Thanks for this, it is an important and great song👣❤️ also, i think you're a real legend for your strength in getting through you problems🙏 Go you good thing ❤️ I'm so glad you're learning some great australian music, we have a lot of soul down here in Aus, i think it's the energy of this ancient land that gets right into your soul 🌏🪐🌕🙏🍀🌺🇦🇺🦋🐞💐🐝🐦🦉🏡🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Very important song. I'm glad we got to do it. Thank you for your kind words. They mean a lot. The energy of y'all's music is something uniquely special. It has its own aura and I love it. Hope you are well today. Much love and blessings 🙏🖤
Thank you Vakasa for your reaction and lyrics analysis and Stephen for your request. ❤ This was an amazing song by the Australian folk-rock group Goanna. I not only loved it's catchy chorus, guitar riff and didgeridoo, but it's important message. To me it's a 'protest message' to bring change for the injustices faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people regarding land rights. To also inspire and empower future generations. I thought Shane Howard the songwriter and lead vocalist/guitarist of Goanna perfectly summed up his intentions with this song. *For Shane beautifully stated "..... I dreamt of a better country, one that was respectful of our ancient history, honest about our modern history, diverse but unified."*
Thank you for an amazing comment as always. Informative too. I love learning more about y'all's culture and history. It is fascinating but dark in many areas. Glad that things are better in a sense now. The States sure got a lot of work to do still. Hope you are well today Heidi. Much love and blessings 🙏🖤
12:12... that verse is talking about the arrival of Aboriginal people 65000 years ago. That number keeps changing as new discoveries are uncovered. When i was a tacker, it was 40,000. Then they found "mungo man" and other evidence of human occupation now 65,000 years
Hi VK. The Dreaming is the creation story belonging to the aboriginal people. That verse is about the original arrival of people in Aus. Aus was then settled under the British legal doctrine of “Terra Nullius”. This means the land was considered empty so they could take it without Treaty or discussion. This was the basis of land rights up until the end of the last century. So someone lied!
Thank you for sharing that with me. Very informative. They will spin anything to get what they desire. It's a shame. Glad to have you here. Hope you are doing well. Much love and blessings 🙏🖤
Thank you for your respectful reaction ❤❤ This is an iconic and important song. Goanna really lay it all out there unapologetically. The Aussie music of the 70's and 80's was full of this type of politically driven songs. I wish it was still that way. People seem worried to say what they are really thinking and get punished for having a political view and encouraging others to think more deeply. Talking about this stuff is really important for doing better and moving forward ❤❤ Without getting too political, it seems we are going backwards in this area considering recent events. Thinking about it brings me to tears listening to this song. We can do so much better 😢 Thank you Vakasa. You understand the importance of a song like this, and that is why we love you and your videos so much 💕 Take care everyone, and have an amazing weekend 🙏 😊❤❤
Yes people are afraid to be unapologetically honest nowadays. The newest song I just finished making is highly unapologetic and I'm actually nervous to put it out lol. It's wild. Wasn't like this when I was in high school even. Glad that I can learn more from y'all and embrace each other's history and culture. It's amazing what you learn everyday even through songs. Thanks for watching. Hope you are well. Much love and blessings 🙏🖤
@vkmusic2727 I know. They will right people off for having a different opinion or view and don't want honest, open discussion on anything. They just like being outraged - 😕 😞 I am sick of it. Good luck releasing your song. I hope it goes well 🙏 Absolutely, it is a blessing to be able to learn from others and look outside your own world. Thank you for all you do Vakasa. I am doing well thanks despite some health stuff going on with close family. Keeping positive ✨️ Take care and I will see you in the next one ❤️ ❤️
Never heard anyone say a didge was easy to play. Easy to make noise maybe... to hold a tune and make continuous sound is fricken difficult! After clapping sticks, probably the oldest instrument on earth. Thanks to the way gum trees grow, hollow branches are relatively common in Australia. Not sure if that's true elsewhere.
COOL, thanks for sharing your heritage.
I don't think there is any dreamtime stories of the "arrival". They have ALWAYS been here.
Thanks VK , your channel deserves more exposure. Keep up the good work
@@numynumevs Thanks for requesting this Stephen. It's an important one I'm glad I got to cover it for you. Much love and blessings 🙏🖤
Thank you for making this request. Such an important song with a strong message ❤❤

Yep, check out Marc Hunter.
Great Kiwi, who ended up spending most of his life in Oz. Lead singer of DRAGON. Awesome band on the 70's
Knew you would get to it

@@briangill4000 Probably just naturally had breath control down from singing a lot already lol.
Look up "terra nullius"
That was the biggest lie or the product of ignorance at the time.
