This is supreme playing of a masterpiece in music. The music of the chaconne, the superbly crafted guitar by Ross Gutmeier and the sublime interpretation by this guitarist come together in this short presentation video to give us a rare and priceless gem in the world of art.
I had the pleasure of hearing Mr. Pakhomkin play with the Chamber Orchestra of New York at Carnegie Hall. He is a true master. Superb musicianship! His sensitivity to the music was absolutely sublime!
Just..wow. So clean, so precise..almost no string noise ...done with passion. Beautiful!! Congratulations . I will subscribe..thanks for your dedication and this post.
Thanks so much. I changed the way I play this piece in a lot of ways. It's time to post a new performance. I think this piece should be revisited at least once a year. What an etude and masterpiece!
Thanks for listening. I'm glad this performance made an impact on you. I'm one of those people that has trouble listening to my own recordings. I just have to let go and realize that it's just a snapshot of what I could do in that moment. It's uplifting to see that a recording can reach someone in a far away place. All the best to you.
I really appreciate that. It's a long process to determine the tempo for each section that speaks to me and allows me to just let go when I'm playing. This is a piece that I'm working on forever and it actually sounds very different today than when I made this recording.
Dieter, I loved reading your comment! It's nice to see people are actually watching classical music videos like this. Your support will give me a great boost to make more RUclips content and recordings in 2022. It's a promise!
This is not "one OF the best I've ever heard.. blabla"... For my taste this is THE best version on guitar that I have heard so far. Absolute favorite. "Well done" would be an insult :D
Thanks. This is a guitar custom made for me by the great American luthier Ross Gutmeier. I have had the privilege of recording on and playing very many fine guitars. There is truly something remarkable about this particular guitar - it has become somewhat of an extension of my body.
If I may; this piece was written shortly after Mr.Bach had returned from a trip only to find that his wife had died and had already been buried. It is a piece of profound sadness. Energetic is not to be expected in the interpretation of this music. The playing is superb, refined, and expresses the dark passage in the life of Mr. Bach through which he was passing. The guitar is a masterpiece of craftsmanship it should be noted.
Maxim, this is my own transcription. I'm working out a publishing deal that works well for me so this edition of the Chaconne may very well be out soon. Thanks.
Es ist mir(90)eine große Freude, diese Musik so rein und klar zu hören,

One of the nicest versions of the Chaconne on classical guitar that I've heard!
totally agree
Me too
Thank you so much. I only read your comment just now. 4 years later, it's still great to see that this performance reached someone.
What did I just watch! :O Simply incredible
Unhurried and precise. A terrific performance.
Unhurried is the key. Still with great dynamic, and as you say, extreme precision. No rushing through the 32ths in panic as Segovia does. Wonderful.

Great performance!

Unbelieveable well tempered in tempi, rhythm and modulation. The concentration of the artist is like directly playing from god inside. :)

real bach
YES! This is how this piece is played! So many slow versions on youtube... This is meant to be energetic not romantic.

Gracias! Buenos Aires is beautiful. I hope to travel and play there soon. How is the classical music and/or guitar scene there?
@@PiotrPakhomkin I am not sure nowadays (I'm living in Spain since the last 20 years)

Too much coffee that day maybe? :)
Sometimes in profile he resembles Prince.
Hey, that's not bad! I'll take that. Cheers. -Piotr
