Radek Bekieler Music
Добавлен 15 апр 2009
Welcome to my channel. I am a multiinstrumentalist, recently quite fascinated with new metal instruments like RAV Drum or handpans. Sound, vibrations, frequencies, sound healing, jamming, intuitive playing, developing consciousness and communication, Thai massage, dance, energy and experience exchange, conscious breath, winter swimming, travels, meeting people are the things I like the most in life.
Currently, I am working on my first album with my tunes and improvisations on RAV.
Enjoy, give some comment, subscribe and do not hesitate to contact me for musical cooperation or invite me to play a concert.

G Pygmy is one of the most evocative and versatile scales. Beautiful - and thank you
Thank You for listening. And yes, G Pygmy scale is exactly the way You described. I am still inspired after 7 years of having it. Best regards.
😍Thank you for featuring our drum, RAV Vast G Pygmy in the video 🙌🤩
With pleasure. Please, check my other videos. ;) Best regards.
@@radekbekielermusic We will! Thanks!
2016 model sounds poor as for me. 2021 is loud and bright. I have no idea why a lot of (maybe all?:)))) musicians love 2016 version Dunno Cool playing🎉🎉🎉
Hi. Thanks for Your comment. Well, if the 2021 model suits You better, then that's just how it is. ;) I respect that and it's great that people have different sensitivity to sounds and their various qualities. I still love my old RAV. Best regards.
Love the combination of sounds of the RAV Vast E Pygmy and G Pygmy! Keep on going! :)
@@RAVVastSteelTongueDrum Thank You. To be continued. 😉
@@radekbekielermusic
wow i love these two scales
I commented 2 years ago and so l wanted to say that l really should have started by saying thanks for sharing and for the great playing as l listened again and really enjoy your playing style, so thankyou. I still stand by my original comment, and now in 2024 they have gone back to the 16 model style with the indigo version, which has the same look and characteristics. I have the best of both worlds in the different scales to make my own comparisons. 🙏🙌✨️
Thank You. Do You mean that RAV came back to the same sound as in 2016? I didn't notice that.. But maybe I missed something. Now they have something called RAV Moon, which sounds like something a bit different. I finally try to record my album with RAV tunes. Hopefully I will share it this year. Check my new Insta too: instagram.com/radek_bekieler_music/ Best regards.
Awesome! You got next level chops! Keep up the epic vibes.
Thank You. Well, today, after 7 years I play quite different. 😉
that’s cool
przepięknie Radek, roztapiam się w twoim brzmieniu
dziekuje, Aniu ;*
Very nice. I’ve been wanting a handpan for the longest time.
thank You. well.. that's not a handpan ;)

You made me fall in love with yet another instrument... not what I needed!!! ha ha ha ha Seriously, great stuff, thank you.
Thank You, Jason. ;)
Pięknie! 🥰
Piękne <3
mega fajne !
It’s interesting. I noticed that you played the old one with the low notes closer to the mic, but then you played the new one with the low notes closer to you. 180 degrees turned
You can turn it as You wish. It's up to Your creativity, comfort and needs. 😉

Very good sound.ruclips.net/video/54IRLZxAqW0/видео.html
Hands down the 16 model has so much more soul and the harmonics vibrate in the heart space. I understand they want to create a drum that keeps it's original properties and not rust but they sacrifice the tonal qualities and timbre. You would think the new coating would soften the metal, obviously not! Hopefully l can find an early model for sale 🙏
The skill of hand percussion is great, feel the beauty of music that touches the soul
Thank You. ;)
👏👏👏💐💐🤗💖
Thank you for posting this video and, more so, your beautiful playing. I am a RAV Vast beginner and would be satisfied if I could make any RAV sound close to your sounds. I can hear the difference between the 2 RAVs and may have leaned toward buying an older version but I do not have the necessary knowledge of the used RAV market to buy one. I just bought a 2021 RAV Vast G Pygymy for myself for Christmas on the RAV Vast Black Friday Sale. I love the scale and I am buying a known quantity and quality instrument. Maybe after I have spent enough time in various Facebook tongue drum groups, I can go looking for older G Pygymy drum. I believe it is better to spend the time practicing and learning on a new RAV than wait for the right older model to show up. Right now, it doesn't matter which RAV drum I'm playing, practicing is what matters. I'lll take any comments suggestions etc. Please keep posting videos.
They say people who play beautiful music have a beautiful soul.
Thank You for that sweet comment. 😉🙏🎶❤️
This is a very good comparison! I wonder if the newer instrument will sound even better after more time-I heard in the RAV Vast video blog that it has some kind of break-in effect with sound getting warmer and less metallic. So older instruments may sound warmer simply due to this. Either way, it sounds nice as is. Personally, I don't like the rougher surface of the new paint-coated model but rust resistance is essential where I live, so I've got one (B Kurd but I also want G Pygmy now!).
For me, this is the most nicely put together composition that I've heard. I'm a new player and have been able to learn a tremendous amount from listening to this... thank you much!
Thank You so much. It was the first tune, which came to me after getting the RAV. I play it differently today and it has some new part.. I might record a new version of it.. Good luck in Your adventure. ;)
Thank you for making this video, super helpful!
Nice
What mic are you using? Sounds great!
Thanks. It's not only about mic. ;) These garden sessions were not made for public reasons in the first place. It was just my practicing/chilling/healing time in the garden. But I decided turn on the camera in my phone and share the material later. So, You could say that the sound is mostly taken by iPhone, but I play with Audio Technica Pro 35 through an Elite Acoustic A1-4 amp with reverb on and everything was edited in Logic after all anyway. So it is the mix of everything.
Your recordings sound amazing. What kind of microphone do you use? Thanks for the cool video!
Thank You. Seems like You did not read the description 😉 Best regards
I love your compositions, i received my pygmy and lets go!
Thank You. Congrats and wish You lots of fun and creativity. ;)
This touch is subtly beautiful :)
STUNNING. I am writing my posts today with this piece of art in the background <3
Thanks, Sabinka. 🙃 So.. A subtle touch from me into Your reflections.. 😉❤️
Hello, I am trying to decide between a 2018 model and 2021. The only thing keeping me is the sound in this video, which sounds incredible. Could it be the room? recording technique? Yes its a bit metallic but it has a deep bell like resonance that seems to go longer. Is this a fair example of the sound in room?> ruclips.net/video/Jfp2UyjRW34/видео.html
Try to ask the person, who made this video. I can only be guessing, what is going on there.. I hear some kind of reverberator or something.. It is not a natural sustain, though the new RAV has even longer sustain than mine. You can see some kind of mic on this video and also on the very beginning befor he plays any note the reverb or maybe delay is already going on.. But, I do not feel I can help You anyhow. Get as much information as possible from the owner and video maker and maybe ask for another video, without any audio processing. Good luck. ;)
The percussion part (slamming between the pitches) of the old one comes with some mysterious echo and transparency that the new one just hasn't....
Thanks for Your comment. Though.. I don’t quite get what You are referring to.. There is a reverb (same on both instruments), so any echo impression would come with it. But maybe You hear something I cannot.. 😉
@@radekbekielermusic These things also depend on how many levels of electronics are put in between the anolog instrument and the human ear of the YT-listener. As for me, the old instrument (when played in percussion mode) comes with a wider variety of overtones than does the new one. (Which just is an observation, not a valuation). But true, as a listener of RUclips I'm the end-user of a possibly complicated electronic process, which includes the audio of my own PC and headset. So yeah, I probably hear what you can not hear, vice versa... 😉
@@frankrault3190 Hmm.. Well.. From the very beginning, since I recorded RAV the first time, I can say that the recordings and any mics I used never really give exactly the same sound as the one I hear by playing. Also just playing acoustic, RAV sounds warm and deep, when it is close to the body and my head is just above, when You give it to someone else, it sounds a little different.. ;) When You put the instrument on the ground it also looses its deep resonance a bit... So, it is true, that there are some small details to be noticed. With overtones, I would have to spend more hours with both instruments and listen carefully. Backing to my recordings, I always put a little bit of editing. I try to keep it as natural as possible, unless I really want it to be manipulated (I recently love long reverbs with a little sythesizer feeling..), but as You can read in description, I did use some dynamic processing and yes, it will always sound different on every equipment.. 'Mysterious echo' - I would give a try saying, that it has something to do with the reverb and maybe expander. But still.. I achevied showing, that these two instruments sound just.. different. ;)
Dankeschön 🌈 Die Ostsee ist auch mein Kraftspender! Herzliche grüße aus Rostock ❤️
I could listen to you for days. Thank you.
You're so welcome ;) Thank You too.
Probably the best comparison of the G Pygmy
Thanks. Probably not many are out there... ;)
Yes, I fully agree!
Beautiful sound... Also that painting in the background is insane.... May I ask where did you get that from?
Thank You. Read the description under the video. ;)
Thank you for the comparison of the old Rav Vast & new version...& you play beautifully! I had decided to purchase the G Pygmy whilst listening to videos of the old model Rav Vast...thanks to your video I just realised how different they actually sound & definitely prefer the sound of the older version. Now unsure whether to go for a new Rav Vast or purchase an older used model G Pygmy! Thanks again...so helpful...blessings 🙏🏻🤍🌿
Thank You, Lena. Great to hear that my video shows those differences, that was my initiative. Well.. If You really prefer the old version (like me.. ;) ), then go for a used one (though it might take some time to find one in good condition). I also would like to get the old model of an A integral scale. They had issues with rust ( I also already have little spots on the back side, but not so visible and recently I noticed some rust inside of the drum..). Still I hope my rav will last for long (I do take care of it regularly). The new one should be much better protected against rust, but the sound and the look is different. Though it is still an interesting instrument. Well.. the choice is Yours. Follow the heart..
@@radekbekielermusic Thank you for your reply Radek. I didn’t know that they are prone to rust. I did find some used older models on Etsy.com that ship from Russia to Europe (I believe they have the A Integral old version too!) but there wouldn’t really be any way of knowing what condition they’re truly in till you receive them in person. Also the prices are almost as much as the brand new ones directly from the Rav website. I would like to incorporate the Rav to my other instruments like Crystal Singing bowls, Gongs & Koshi chimes for Sound Healing sessions & meditations. I think that they would work well together. I hope that you get many more years of playing with your beautiful G Pygmy. Thanks again for the valuable info & beautiful melodies 🙏🏻🌍🤍
@@lenamichael630 Yes, they are prone to rust, therefore You have to use a handpan oil and take care of how You keep the Rav (do not leave it in any case unnecessarily for long time, it has to breath, watch out with humidity and fluids..). It does not have to be a very demanding thing, just get a routine of quick regular rubbing with oil, especially after playing and some good thorough cleaning once in a while and in general, just keep an eye on it, if nothing shows up. ;) About Etsy.. I am not sure I would go for buying that kind of instrument this way.. I also did not have a chance to see my rav, but I bought it through Nadishana's shop, who is a friend with Andrey (the founder of RAV) and one of many official distributors. In the end it came from Russia anyway, but it was one of the best sources at the time (to buy a new RAV of course..). But Etsy is a huge internet shop with just everything.. I don't know, I do not want to make any projections, You might be very lucky there.. Still, first I would try asking musicians or check fbk groups with used tongue drums, local websites with used instruments and items, preferably with possibility of seeing the instrument or asking the owner to record a video with general look and some good quality sound. If You will decide for a new one, buy it from an official local distributor or from rav website. And Yes, it is a great choice to add it to Your palette of sound healing tools. It was exactly same reason for me, as I also love to play Tibetan singing bowls, percussion, I sing and play guitar, I give sound and Thai massage. A integral has to wait.. I cannot go for such an investment at the moment and I started looking around handpans again.. ;)
@@lenamichael630 And thank You for Your kind words.. Hopefully, I will finally record my solo album with all these melodies on RAV...
@@radekbekielermusic Thank you Radek for your opinion & the invaluable info on how to care for the Rav Vast, I certainly didn’t know about the handpan oil & keeping it out of the case to breathe. I now feel more inclined to go for a brand new one despite the sound, due to its inclination to rust. I would definitely purchase directly from the Rav website....all other sound healing instruments I have purchased from Thomann.de which has a huge range of all instruments & delivers directly from Germany. I also use Tibetan singing bowls, crystal tuning forks & Reiki Healings. Very similar work! I absolutely agree that a handpan would be the best option! That was what I originally wanted but unfortunately the prices are a little too high so the Rav is the next best sound...I hope you get to incorporate a handpan in your instruments & look forward to following your work & the release of your new album...I am sure it will sound wonderful! Blessings & thank you again beautiful soul 🙏🏻🌍🤍🌿
I just recently bought a RAV, ...my first one, in this scale. I bought it second-hand and by the looks of it (finish and edge trim) it is an older one. Both are gorgeous, as is the scale - but to me the older one seems a bit deeper in resonance, whereas the newer is a somewhat brighter/higher tone overall. Thank you for the comparison - and the inspiration as I learn.
And thank You for Your comment. It pretty much resonates with my impressions and yes the new one is brighter, but not that deep and warm anymore.. 🎶😉
Beautiful playing! Its hard to choose, they both have great sound, just different.
I prefer the sound of my older RAVs, but I do really appreciate the extra rust resistance of the new coating....that said I would be looking for an older model first when looking to purchase another RAV if the scale was available in that older style. If I couldn't find one, or people were trying to charge too much for the used one, I would gladly purchase a newer version.
Thanks for Your comment. I would also like to get the old type of A integral scale at some point.. 🙂
(Polski ponizej...) Despite some experience, more or less conscious training for more than 10 years, changes in my body and greater tolerance to cold, I still believe I am rather at the beginning of this journey.. Yes. Each time before I reach the water in winter conditions, I talk a lot with my body, I prepare myself mentally and I know, that it is not the most pleasant feeling, that sometimes it hurts, that I put myself in a health and life threatening situation. I try to keep myself peaceful and trust the body, I have great respect for nature and cold element, I observe my breath and the whole body. When I have access to a sauna, everything is much easier, more enjoyable, even more relaxed. But when I don't, it's always a challenge. Always! I am writing this because it amazed me that someone called it all a trend recently, that people are making fun of it, that they want to be photographed so much, show off and make a party out of it. Some try to climb a mountain in winter in shorts and boots only, without preparation.. (I also want to challenge myself one day.. nothing wrong with the idea 😉 ). I understand that everyone has the right to practice this sport (?), as they wish like and have fun the way they want. It can also be a great way to socialize and learn from each other (I think, I like swimming alone the most...) and everyone has their own lessons to learn. But in connection with various accidents recently, I have a request... Listen to your body!, listen to the people experienced in the subject. Be careful, use safe places, do not do anything by force and for unnecessary applause. Winter baths are really nothing special, every reasonably healthy body has resources for it, but not every mind is ready and it also takes some time to get the body used to more and more extreme challenges. However, I must admit, I just love it and I still want to exceed myself in this adventure, as for example recently I walked in the park for the first time at -12C only wearing a T-shirt for about 20 minutes. I wish you all great fun and beautiful experiences. You have the power, but use it wisely! Probuje zachowac duzo spokoju i ufam cialu, mam ogromny szacunek do natury i elementu zimna, obserwuje oddech i cale cialo. Wszystkim Wam zycze fajnej zabawy i pieknych doswiadczen. Macie moc ale uzywajcie jej rozwaznie! ❤ 🔥
