Disney has made daycare centers paint their walls when they made unlicensed Disney character murals. They should really enforce that standard here in Times Square. I live in Orlando and go to Disney often. I’m going to find out if what they’re doing is legal. They’re playing characters that belong to a company, this can’t be legal.
This happened to me on my school trip to New York I wanted a picture with the minions and Elmo jumped into the shot which I didn't want so me and my mom had to pay all three of them (two minions and an unwanted Elmo) over $5 each not to mention when I later looked at the picture one of the minions hands was practically in my purse which luckily was zipped up at the time and nothing was found to be missing

Who falls for these kinds of things? In Buenos Aires we have a very pragmatic way of avoiding scams on the street; we don't try to read much into it, we just say "no, thanks'' to EVERYTHING.
I once got on a raft that was supposed to take me and my ex to a waterfall in a jungle. Agreed upon the price before hand and off we went. There was never an opportunity to get off while on the raft and we couldn't even see any waterfall anywhere on the ride. When we came back from what was basically a ride in a swamp he wanted twice the amount. Apparently the money we agreed upon was for one way only. Laughing in his face when he asked for more money was without question the best thing about that vacation
There is another scam that I fell for. So when you see a group of costume people and you take a photo with one of them, most of the others will join you without permission and they would ask for money. This happened to me and there was 10 costume people that I had to pay. I didn't pay for all of them, I just paid for one photo and left.
When I was in times square, 2 Girls aproach me and tell me they need My opinion for a social experiment or something like that, I said No Maybe later, They said Please Please.. and after that I tell them ok, So I followed them as they told me to a Building that near 4 minute away from time square, after that they took me to a room with no light, I was scared...the girls tell me don't be scare you have to watch a trailer of a story about 6 minute... after that I have done that, and asked to leave... after that they force me to buy a book related to the story i watch, I said no i'm not intersted in that book i'm not gonna buy it and if you don't let me leave I will call the cops. When I was in Times Square, a man was offering my sister a mixtape. She said sure, ok, but then my dad said “don’t take it, it’s a scam, and it’s overpriced for what it is” then the man proceeded to say my dad is racist, as he denied buying something? 🤷🏽♀️

They did this to me ONCE and I have them $5 to split. They didn't like that. The others who tried to pull it again with me found out the hard way if you scam me, you walk away without. I know my way around NYC and was staying with friends who literally have a front door on Times Square. Those doormen pretty much told them they're shit out of luck and if they tried to harass me and scam again, they'd find themselves in more trouble than just a few quid short of a photo.

Ashley Molloy I assume you've never been to a convention then. Sometimes they can be really well made. Predator's old yet a few years ago I got a pic of a really nice cosplay.
Of someone hands you something, or takes a pic with you without claiming a price, it’s free. Plain and simple.’the only reason these guys still go out there and do this is because there are suckers who actually give in and pay them. When everyone grows balls and tells them to piss off and / or give them a small tip instead of the outrageous price they ask for, they’ll stop.

If they are asking to take a photo with you don’t let them unless you want to pay, I didn’t pay him any money because he was the one asking to take a photo with me
I took a picture with one and they said it was 5 dollars I asked if they had change for a 20, they said yes, so I gave them my bill and then they ran away
I'm picturing a fat Sonic running away
why didnt you trip them in that big costume
I would just walk away if another character jumped into the shot:
FYI for all the tourists out their if your in American the emergency number is 911 and even if your phone has no service you can still dial it in most cases.
What if I ran around Times Square in a T. rex suit?
If I was in New York I would dress up on my T rex costume and take pics with people for free just to piss them off
Just run they can't run in that shit
i remember when i went Hello Kitty and Elmo were there they didn't ask for money up front we were just goofin around. asked for money and i walked off.
I would go into my wallet and pull a middle finger for the character and his friend
Careful, they might attack you for that.
@@princessmarlena1359imagine getting jumped by fucking huggy wuggy
@@princessmarlena1359dont let them know your next move: THE BALLS
Or just run
What if you take a picture or selfie from a distance without talking to them?
Stranger clever
The batman impersonator will come after you.
@@RocksJeffrey I've seen there a video of batman going off on a bystander
We did this but when they asked for cash my family just ran away lmao
Lol
Someone should prank them and take a picture with them but then ask them for money because they took a picture with you lmao
when ever I hit time square I just tell my girl to record me with all the characters. so I'll yell there name they turn and I pose and go to the next one without paying. they don't get mad since we live in new the city and get away with this shit all the time lol
Final Boss smart.
Final Boss Smart
Why ask "How much?" Just leave the scene
whosAire they are known to gang up on people and pressure payment. RUclips search more videos
They run after you if you try to run
Wow I can't believe you got a picture with Spongebill.
They did this to my family in Rome
Why pay ten dollars to take a picture with guys in bootleg Disney costumes when you can take one with the official ones at Disneyland for free?
Disney has made daycare centers paint their walls when they made unlicensed Disney character murals. They should really enforce that standard here in Times Square. Having thugs walk around in a Mickey costume, lifting the mask every two seconds, freaking kids out... that's NOT free advertising for Disney.
Last year this happen to me and my fiance. They straight up offer to take a picture without never saying they cost anything. once the picture was done, a bunch of them surrounded me and my girl and said i owe them 10 dollars each. i straight up told them they crazy and deleted the photo. later that day, another try to walk towards me and my fiance when we started to take pictures and i told him straight up, naw you ain't getting no money from me. you just got to stand up for yourself.
You can take a picture of anyone or thing you want in public and there's nothing legal they can do about it. Tell them to get lost.
I live in Orlando and go to Disney often. I’m going to find out if what they’re doing is legal. They’re playing characters that belong to a company, this can’t be legal.
Yeah I think it’s illegal because they aren’t licensed costumes
Guy reminded me of Patrick how much $5 all I got is $7 deal!
i got scammed last year by the micky mouse crew. they wont say u have to pay until after you took the picture
they told me that it there was no cost involved, but later demanded $20
You dont have to pay, just walk away.
Go to a convention and take as many pictures with characters as you want for free.
Maybe give them some fake money....
When I was a kid they litterly grabbed me and forced me to take a pic

@Frightening Monsters Yeah, you're right
These types of mooks also prey on you on Hollywood Boulevard. Watch out for the guys that also try to sell their mixtape. Annoying af
Richierich204 or it's not actually their mixtape and actually ransomware...
Jacob Osborne you've been watching way too much mr. Robot
Kazuhira Miller lol no, I've just been to Vegas.
Richierich204 Saw them myself when I was there.
Ya I fell for the mixtape.. Put it in my rental car said unable to read disk lol
You're literally paying for a photo bomb.
This happened to me on my school trip to New York I wanted a picture with the minions and Elmo jumped into the shot which I didn't want so me and my mom had to pay all three of them (two minions and an unwanted Elmo) over $5 each not to mention when I later looked at the picture one of the minions hands was practically in my purse which luckily was zipped up at the time and nothing was found to be missing
misa6811 I wouldn't have paid. People are too nice.
OurLove4Dance the characters swarm you and corner you in until you pay.
TheWoldIsFullofSheep EducateYourselfDontBeOne Believe me when I walk through there I go quick and don't get stuck. But if you get stuck as a tourist it's difficult. I've seen it.
Take it from someone who lives here: always walk away. You're not legally required to pay them!
who said you HAD to pay. HAD to? so you were that dumb to not know or were you just in a pressured situation where you were not strong enough at the time to say no and refuse for the reasons you felt it was wrong? weeeak!
There are people who do not deserve to wear these characters
They ask for too much money
There are also people who imagine and go without any attention to these people
Who falls for these kinds of things? In Buenos Aires we have a very pragmatic way of avoiding scams on the street; we don't try to read much into it, we just say "no, thanks'' to EVERYTHING.
Inexperienced tourists... and kids. Sometimes they go for the disabled too.
"The prostitutes are now cartoon characters"
*Careful with how you word that...*
I got scammed there in 2015 by Batman, Bane & Joker
Nahh he wanted to be payed in rings😂
When they do that I just say " oh you wanna take a picture with me?" And when they do I charge them $5 and theyre like no you pay me lol
I had this happen to me
I got a picture and lost around $5 - $10
It was actually me and my mam
It is a scam
if buzz cost 10$ ask sonic for 10$ also for taking a photo with you
There is another scam that I fell for.
PS: Sorry for my english.
When I was in Times Square, a man was offering my sister a mixtape. She said sure, ok, but then my dad said “don’t take it, it’s a scam, and it’s overpriced for what it is” then the man proceeded to say my dad is racist, as he denied buying something? 🤷🏽♀️
Once someone tried that scam on me and my sister and we took a pic then they asked for money so we ran 😂
My friend and I snapped a picture with an Eiffel tower guy when we were in high school on a school trip.... he posed with us and AFTER the picture was taken he rubbed his fingers together motioning for money.. we walked away cause we thought he was just asking for a tip we didnt know any better than to not be rude lol. Glad we got lucky and didnt get an asshole... we didnt have change on us just cards
just dont pay them...if they ask for $20 say you charge 30 to take picture with my kid
Lol just walk away
Charge the characters for taking a picture with YOU!
I fell for this as a kid and my mom was like “no no we didn’t even take the picture” and my dumbass was like “yes you did???”
The NYPD needs to crack down on these aggressive costumed characters as soon as
possible! Not everyone enjoys having their picture taken.
i never thought i would see sonic with a handbag full of money (probably) but here i am.
The confidence to jump in a photo when you only want one of the characters is something else.. scammers for sure.
“Elmo speak BAD English on children’s ‘Educational Show’!”
Dang, I just recently visited New York and saw all these guys in costumes at time square. Good thing my mom didn't make me pose with any of these guys.
This is actually very light compared the other scams showed on this channel
Stand behind them while they're not looking and take a picture. Then ask them for 2 bucks
When I was there Mario was like high five so I did then he’s like picture and my uncle yelled no so I ran
Lmaooo I mess with them every time I go to the city
If you don't like it then don't take the pictures and they wont force you, they won't ask you for money. It isn't a company paid job. Wearing those costume all day isn't easy
I would just say I don't have any cash, which often times is true.
this exact same thing happened to my brother
I hate this... mascots will pull ur kid take a pic and get mad cause you took a pic with out a tip
Hopefully one of these days they are gonna try and hustle a Disney legal team member.
Why would anyone want to take a picture with sonic and buzz lightgear, they're so old now
Ashley Molloy you must be a young person to say that
Ashley Molloy Pffft If that’s the case, then why do they still make sonic games??? Seems to me that you’re young. Go eat a tide pod or something.
Only costumes available xD
Ashley Molloy I assume you've never been to a convention then. Sometimes they can be really well made. Predator's old yet a few years ago I got a pic of a really nice cosplay.
More like bootlegs. Have you seen Elsa! It’s crazy ugly
I had a Minion grab my shoulder forcefully and I said “Fuck off you inbred Tic Tac” and they magically let go. I wasn’t in a good mood that day.
Why the hell would you want to take a picture with fake characters
Only tourists fall for such stupid stunt
