock relay like mine not that turtle lightweight BS. Looks like the trail was Skippy my relay isn't.
I've always bagged a dx thunderbird but can never find a premium disc to fly like it. My relay flys identical but 40ft shorter. I thow on max hyzer like you
@@JoshJackson13 I’d say more stable than a relay. You should try to find an older pro thunderbird. The flat ones are money. Very straight
@@brodericyeah I've seen a couple at play it again sports but scared to buy a used Flippy disc if it ain't brand new looking. The new pro plastic is stiff and domey. New Pro destroyers low key fire on backhand. I'll just keep cycling dx thunderbirds I've had like 10. Last about 3 months. Max weight orange ones are best
@@brodericnew swirly rim insanity are close just don't quite have the flight I want. I want the disc to drift flat when it turns not change angles. The wind eats it up when changes angle. Those era's were money

@@broderic when i first watched this on mobile i had a really hard time tracking the midflight of the discs. granted my phone is on the smaller side (pixel 6a green bubble trash) but yeah i couldnt really tell much of a difference visually. if i had to suggest something i think faster zoomage or starting out slightly more zoomed could help but idk what im talking about when it comes to video editing. i will say i went back and watched on desktop and it was totally fine so maybe im an outlier. just my 2 cents. look forward to every upload 🤝

This field/park is nice to film at but with all the open sky sometimes it’s hard to follow the disc. I’ll definitely take a different approach next time I film here. Also probably didn’t help that the discs where white and green🤝
