  • Recorded in half an hour, low quality, but it's better than nothing
    Assumes that you know how to use the program but if you have any questions please head to the Open UTAU Wiki page here: github.com/sta...
    Or feel free to comment under this video, I will see it and help you (if it's a genuine problem that can't be solved by reading the wiki)
    I will reiterate that I sound a lot more angry than I actually am... I think it's just a side effect of rushing to record in limited time.

    Tokumei MERGE: tll555.wixsite...
    Bonus thanks to Cillia/Kyaami for being so open like 2 years ago when I emailed you lol

    As an Utau user that wants to convert to openutau I’m so grateful for any good tutorial like this that is out, I didn’t know that openutau has so much abilities and is fast and responsive, because I have been told otherwise, and I have been told that it isn’t made to be able to deal with flags without plug ins. Regardless to that I’m so happy and grateful, because there are no tutorials about openutau which is legit sad, and I don’t even know how this software got the grand amount of audience that it has; when there are no tutorials to teach about it. I would understand if it was as intuitive as vocaloid.

      i just made another tutorial explaining how to use open utau in more detail, if you're interested- just letting you know because it seems like a good fit for what you're looking for (better than this one lol)

    Wow! There's a bunch of things I learned here! I am a bit of a noob to tuning regarding anything more than pitchbends so this is really helpful. I sometimes forget that UTAU itself is really old compared to modern vocal synths so I never get exposed to those modern features those synths have. Cheers!

    Also dunno if you know but you have like a full minute of blackness at the end of the vid KEKW

    8:40 About this part here, the only problem with Moresampler's A flag is that it also affects the whole note, not just the vibrato, but also the pitch bend edits, an easy alternative to have that dynamic vibrato which I love to call, is using the dynamics parameter and manually add the shape of that vibrato that you've placed. This might be a little annoying to do sometimes but I guarantee you that it's worth the effort~
    9:39 also in this part, In making cresendo's or dynamics in general, (basically it is like a technique where the voice or any instruments starting off as soft and going loud.) I really recommend dynamics parameter because it sounds a lot more smoother compared to using velocity to every single notes.
    I really like this tutorial btw I just love adding some unnecessary things.

      Oh for sure I agree with you, i think i didn’t mention those methods just because the DYN curve doesnt work with standard resamplers/wavtools- i THINK. I might be totally and utterly wrong about that! In any case this comment is really well written and very true i just kind of forgot to mention curve tuning lmaoo

    this is a good tutorial!! im gonna implement some of this stuff in my next work. i do have a question though- i was wondering just how exactly to set up flags/expressions? i can’t find any tutorials for the life of me, and every time i try to apply a growl to one note using moresampler flags, the whole ust starts growling 😭 please help.
    i’d switch to normal utau for songs where i need growl flags but i cannot navigate it at all.

      @@123happily no, it’s all good! i was just putting numbers in the expression, so it was growling all the time. read the wiki and it clarified you shouldn’t input number values. i love your tuning btw.

    Hello, can you do a tutorial on how to create and apply subtitle effects in Aegisub beyound standard tags (color, fade, pos..), I tried it but I am not familiar with the app too much, I've watched couple tutorial in Enlgish but it didn't explain well what is going on (ruclips.net/p/PLqazFFzUAPc7BgGTaDAvvsGEoLolq09YP)
    Other tutorial are not in english,:

      unfortunately i only use the tags that are compatible with youtube- i haven't really touched anything else! I'm sorry about that
      there's a full list of tags linked in the description that describes how it works with examples, i hope that can help! i dont know any videos about it though :(

    Hi sorry to bother ! I was wondering how you got the options like falsetto, soft, and solid on your CLR expression? Mine is just completely blank, and I can't edit the flags on it... I'm using the same bank as in this video, the MERGE bank. Is it possibly a resampler issue? I'm sort of new to the technical stuff :,)

    • @123happily
      @123happily  Год назад +1

      oh no worries!
      I explained it in my next tutorial (albeit not very well), its something you have to set up yourself ;-;
      you can go to singers > tokumei merge > edit subbanks and add new ones there
      if you know anything about presamp, its basically having multiple maps.
      if that's nonsense (lol) tokumei's readme file actually has a table that breaks down what you should put in
      if its still giving you strife, there is probably a clearer tutorial on the open utau wiki (!) or let me know and I can pass my tokumei character.yaml to you so that you can skip the hassle/use it as an example!

    I don’t have a computer, but one question I do have abt OU is that, once your done with the song, do you have to export it to a DAW and make the music for the vocals, or does the app act as a DAW itself?

    • @123happily
      @123happily  Год назад

      its probably a better analogy that the app is a VST, since it's only job is producing vocals. It does render them inside the app yes
      most people then export them to a DAW for mixing but its not strictly necessary
