I'm blowing out on the Skyhooks the past couple days. I always knew them as an Aussie and thought the few songs I knew were fun and cool, but they were a bit before my time. Now watching/listening to a bunch of random songs from them, I'm convinced they're one of the coolest and fun bands that will ever exist. Particularly their live stuff, brilliant band. While I'm here I'm gonna have to highly reccommend that if you ever do more Colored Balls/Lobby Loyde on the channel, please please check out "Working Man's Boogie" by Colored Balls (the live one!). I really wanted to suggest it after seeing you do a bunch of their stuff a while back but never did. It's just badass you'll dig it I think. Cheers dude!

Thank you for your respectful reaction ❤❤ This is an iconic and important song. Goanna really lay it all out there unapologetically. The Aussie music of the 70's and 80's was full of this type of politically driven songs. I wish it was still that way. People seem worried to say what they are really thinking and get punished for having a political view and encouraging others to think more deeply. Talking about this stuff is really important for doing better and moving forward ❤❤ Without getting too political, it seems we are going backwards in this area considering recent events. Thinking about it brings me to tears listening to this song. We can do so much better 😢 Thank you Vakasa. For what's not to love for he has you immersed in your feelings irrespective of the genre he chooses to sing. While the lyrics in this song were somewhat melancholy with pain and sorrow, he has the ability to sing them and still make it joyful, almost dreamy where you close your eyes and sway side to side. John needs to ease up for he gets me every time, but this time no tears lol. 🥰 As for John's family of musicians which of course include his backing vocalists, I think at this point they're in a class of their own. For their instruments perfectly complement John to the point where it is a synchronised masterpiece. ❤🎼 On an endnote these lyrics stood out: *"...I'm sitting in the middle...of a three way love affair...".* My thoughts on this subject are whether you know or you don't know (which is a knife in the heart), it will forever remain a betrayal of trust and an infidelity of the relationship. Of course "Walk Away"!!!

I not only loved it's catchy chorus, guitar riff and didgeridoo, but it's important message. To me it's a 'protest message' to bring change for the injustices faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people regarding land rights. To also inspire and empower future generations. I thought Shane Howard the songwriter and lead vocalist/guitarist of Goanna perfectly summed up his intentions with this song. *For Shane beautifully stated "..... I dreamt of a better country, one that was respectful of our ancient history, honest about our modern history, diverse but unified."*

There’s so much soul in John’s voice. When he sings gospel and blues it just feels so natural to John, although why would any of us be surprised in John’s mastery when it comes to his vocal ability. Great performance from John and band with this one, I love all the different genres John covers, especially rock and blues, we are truly blessed to have John music in our lives and will live on forever.

Never heard anyone say a didge was easy to play. Easy to make noise maybe... to hold a tune and make continuous sound is fricken difficult! After clapping sticks, probably the oldest instrument on earth. Thanks to the way gum trees grow, hollow branches are relatively common in Australia. Not sure if that's true elsewhere.

Hi VK. The Dreaming is the creation story belonging to the aboriginal people. That verse is about the original arrival of people in Aus. Aus was then settled under the British legal doctrine of “Terra Nullius”. This means the land was considered empty so they could take it without Treaty or discussion. This was the basis of land rights up until the end of the last century. So someone lied!
