Couple of questions 😎 your mighty jet return pump, what setting you have it set at? Couldn’t see, was a Mp10 wire hanging in front of it 😢 What mode are you running the MP 10 at? Put water in my IM 25 Lagoon last night 😎 going to get some seasoned media from the LFS today ,, Last question 😎 at what point should I be looking to put the Chemi Blue packet into the system, after the tank has cycled or before ?
@@redfish7644 I have the pump up all the way. Mp 10 is up about 3/4 the way up pm the lagoon setting. I wouldn’t worry about chemi pure until you are running into nitrate issues. After cycle and after fish and coral are in the tank. You might not even need it at all. By the way, the flow will be different depending on rock structure and what corals you keep and where. So it best to play with it until it’s flowing the at you think is right. Look at your corals. If they are getting blown around turn it down. Also the placement of your power head will determine how powerful you run it
I could sit and look at your tank all day long. I can’t believe how many different corals you have in your tank. How old is it? My 32 cube is 1 yr old and battling G hair algae now. Also how do you have the mushrooms mounted in the back corner. I love mushrooms and always thought they were a sandbed lower coral rather than up high. Love your acan garden (My favorite corals) Love the Zoa island also 👏👏👏👏
@@BH0t8498 I have a video on green hair algae. I think the fact I have so many corals that use the nutrients in the water help me from getting a lot of algae. I upgraded tanks now. But at the time I think it was 2ish years old. Yeah the mushrooms are mounted on a magnetic frag rock I got from BRS. They do great in higher light or low light. To be honest the bright orange ones are a nuisance in my tank. They detach and attach to different parts of the tank and are hard to get rid of. In my experience just about all corals will adapt to a wide range of light settings. As long as it’s within reason. Thank you acans are my favorite as well.
What a lovely colourful tank! Epic job well done 👏

To control my pumps, I have a wireless power strip. You can turn each piece of equipment on and off via wifi, and even remotely if you wanted.
@@IceNein763 great piece of equipment. I use the Kasa plug which does that. I’ll check out that power strip
This video helped me to decide on getting a 25 lagoon from innovative marine and i have to say im super happy with it. My maintenence time went down 10 fold from a 40g with sump. The 25 is also big enough for all my apex probes , heater, filter sock, skimmer and caddy.
@@juanvanstaden7084 it’s an awesome tank size. I recently upgraded to the SR60 lagoon. The lagoon styles are the best
@@RespectTheReef Have to agree. Its becoming my favourite very quickly.
did you pre-cycle the new tank? i'm upgrading my tank soon.

I didn’t think to ask this question, saw another reefer with the same tank,, he said something that had me wondering 😂 He had 2 return pumps in the back of the tank, one each feeding the 2 returns back into the tank, Is this the same way your tank is set up? I was thinking the system came with 1 pump to feed both return lines , just wondering if I need to purchase a second pump, I have decided this is the tank & system I want 😎
@@redfish7644 I have one pump feeding both lines
I have another skimmer model from the same brand the hang on back version It’s very handy clears very well it’s well built quality
@@Sec_coach mine is still running perfect to this day
You use 3 IM caddies in your system , are all 3 of the same size, I saw them on their site ,, am guessing they are a standard size ,,

Hey Respect the Reef, I just wanted to tell you something about Nicrews but as you have no email I will post here. Got my Nicrews last April 30th 2023 installed on opposite sides of the tank, today I was working in the office from home luckily when I heard a crash and a splash and suddenly the 1 dual 100watt Nicrews mounting arm snapped at the base - the cheap plastic bit that holds it to the tank and the entire unit fell luckily on my screen and only got a tiny portion wet. If I had no screen it would have just landed splash in the tank and everything would be fried, got it out and had to mount my new PiXels on the one side until I get the RMS for them - so be warned about Nicrew lights, seem great but I am now waiting for the other side to snap as well :(
@@FishOutOfWaterToronto thanks for the heads up.

Nice to see a budget build not using a overpriced, over spec light! I have the same tank as a QT but whilst working on restarting my EVO I have this with 2 fish and some coral frags running as its a nice little tank. I am running my own custom 12.6W light and going well. Thanks for sharing that you don't need all the special equipment.
@@Polymate3D not at all. And the pump upgrade wasn’t necessary because that cheap wave maker worked fine. But I already had the pump
Really wanna see this thing all grown in!

I remember Jake Adam's talking about cycling a tank with corals there's a reef builders post about this. "Adding corals first is fishless cycling with a difference. It’s better for fish, better for corals and you’ll experience less erratic water quality issues as a result"

@@reef.villainoh the pump? My bad
@@RespectTheReef you good doggg
Looks like a fun build - just as an FYI I have 2 100W Nicrews on my tank and they are not enough for BTAs nor RFAs all of mine have gradually shrunk over the past year with just the Nicrews, the Maxi-minis are fine as they are basically indestructible. Added new lights and anemones are growing again - that is without regular feeding though so if you are going to feed them 3x/week you might get away with it. This of course is anecdotal but this is with 13 rock flower anemones, 8 maxi-minis and 3 btas.
Thank you for the information! I’ll look out for that. The bubble tip definitely stretches during the day. I’ll look out for a stronger light. Or move the bubble tips to my other tank and pray they don’t move to a spot that kills my torches or sps 😂 What size tank do you have?
@@RespectTheReef 103 gallons but 60 display as a lagoon 3'x2'x14" - try it but I noticed a definite shrinking in size - again random feeding not religiously of both the BTAs and my RFAs - but again it took a long time I am looking at long-term but hey as the guy below says - possibly the Kessils have a different spectrum? IDK again most info is anecdotal.
@@dpp898 the a80 is what I originally planned on putting on this tank. As soon as a used one comes around I’ll probably snag it.
@@RespectTheReef also as per the other person on Reef2Reef the Kessil 880s are outputting a good 250-300 par even in the 14" lagoon the nacres do not put out half that amount. what's his face - reef something lolz the ex-army guy - did readings on the Nicrews 150s I have the 100s and his readings were for a slightly higher tanks but not 24"

Hey question donu deal with aptasia or brisle worms in your rocks ??? If so how do u get rid of them or control it ?
@@blazer_cutz man I use the brand “ two little fishes reef putty” and put that over aptasia. Super easy. I’ll make a video! And bristle worms aren’t bad. They only can populate when there is extra food. So don’t feed as much if you want to get rid of them. But then again it’s better to have something eat the extra food then let it rot in the tank. I feed my fish 4 times a week. That’s it. I’m gone for 24 hours at a time for work. The fish do great. The tank is healthy and not over ran with worms.
@@RespectTheReef thank you 🙏 I just got real rocks yesterday so I’m thinking of switching them with the caribsea life rock I have since the live rocks is better as many say but I was washing it all night the holes etc. so and I had some of those worms come out and tiny star fishes and some mini snails today is outside getting some sun but I do have a small rock they gave me with a anemone stuck to it and when I was looking at the rock at night I saw a whole living city on that tiny rock and I saw the worms so I was thinking if the anemone jumps to one of my rocks then I can remove that small one and also clean it up to remove all those worms
