  • Over the past month I've been gathering up silage equipment so we can chop our own silage. I bought a John Deere 5400 Self-Propelled chopper, two rear-unloading Meyer wagons, John Deere 4-row converging head and a 12 foot Degleman dozer blade for the 4960. This is the first year we've chopped silage in 3 years and instead of paying someone to do it we decided we should do it ourselves. Overall I learned a lot and enjoyed chopping silage once again. As always enjoy! COMMENT, LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE!!

That's a nice one. Best thing about an older chopper is that you domt have to worry abput electronics shutting you down for a long time.

Is your 5400 supplied with a kernel processor and a metal detection? Curious to see more of this chopper!
