Another big problem with the Aegis is that after a couple of years of use, the lithium ion battery will no longer be able to hold a charge; that happens to all of them eventually, guaranteed. And since it's not removable, at that point the owner will have to throw away the whole device, as it will become useless since it cannot be powered. In contrast, since the Boblov replacement batteries can be purchased easily, the Boblov device will continue to function and still be usable forever even after its battery becomes permanently dead. That makes the Boblov product a vastly better value for consumers, since it has long-term survivability, but the Aegis does not.
Yes, They glow. You will only find no-glow IRs on cameras designed for wildlife viewing. Unfortunately, no-cameras generally have bad quality nighttime video.
as far as bob lov cameras go they have many different designs.. I have one with a removable SD card for memory... this one also records for 45 minutes without stopping... some bob lovs body cams will cut off and shut off after 15 minutes I had one that shut off after 5... Thats why I opted for the one with micro sd storage and longer run time becuase when I would constantly have to reach to my lapel and finger around with the buttons... which takes some time to get familar with... and you have buttons like the light button that you have to push 3 times to shut off when it is on and you get low/ bright/ flashing with an audible siren... distinguishing between the video reocord button and the camera button to take a picture with can be dificult as well... you might hear the audible shutter click when reaching for the video record button... and say to yourself shoot! wrong one thentry to find and press the record buttom and get the 3 different lights with a siren instead.... then finally press the vidoe record button and finally hear the audio beep that tells you that you are now recording video... to have to put up with this with a camera that shuts down completely after 5 minutes of recording is a real Pain.... Bob love has since stopped making that Painful model.. but they also supposedly have stopped making the one with the micro sd as well which was a great model because you could just remove the micro sd and set it aside when you have video that you need for evidence and swap in another one and you are ready to go immmediately... just like the removable battery... just swap it out and you are ready to go.. when you do swap out the micor sd you do not have to worry about over writing it or having to search and transfer the video file...
@@nothingbutgadgets I recently was doing a search on Amazon. I found that Boblov had a D7 2k which looks impressive and it supports external storage for micro SD from 32gb and @ 32gb that's 4hrs record time with 1296p/30fps and it supports up to s128gb micro SD @,1296p/3fpz that's 20 hrs Battery time is still only 6 to 8 hours.. It has a charging base. they have a suction cup bracket to make it hang on your windshield like a dash cam too.
@@robertbuck7186 Thanks for the great information. Is this the camera you are talking about #ad amzn.to/3eL5bVb The camera in this video is a model from three years ago. It appears they have made some upgrades since this model.
@@nothingbutgadgets Im also curious about the Axon cameras. Lots of used ones out there on ebay and they seem very durable. There isn't a lot of information about them out there. If you getting mugged you gonna be stood still facing the purp talking to try talk down the mugger and that is why stabilazation isnt all that important
Thank you for a great comparison, especially liked the night vision segment. I'd like to see more confrontation simulation events, such as you confronting someone, can we see there face, how is the audio, can you see a license plate as it drives at or away from you, etc. But to be honest I've watched a bunch of reviews and ALL of these models look terrible. I feel like its the same problem as the dash cams, 1 or 2 manufacturers just selling rebranded crap. Whats the best sub $1000 that actually is worth their salt.
Thanks. To try to answer your questions, I think that you are correct about a lot of companies rebranding the same product. However, Boblove products do appear to be unique to them, at least in appearance. All these products come from the same Chinese companies, though. If you go on Alibaba, you can order directly from these factories. They have standard products you can order in bulk, or they offer customization services that allow you to customize any product to your specs. So while they are made by the same factory, they are made to different specs. Either of these cameras is gonna meet the basic needs of capturing an in-person encounter day or night. However, you have to have reasonable expectations. Neither of them is going to capture national geographic quality footage, but that is not their purpose. The question that needs to be asked is, is the quality good enough for your purpose? Of course, this question can only be answered by each person themselves. However, I think a lot of people ask the question of, "Is this the best camera on the market?" and that question is a slippery slope. A more reasonable question to ask is, "Is this a good enough camera for its price?" In my opinion, the answer to this last question is that either of these is worth their price. However, I would choose the Boblov for the sole reason that it has exchangeable batteries.
Does anyone know of a body cam that can 1. Save directly a recorded video into it's memory/ssd 2. Can connect to your phone to livestream through facebook?
Body cameras are generally used by professionals that have uniforms designed to have a body camera attached. These camera may not be the best choice for you.
there are a few magnetic chest mount options. Law Enforcement/Security personal use these. The beauty of the magnetic mounts is that you can use them on any clothing type.
I would not say that. Are they the best on the market? Absolutely not, but they also don't cost a thousand dollars either. You have to compare apples to apples, not oranges. Smartphone cameras take great pictures, but they cannot compete with a professional camera that costs thousands of dollars. Does this mean that they are crap? Of course not. You have to make fair comparisons, comparing products to other products in their same price range, not things that cost way more. BTW. I still use the Boblov to this day. The internal battery on the Agis went out last year, but it did last four over two years.

The Boblov has a very visible colorcast. Having a removable battery is a very nice feature.

Thank you for your great review. When these cameras are in night vision mode, do the ir lights give off any glow detectable by the naked eye?

could you let me know how long does it take for a full charge on Aegis 100 ? pls let me know
How long it takes charge depends on the charger source wattage. I would say 2 to 4 hours depending on the charger.
4 hours from 0% to full charge.
Are there no cameras that have a full IR nightvision lens instead of just the IR lights?.
I am not sure what you are asking here. All IR night vision cameras depend on IR light.
What is the boblov model shown on the video?
The model in this video is no longer made. They have upgraded it to 64GB and added an SD card slot.

How do you delete video
You have to connect them to a PC to delete videos.
What is the warranty of each product?
Usually around 1 year.
I see where the higher end units on Amazon state a 2 year warranty. Still waiting for a response from Boblov
You switched them. Is this a shell game?
?? What do you mean?

Sounds a little like Emeril from the cooking shows.

They are not really designed to be attached to a shirt. Yes you can clip them on to a breast pocket of a shirt, but they are heavy so they will sag.
