Good video! I've been using it on my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit for a year now. Just to be clear: It is NOT autonomous driving. Its great on the highway ... with a couple words of caution. First, if there is a sharp bend (we have something called "dead man's curve" in Cleveland) it will fail. By the time it warns you, it may be too late if you are not paying attention. Secondly, if there's a lot of traffic and the person in front of you smashes on the brakes it will attempt to stop but the alarm will go off telling you to take over. So if its stop-and-go on the highway you need to be very aware. Also on city driving it does NOT recognize stop lights/signs. Thus it will not stop if there is no car in front of you. Bottom line is its a great feature in 90% of driving conditions but you need to be aware because the other 10% could become a problem. On normal highway driving its fantastic, especially on long multi hour drives in normal traffic conditions. It reduces driver fatigue and stress but you still need to be aware because it is not autonomous driving.
Hi, great video 👍 and I don't want to disappoint anybody, but I need to tell our story about this car. We have our Wrangler Rubicon (2022) for about 26 months now. It’s my wife car. She is in love with this model and in Belgium you can only buy the hybrid model new. We live in Belgium, no rough terrain, just our street is muddy over 1 mile when it rains. So no off-road adventures done. It drives great, when it is not in the garage for repair. After 1.5 year (about 6.000miles) the aft RH brake caliper seized. (Again, never driven in very muddy conditions or rough terrain.) Around the same time, airco inoperative >> broken wire. Also, it rains inside on the driver and passenger side. Always wet under the floor mat when it is parked in the rain. Now after about 2 years (10,000 miles) the famous death wobble around 60 miles/hour (Again, never driven in very muddy conditions or rough terrain.) >> steering shock absorber replaced and checked alignment. (JEEP advice) And now since about 3 months the car shakes from left to right at stand still and makes a metal sound. It feels like it wants to shift gear, but doesn’t. It doesn’t shake the same every day, sometimes a bit less or more. In electric mode or engine running, park, rev, neutral or drive position, doesn’t matter. It seems to come from the gearbox. The car went to the dealer, and they changed the wire loop to the electric motor in the gearbox (recommended by JEEP) It didn’t fix it. The car stayed at the dealer for 4 weeks, awaiting a solution from JEEP. No result until now. We picked it up 2 days ago (they wanted their free rental car back). No problem driving it but shacking Steven is still with us 😬 They await another solution from JEEP and are aiming for the gearbox (really?). So there will be a big chance that they need to replace the complete gearbox…to be continued… We are very disappointed as it is not a cheap car (around €70.000 here) and we already have issues as which make it look a 15-year-old car. (Again, never driven in very muddy conditions or rough terrain.) So far my advice is, look up (we didn’t) what issues u can expect on forums even if you buy a new one.
Absolutely nothing 😂😂😂
Hate I even bought one b4 watching your video. The 4 cylinder motor is loud and slow after the minimal battery runs out.
Nice, informative video. One observation that I didn't see anyone else mention. When your son activated the brakes in the RV, the left and right brake lights lit up on the jeep but the center / cyclops light over the spare tire did not. I don't know the laws in every state but I'm thinking you want that light to come on also, don't you?
I look at this as a "trailer".. a Trailer wont have a center mounted light. On the JL the 3rd brake light is not part of the wiring for the Rv tow harness. Can it hurt to have that included, no. IMO i'ts not a big issue.
Electric dies fast 😂
It's all about how often you charge.. It's a pHEV not an EV
So, I'm confused. Does it work on older (2021-2023) Wrangler 4xE's? You state that the technology 'should' work, but I don't think I heard whether or not this would actually work on older models? I own a 2022 and would love to leverage this but I haven't heard a straight-forward answer as to whether this will work on mine.
This will not work on the older 4xe's. For that matter it's specific to those Jeeps that this unit came with. We learned a lot since this video
just got my 4xe over the weekend and didn't realize breaking without regen on, would still regen the battery. thanks for the tip.
For sure! We've got a lot of 4xe content here. consider s subscribe :)
Such a fun day!
Great vid, really looking forward to this
Thanks! Can't wait to see ya there!
Whats crazy is my 08 Acura tsx had that feature. You didnt have to click it tho just hold it
Never knew there was a hidden key inside that fob til 4 years later 😂😂
LoL! the more ya know :)
My Wrangler 4xe is not displaying the FORM message but will not drive in electric. It will go into Hybrid mode but is not using the battery at all. Its really wierd. I guess I need to call the dealership
Are you seen any check engine lights or error messages?
Love it
I’ve had two of these in four years and didn’t know this!
What is hybrid mpg
I live in the Bahamas no one told me about the recall until I search up in the recalls and boom it appeared! No jeep dealer here 😩
Oh no! This is not a vehicle I'd want to own without a dealer support. To be fair, not sure there's any vehicle (while under warranty) I'd want to own w/o a dealer. Did you ship the jeep there?
@@JeepsOnTheRun Yes i Did! we shipped it from Florida not easy to get a new car on the island, everybody buys them in the US and ship them here
Thank you for posting this. I literally got a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk 4xe yesterday and had no clue about this...please keep us posted as new information comes out. Thank you
Will do! No real updates yet! Please subscribe for all updates :)
@JeepsOnTheRun already did! 👍👍
@@kilocharlie86 Thanks!
So far I'm hearing speculation. But what we do know Stelantis is only paying the service centers for one hour. That leaves the dealers holding the bag for 7 to 8 hrs of billable time for the technicians. The average dealership only has 2 charging stations therefore limiting them to carrying out 2 recall updates in one business day. The question now becomes how many dealerships will be willing to do a propper update then do the test and eat the extra 7 hours labor?
This recall is old now. Yes, the pay was about an hour. To be fair would you expect to be paid while the Jeep is charging? The actual work time on the recall was in line with what the pay was. If the dealers are limited on chargers, that could be a hurdle.
Thank you for the details on the vehicle. I just picked up a new 24 and this helps a newbie🎉 to hybrid
@@ajdeange glad to help. Check out our other videos we've got a lot of 4 xe content
My wife said I need to leave a comment here saying that you helped me. We are in Italy and she had to push our car into a parking spot because I couldn’t figure out how to get into reverse. Must have been the lock. But there you go.
Glad this helped! Thank you to your wife for pushing you to leave a comment :) Every bit helps :)
The buttons are completely useless
@@nerdyeevideos1879 I mean. Generally. But there are times you might decide otherwise.
I owned one for a full year. There really is no reason to drive somewhere and preserve the battery from a practicality standpoint, so that setting is kind of stupid. The hybrid and ev setting are essentially the same thing, the ev mode keeps the engine off for slightly longer. The efficiency on the thing is horrible. The 4xe is less efficient than a gas version since the overall mileage is worse on longer trips. Around town on battery only it gets the equivalent of 24 mpg. The brake regen does absolutely nothing, i tested it and no increased range is gained. The battery charge option works on long trips and doesn’t result in less gas mileage with testing. Not sure why that is even something that can be turned off. The thing is a novelty, the only positive is additional power.
Perfect; thanks!!!
I would say yes! Ironically enough, I did a review on a 255 Yamaha boat on my sister channel :) ruclips.net/video/PJTXU56ZetI/видео.htmlsi=QXjaQVVi8Ss8ODPr
Not anymore)
Well, the new recall is not a B9a
This is bull shit Jeep
Great info… question can that truck tow a yamaha 252SF jet boat on tandem axle trailer
Just brought mine in yesterday. Had one software update last summer and two yesterday. Nothing about battery hardware/software was mentioned. Ordered 2023 Sahara 4xe and haven’t had any issues.
Just watch to make sure it doesnt land on the recall notice. :)
Just purchased a brand new 2024 sahara 4xe. I checked my vin and so far it shows 0 open recalls. I’m wondering if the affected vin’s have been populated into the recall database? I’m a bit concerned since my wife and kids are in it everyday! As of now I have been charging it - should I stop?
When we asked Chrysler to provide written confirmation that our 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4XE is safe to drive they refused. When we requested written assurance that it’s safe to park in our garage with the hybrid battery uncharged they also refused. Additionally when they advised us to avoid charging the battery and operate it on gas only they declined to put this recommendation in writing. By refusing to document these assurances Chrysler is implying the vehicle may not be safe. If it were they should have no issue confirming it in writing.
EXACTLY!!!
Sounds like a GTA car 😭
Real Life!
Long comment but a huge win from what Jeep is giving me at the bottom. My Grand Cherokee is impacted. I called and complained, making it to the executive complaint department because of their awful customer service. Emailed multiple executives to get to the executive care team. They refused a buyback but offered me $250 a day for rental reimbursement and are paying my Jeep payment until the recall is fixed! Still a brand detractor and moving to Chevy as Jeep customer service was deplorable, to say the least. Would have been a brand promoter if they did the right thing and did an asset swap or buyback, which would cost them less than the offer they gave me. Silly they want to pay more because, and I quote, they can't sell it to anyone else when there is a recall that can't be fixed, leaving me little hope it'll be fixed soon and even less hope regarding getting a quality product.
To be fair the vehicle is still drivable under the recall, most manufactures would not offer a buy back when a vehicle is recalled. The fact that they offered you $250 a day is actually impressive
A month after 95B recall and still no fix yet. No reason to contact dealers, they can't do anything. Starting lemon law process next week.
Not sure in our state this would qualify for a lemon law.
@@JeepsOnTheRun Maybe a challenge in my State of NJ. But after a month waiting for a fix on the second recall for the same problem, coupled with not being able to use the Jeep with my family (or maybe I do want to sit my kids on top of the battery pack if they misbehave). I am willing to give it a shot.
@@IamJunius Keep is posted!
FAKE NEWS!!!!! Alerting Zuckerturd. 🙄🤬
Greetings from a Tiny Island in Maine, USA Does the battery drain just sitting parked? I charged it to 100 then it sat for about 24 hours. Went out and less than 1%?
No, it definitely should not drain like that. You have an issue. Not to sound dumb, are you sure vehicle was "OFF" ?
@ thanks and not a dumb question, anything is possible w/ me 🤗 I will try it again when I get the chance.
@TinyIslandMaine I would confirm the vehicle is off and check again. You really should have no depletion of battery while it's parked. Especially for a very short period of time
All I got was neighbors yelling at me to stop beeping the horn😢
@@antwonchristmas8161 hahaha. Works with a Tazer

Thank you!
@@angelsalsas most welcome!
Thank you for a great video and review. I just test drove 3 different 4xe 2024 models. High Altitude, Sahara and a Sport S. I love all of the features in the High Altitude but absolutely love the ride of the Sahara...because of the 18" tires. I had both up to 85MPH on the highway and there was definitely a difference. I now deciding what I value more...all of the features of the High Altitude or the smoother ride of the Sahara. I am trying to locate a Sahara with the one touch roof and leather. Not sure if I will be successful. Not sure if I should wait for the 2025 models and build my own or take advantage of some pretty good deals for 2024's, Wish me luck!
@@monkabuda I'd take advantage of thr deals on a 2024. Where are you located?
@@JeepsOnTheRun I am in SWFL. I ended up buying the 2024 High Altitude 4Xe last night. They had the Silver, Army Green and Black. I ended up choosing the Black!
@@monkabuda Awesome!! DId you end up with the one touch top? What trim level did you pick?
Great car
So sick of the recalls, lesson learned don’t buy a 1st gen anything.
@@Steve_Solomon even so.... Many other vehicles (not 1st generation) get recalls too.
Actually there is second generation at 2024
@@MrYvan77 Minor changes, but yes.
That’s awesome.
It was pretty slick to see!
The 10 inch mirror is good and I and I ran the back up camera wire the same way you did except I ran it under the rear door gasket into The tire jack storage compartment Storage compartment and out the drain hole and under the spare tire on the rear bumper
Great feedback! I bet 10" os the way to go.
Just called the 1 800 #. I discussed the fact that I can't use the electric part of the Jeep and that I will have to fill up (Gas) more often and that I wanted to be reimbursed for the additional gas I would have to buy. This completely befuddled the agent and he couldn't find anything in his notes about "discounts" (I'm assuming he meant refunds) for gas. All I was offered was a rental. to which I stated you are willing to give me $50 a day plus fees to rent a car but you (FCA) haven't considered just reimbursing me for the extra gas. I asked for a supervisor to call me back.
They finally found my issue. Well at least one. Axle had to be replaced and struts. Yeah , never been off road. Hubby told the dealer he thought it fell off the truck. Dealer is working to get it all took care of though. 4700 miles. 1700 i didnt even put on it. That was just test driven miles at dealer.
Any leaking?
None! been on 2 different jeeps all summer and winter. Not a single issue. 5 stars!! ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐
I bought a firecracker red Nighthawk. Beautiful ride! Only 200 miles
Congrats!! :)
Great Jeep! Were you able to use the stock wheels without spacers? Do you have 16" wheels? Thanks
So my 2024 willys doesn't show a recall on NHSTA..should be good to charge, yes?
@@wahlburger4854 in theory, yes. I'd keep checking.
