Great video, I have the s280 fitted to mine, when you open it up the car pulls like a train. Want to get mine back on the dyno to compare as I went from standard power to stage 3. I have fitted an lsd as well which has made a big difference.
That sounds good. Hard to imagine a fairly lightly modded (its really only bolt ons and a remap in reality, no internal upgrades) Fiesta being as quick as my old Skyline but power to weight would be similar.
Couple of months back in your ( fixing exhaust rattle vid ) you mentioned that you was thinking of making a “sports cat vs de-cat” Dyno comparison vid on your car. Is this still on the cards? As this would be really interesting to see what extra gains could be achieved by doing so. 👍
It's a pretty involved job. He didn't no. It's definitely possible if your handy with tools and understand engines but I didn't wanna be laying on my back in a driveway doing that when I had an offer to get it fitted by a wizard aha.
These things are to be expected of your pushing boost higher, bigger turbos and more power through a car designed for 200bhp :/ that's part of tuning people seem to forget.
@@CarRambles I agree, it's just via the forums and pages, its TRS tuned cars that seem to be going pop, along with Peron 2 pro which begs the question of what are they disabling etc to cause the trend people have seen.
@@turbocharged9906 Yep, tuner fads go round in circles, when i first got a fiesta it was all about AET and peron, then came pumapseed for a few months and now all i hear is TRS. Its all very boring now to me to be honest, everyone should just dont research and go with a company thats close by and has a good reputation. I went with revo because they keep out of all the drama and facebook posts, while having pretty solid package. But that was my choice
330 will. My S280 spools 3.5k+ revs. But it allows you to plant the power without a LSD. Second gear doesn't wheelspin, whereas stage 2, 2nd will wheelspin lower down due to the dramatic increase in torque
@@CarRambles well aren't both VR330 and S280 Hybrids? 3500tpm is fine. Im building a project with almost the same displacement as the fiesta st but it is not a fiesta. The Hybrid for my car are really bad. But thats how it is with unpopular cars. It seems like the hybrid for fiesta will fit on my car. My stock turbo reached full spool at 3500rpm and it was fine. I dont think my car can reach the same power as fiesta st do with those hybrids but i would say it will give 30-40 hp less on my car due to fiesta has newer technology. So if the s280 can give 380hp, on my car it would give 350hp. However my car is lighter and doesn't have as much drive train losses. So 350hp on my car would be equivalent to about 365hp on a fiesta.
They arnt hybrids. They are purpose build turbos. Things like the x47 from pumaspeed is a hybrid as its basically a bored out stock turbo with bigger turbines. If this is a project car and not an ST I would go s280 just for compatibility sake and tuning potential.
@@CarRambles yeah, as i have understood it VR330 the X47R and many hybrids give only about 330hp which is a good number but with the hp losses i will have i will probably only make 300-310hp but spool better. My engine is lazy on lower rpm that is why im looking for good spool. And those hybrid will probably fit better since they are a bit smaller. I called Turbo Technics and asked them about their turbos and asked them what they think about other fiesta hybrids. They told me that many of those hybrids are sent to them to get renovated as alot of them break down. Honestly if i can get 330hp on my engine im happy. My car only weighs 1.1 ton.

Awesome video, turbo sounds awesome I must say. In a small small way I like the pop and bangs as it isn’t too asbo, TRS ftw
nice review..car sounds amazing
Mine has exactly the same wrap but yellow instead of green

Yep just not in any rush :) gonna get an early mot first ;)
Did he install the turbo himself? I'm thinking of giving it a go but I'm a relative novice. What are your thoughts? I notice you didn't install yours.

I just did mine. It wasnt that difficult
What roads were you on? I'm in Cambridgeshire and I don't recognise it
Is off the A47
Does it feel similar to the RT330 Package?
It does but the map feels a little smoother :)
@@CarRambles Time to go TRS or Laird ;)
This recently blew the engine didnt it? Seems quite common on TRS tuned S280's.

Hopefully he will see this comment :)
MSW 25
Is it a left hand drive car
Just watched it a bit further thru vid.. So its how it was filmed 😁
Aha yeah right hand drive normal car ;)
what power level is it at?
Probably the same as most bigger turbo fiestas so between 320 and 340
What intake is on this?
SD V3
Anyone else with the s280 get a lot of turbo stutter noises?
I have the turbosmart dual port on mine and it sounds amazing tbh way more stututu then a gfb
