Into Polica since the first videos popped up at the current (hehe). There has been no other band since my teenage years which had so many songs which made me listen to them over and over and over again. I´m so glad they are still out there and will be thankful for every record coming out and I think it is very fair to do music on their own terms. It´s kinda how it should be. Great band. I just wanted to notice something here. I listened the first song on Spotify and it was not the same at all. I don't know why it seems so different. Either KEXP has greats sound engineers or either it's from Spotify. Anyone who felt the same ?
Well, the live version has more drive and is mixed more that way too. The studio version is much more holding back and is much quiter and feels more angsty and personal. I love it when bands are able to create different versions of their songs.
One of the few bands that are better with every album. My favourite band for 10 last years. And Madness is one of the saddest song I ever heard - almost the same level as Big Star - Holocaust.

She uses a combo of a Harmonizer and the Pioneer DJ EFX 1000. If your short on cash try to get a used Boss VE-8 Vocal Singer. You won't have the same exact array of effects but the basis to get close within your natural singing range. Better not to copy her exactly anyways right? Find your own sound, what works for your unique voice and vision!
